About this farm stay rental
Enjoy your time on this picturesque 10 Acre 5 bedroom home & gardens set on a 110 acre farm with 360 degree views of the Macedon and Cobaw Ranges. Built in the 1860's, the house still has the old charm with two wood fireplaces and modern conveniences.
The house has 5 bedrooms each with a queen or double bed, 2 bathrooms plus a powder room. There are 2 log fires plus deducted gas heating and air conditioning in the main living areas.
The property also has the historic Wattle Hill Barn that was built in 1860 and fully restored in the 1990's. The barn is listed on the historic buildings register for the Macedon Area
Enjoy the gardens and BBQ facilities including outdoor table and chairs plus the new games room located in the original shearing shed.

Great location 5 mins drive to Hanging Rock, Lancefield and Romsay. 15 min drive to Woodend and Mt Macedon. Easy access. The property is a working farm so the owners maybe onsite at certain times to tender the farm potentially staying in the Wattlehill Barn which is a separate building on the western side of the main property. Guests will have complete privacy of the main Hillcrest house, games room and gardens during their stay. If you would like to have any farm experience while staying at the property please feel free to reach out to us.

This property was perfect for a long weekend away with our adult children and grandchild. The house is very clean and extremely well resourced. The gardens are just gorgeous, with little pockets to enjoy as well as bigger spaces to all come together. Wayne was a terrific host, checking in a couple of times to make sure all was well.

Awesome experience
This is an amazing property both inside and out. The house is beautifully furnished on the inside but has the country charm on the outside. The gardens and outlook out to the mountains are quite something. We especially liked the fire pit which we used on a really clear night. The kitchen and living space is really big so its perfect for a family or larger group to use. Great location to local wineries as well. Highly recommend a stay at this place.

Incredible place, perfect for events
Amazing house with sublime attention to detail from the linen sheets to the beautiful coffee mugs to the dried flowers. The grounds are stunning. Wake up to croaking frogs and a beautiful sunrise off the balcony. We got ready for our wedding here, then came back the next day for brunch. The place is far better than the photos make it look! The owner was flexible with our checkout time and easy to deal with. Highly recommend.

What a stunning property! We stayed her for our wedding, and got ready at the house for the big day - it was perfect to host our whole family and there were so many beautiful spots for photos. Hillcrest Country Estate is the most beautiful property you will never want to leave. The house was perfect for our bridal party and provided such a special and relaxing backdrop to our weekend. We felt so welcome and comfortable in the home. Information provided by the owner was so comprehensive and helpful we were thoroughly impressed! Communication was also great and certainly appreciated by an anxious bride-to-be! We hope to come back and visit again.

Luxurious but comfortable property that caters very well for a large family group.
My family of 11 adults really enjoy this home and surrounding gardens. The house was very clean and very well appointed which created a cosy and comfortable atmosphere. There was enough space that we did not feel cramped. The family room and the outdoor BBQ and table setting provided great areas for us to sit and enjoy the views, whilst spending quality time with each other. Thank you for this opportunity to stay at your very special place.

Peaceful retreat with stunning views
We had a wonderful stay at Hillcrest, and that is despite the wintry weather. The house is well kept and accommodated the 10 of us comfortably. The gardens are beautiful and just having all that space to ourselves, with the fresh country air, was just so relaxing. We especially enjoyed the views. The fish pond with the multitude of goldfish made for beautiful photos and that fire pit was perfect for roasting marshmallows. I definitely recommend a stay at Hillcrest. We are certainly planning on coming back. If the property was this beautiful in winter, I'd love to see it in autumn or spring!

Relaxing in the country
A truly wonderful property. Excellent accommodation for 5 couples. Bedrooms were quiet and comfortable. Expansive living and relaxing areas and a beautiful warm wood fire backed up with central heating....we needed it as it was 5degrees outside. The setting, beautiful gardens looking over rolling farmland, was spectacular and visible from every room. we enjoyed it mid winter but think it would be even more spectacular in the warmer months. Total relaxation. Also easy to access from Melbourne airport and a short hour from the CBD, but handy to other great locations.
