Great breakfast, beautiful room and friendly accommodating staff. Close to the center of Tbilisi. Cool small venue right on top of an excellent garden restaurant.

This is such a special place. Once checked in we did not want to leave anymore. The atmosphere is amazing. You can feel the writers discussion in the old times in the upper floor. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms are all different. Very comfortable. Bathrooms very nice.
The Museum in the house is closed, but as a guest you can walk through the house and it feels amazing. Definitely coming back for a longer stay.
Parking is on the street. No reserved places.

All good

I’m honestly not sure where to start (though I’ll add a couple of pictures to support my, uhh… assessment).
The place is literally magical (I am/was here at the end of July - Tbilisi is/was hot at the time - just so you know).
So… it’s ABSOLUTELY great.
Yep.
Unlike any place (I wouldn’t want - nor I will - call it a “hotel”) I’ve stayed in.
It’s really hard to describe… As I wrote above - it’s just pure magic.
So - of course - you absolutely don’t have to take my word for it, but if you are in Tbilisi - I absolutely urge you to spend at least two nights here.
One to sleep - and one to absorb the beauty and energy of the place and the people who keep that energy alive.
I loved it, but if you want a TV in your room - there’s none.
It’s a “Writer’s House”, not a “Netflix’-house”.
But trust me if you will: you will love it.
Cheers!

My mother stayed in the Writer's house for 4 days and was absolutely happy by all the aspects of it. She said that, quote: "The aura of this place totally conquers you... It's like a time travel. Silence, tranquility, cleanliness and hospitality wrap you and carry away from all the awkwardness of modern life".
The hotel itself is located in a Writer's museum in the center of Tbilisi, within walking distance (~5-10 minutes) from Liberty square and metro station there. The rooms are located on the third floor, and although there is no elevator, it can hardly be seen as a downside, since the first two floors are occupied by a museum (two museums, actually: the first is dedicated to the former owner of this house, and the second one is dedicated to the Georgian writers who were oppressed by the government).
Overall, the building interior is unique and very interesting, with many details and items inviting you to stop and check them, connecting to the culture and traditions of Tbilisi and Georgia. A beautiful stained glass window; a mysterious door located near the ceiling; an old staircase with brass handrails; an open terrace overlooking a beautiful inner garden; museum shelves full of carefully arranged display items - all this will definitely take a couple of minutes from you, and you'll never regret that time you spent going through them all.
Each and every one of the hotel rooms has its own unique name and style. Since several rooms were unoccupied upon our arrival, we had a luxury to choose the one we like more. My mother compared both available rooms and decided to stay in the one which looked more traditional. During the four days of stay, she noticed no problems at all. There was no disturbing noise, power and water supply were stable and sufficient, AC was working properly to ensure the comfortable temperature in the room. The furniture and decorations were combined into a perfect match, creating a unique visual experience.

Breakfast is superb - big variety of fresh Georgian cheese, ham, fruit, pancakes, yoghurts, honey, artisanal jam, freshly cooked eggs.
The room was huge, with a sitting area with a sofa, chairs, a desk, all very antique and beautiful. Bathrobe and slippers. Free use of excellent kitchen and several other sitting rooms. The Writers Residency is at the top of the Writers House - a stunning Art Nouveau mansion. Absolutely privileged to stay. Staff also wonderful. Bravo!

Breakfast is served from 9.00-11.00 every day, which means that early risers need to adapt to the local habits. I was met each morning by staff who offered to prepare an omelet and coffee for me. It felt like being a guest in someone's home. Comfortable, friendly, respectful, and delicious. Each room is named for an author and decorated according to the country/era of the author. I stayed in the Steinbeck room - it was lovely, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was completely renovated to a modern standard.
The atmosphere is a dream for people seeking a cultured and quiet haven in the center of the city. I couldn't recommend this more enthusiastically to travelers who seek an inspiring place for thought and creation.
Some patience is needed for the water in the shower to reach an agreeable (warm) temperature.

Good breakfast, large room, big bath, quiet, clean...special atmosphere
No elevator, it should be mentioned in description and in first place, so people know it in advance.

It’s not just the place that I simply adore, but also the people that run it.
It all comes together and creates an unforgettable and very warm experience.
I discovered this hotel in 2018 and for 4 years I’ve dreamt of coming back.
It was such a pleasure for my eyes and heart to see and feel that nothing has changed.
Thank you for everything❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wonderful historic atmosphere. It’s a small hotel that feels cosy and residential. Rooms are spacious. There are nice sitting areas to relax. Neighbourhood is very convenient, near the historic centre, near freedom square and a metro station. Everything worked well including wifi and AC. Breakfasts were delicious and included eggs, breads, cheese, meat, yoghurt, fruit etc. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Tblisi.
Nothing. Some people might want extra conveniences like tv and mini fridge etc, but I think it’s much nicer without.

Beautiful building steeped in history and culture. We met writers and went to a book launch while we were there. The staff were great and cooked us amazing breakfast daily. Best place we've ever stayed in.

Writers house is actually a Museum at the bottom and top floor a small hotel with very authentic and historical feel about it. The location is a short walk from downtown and sightseeing , the staff ( usually 1 ) is very attentive and courteous and they also prepare a great breakfast. I can highly recommend this place.
They could put 4 bottles of water in the room instead of 2 bottles for two people .

Very individual and unusual premises, extremely friendly staff, good location to get everywhere on foot. I arrived early in the morning but the room was made available at no extra cost. breakfast normally served from 9:00 onward, but I needed leave earlier, so somebody came in especially early to make breakfast. That as a nice gesture.
It might be difficult to find your way around, so a little signposting to the residence part of the building would be good for first time guests.
