About this house rental
This magnificent and spacious 4 bedroom home, situated overlooking the beach, and once the residence of an old sea captain, has been delightfully upgraded. This spacious family friendly house has two dining/living areas providing added comfort when there is full occupancy. This property is the ultimate in beach side living where great sea views and wonderful sunsets can be enjoyed from the main dining/living area and from the main bedroom. The house is also a short 5 minute walk to Semaphore, a vibrant seaside suburb of Adelaide, where there are many excellent cafes, restaurants, shops, galleries and the Odeon Cinema.
Local Attractions
This property is ideally located halfway between the Semaphore and Largs Bay jetty’s and is located on Adelaide's beautiful suburban beach line not far from historic Port Adelaide. The area hosts many summer festivals, including the International Kite Festival and the Annual Greek and Spanish Festivals.
There is a mini fun park which boasts a waterslide, mini golf, a wonderful historic carousel, and the famous Ferris wheel of Elvis Presley fame. During summer the coastal steam train is operational which is a special little trip along the sand dunes.
The beach is wide and sandy and perfect for swimming and the Semaphore & Largs Bay jetties are a refreshing walk away and great for observing the local fishermen cast their lines and crab nets. There is also a bike/walking track just across the road from the house that runs along the coastline.
The Port River Dolphin Trail and Port Adelaide Ships Graveyards, only a 5 minute drive away, are two of the many outdoor activities in the area as well the newly established Port River Dolphin Sanctuary. Covering more than 118 square kilometers, the sanctuary will protect a pod of up to 60 bottle-nosed dolphins living in the Port River and surrounding estuaries.
Port Adelaide is steeped in history. There is the Maritime Museum, Light House, New Land Gallery, National Railway Museum, National Military Vehicle Museum, South Australian Aviation Museum and the Australian Museum of Childhood. The Fisherman's Wharf markets are open every Sunday and Public Holidays and there are numerous antiques and collectable shops.
There are also many riverboat cruises and fishing charters available.
Adelaides main domestic/international airport is also only a mere 20 minute drive away if you have to catch that early flight.

A lovely, very large house in an underrated location. Beds very comfortable, well equipped kitchen, and a dining table with sunset view. Spotless, warm (considering a cold spell and high ceilings - the house is centrally heated). We had an amazing stay. Thank you.

This gorgeous stone house with bay windows looks over Semaphore Beach and is walking distance to the main shopping strip of wonderful cafes. The home had everything we needed and more, with ample bedding, beautiful old antiques, fireplaces (one usable), full air-condt, new heated bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen even with a juicer! We all had our own rooms! Even a lovely backyard with barbeque. All you could ask for plus beauty. The most comfortable, beautiful but homely place we've stayed. The owner was lovely and very warm and welcoming. I could live her happily forever.

This was about the most perfect stay anyone could wish for. A beautiful quaint town right on the beach with the most breathtaking views, paired with the convenience of all shops and local right within a beautiful 5 min walk. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you for this beautiful place to visit and stay

What an amazing experience we had in Adelaide over the Easter weekend.
The house was a beautiful mix of new and old with so much space for everyone to relax and unwind in their favorite place.
The sunsets were absolutely breathtaking from the formal loungeroom.
As this is a heritage home, the floorboards are creaky and the house has a lot of echoes which can make it hard to get young ones to sleep but the character of the home makes this all worthwhile.
Would deffinately love to stay again.

The house is spacious and equipped with just about everything you need for a good stay. Thanks to previous reviews we knew a top sheet was not supplied so took our own. The amenities were excellent and the hosts have really put thought into guareenting a wonderful stay. Everything in the house worked as it should to make for a relaxing stay. The only thing missing was the ability to stream tv I took my own chrome cast( not one to watch things on small devices) but the wifi would not allow it to connect.
The location was so convenient , a short walk to every thing we wanted.
Staying at this property was a 100% positive experience.

We all absolutely loved this property. The location, cleanliness, provisions, amenities, size and views were amazing.
We were a group of 8 and some of our group have mobility restrictions but this was not an issue in this property.
We go away monthly as a group for weekends or longer and this has to be one of the most comfortable places we have stayed in. The property also allowed for people to have their own space if needed.
We can highly recommend this property and we look forward to staying there again in the future.

The property is a beautiful historic home with views to the ocean. An easy walk to either Semaphore or Largs.
It is so spacious with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 living areas. It is nicely furnished and had everything we needed.
There were plenty of consumables supplied such as toilet paper, shower gel, detergents and kitchen staples along with spare bedding and towels.
Backyard was great with BBQ and clothesline (need a few new pegs!).
I would absolutely recommend this property and would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved staying in Semaphore, lots of fun and an incredible location. Carolyn was the perfect host and gave attention to detail, we were very grateful for the Easter eggs and condiments. Enjoying meals in the front room while watching the waves was truly breathtaking. There was ample space for the adults and children to enjoy seperate living areas. Thank you Carolyn 🤗

Six adult ladies thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay. Our host Carolyn was readily available to answer any questions we may have had. We messaged her the second morning were there to inform her that the clothes dryer was playing up and was told later when we were out exploring that he had not only dropped in to have a look but had replaced with a new dryer. Semaphore itself was a great place to stay and explore the areas near and far from.
