The location was fantastic. Walking distance to the beach and tourist attractions.
The room was cramped and stuffy. Insufficient ventilation. The breakfast was average.

That it was a well restored heritage building, great position for exploring Puducherry. Quiet but very close to busier areas.
Nothing really. Their food was good but not well advertised so little ambience.

The location is great and the staff is pleasant.
Filthy toilet. No WiFi in the room. Phones to connect to reception never works. Sad breakfast.
When the place was run by the Neemrana group, it was lovely and that’s why I went back. I regret it.

The property in prime location
The room which I stayed is not clean, damp, earthy smell of mold and mildew is due to excessive humidity. I paid around 6.5 thousand it is not worthy for single rupee.

Location and property is good. Heritage style. Hospitality also good.

The building itself is amazing and truly a heritage hotel. In addition, had a very good meal at dinner one night and breakfast was fine. Beds were comffortable and the antiques throughout the place are amazing. The front desk staff were very helpful and very friendly.
The property needs a good touch up with some tender loving care. The walls of the rooms were smudge and needed fresh paint.
The restaurant staff seemed like they had just started and not well trained. Some confusion of orders and not just us but adjoining tables. Everyone took it well as the staff did seem to be trying.

The location and the property (as it was a restored building) stand out.
The quietude is another point, but most good hotels - especially in the French Town area have this feature.
The upkeep left a lot to be desired. Rooms were extremely shabby, furniture gathering dust and cobwebs all over!!
This is an ancient 260 yr old building; but didn't need the above to highlight the vintage!!

It could offer many other things.
The place to have breakfast in hot outside.

Excellent location, Courteous staff , heritage building.
The ac in our room wasn’t working and nothing could be done about it so we had to spend the night sleeping in fans. However the manager was courteous and gave us a 50% refund. the night’s sleep however was disturbed and uncomfortable thanks to no AC :(

location
rooms had spiders, cobwebs, service was very very slow, breakfast was over before time. Idlis were undercooked, very little options for breakfast for the kind of money we paid

the location, cleanliness and staff is the positive feedback for the property
the breakfast spread can be improved. my family was looking for masala dosa

Indian breakfast was great, staff are super polite and helpful, the house itself is gorgeous. Very much somewhere where you could just hang out in the room and have a great time. I saw a lot of people complaining in reviews about bathrooms, but i think important to remember this is a heritage home not a fancy hotel. There are little things that aren't right with the property, but that's part of the charm
Not a lot!

I wasn't too impressed with the breakfast or the kitchen staff. However, I loved my room. It was furnished with antiques and very spacious, and I really loved being in it.
Overall cleanliness of room and facility not entirely the best. Restaurant the weakest link.

It’s a beautiful old building with lots of charm, character and lovely old furniture. It is a short walk to Rock Beach and other lovely parts of the old town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was AC in the room as well as a fan and 4 EU and Indian plug socket’s available to use which was great. The internal courtyard is a lovely place to spend time throughout the day, and is the place that breakfast is served.
Old buildings come with their own set of problems. The bathroom remained damp after showering and towels didn’t dry. We were in the Arcot room which is quite an internal room in the property so it had no cell reception but you could access the hotel wifi. As this is a small property the breakfast options were limited.
