The hosts went above and beyond to make sure our stay was excellent. They were so friendly and helpful, including walking us to the bus stop and making sure we caught the right bus. They helped watch our young children while we were eating, and chatted with us like old friends. The food was great, they supplied us with coca and muna tea to help with acclimatisation to the altitude, and my kids loved the open yard space to play in.
Wifi was a bit patchy but only later into the evening. Otherwise everything was great.

Huaripampa is nicer than Jauja. The hospedaje was okay.
Like another reviewer, I reserved a better room and was disappointed. I booked the more expensive "Superior" room, arrived and was told it was unavailable. I was then given a poor room and told the better room next to it which was empty was also reserved. All without apology. Three times I asked what the new price was, since Superior was unavailable. I was told it’s the same. Same as what, I asked three times. No answer. I was then overcharged by S/ 72 more than posted prices, without explanation. Taxes were also overtaxed. The breakfast people rave about here consisted of 2 breads, cheese, juice and coffee. Ask for anything more and there is an extra charge. Also, you will be electrocuted by the shower, which was connected by an amateur. Moseis is a nice guy otherwise, but stay here at your own risk.

Clean and quiet, and there was wifi available.
They said the room I had picked wasn’t available but still worked to accommodate me super fast.

Moises was a wonderful host… great communication in planning our arrival and making sure we were comfortable the whole time. His homemade, healthy breakfast was delicious. We would recommend this location to anyone traveling in the area.

Moisés was an incredible host! From the moment I got to his vila I felt at home and looked after. I was only staying for one night to be close to the hotel so didn't expect much for my stay, but wow did Moisés make it a memorable stay. His accommodation is beautiful, and you can tell he puts a lot of care into the place. The room was very comfortable and what topped my stay off was the amazing local feast he made for me for breakfast. All local produce and dishes which were delicious, and he even played me a video to learn about Jauja and listen to the tradtional music whilst I ate. One of the best places I have stayed in!
Nothing, it was a great stay!

I’ve never seen a host as gracious as Moises! It seemed he gave me the best he could possibly offer anyone! I had spent the day FREEZING on a long drive up through the mountains and when I got to the hostel and found there wasn’t any space heaters, he brought me the fluffiest, softest, warmest blanket I’ve ever seen - even in the United States! (Even though my bed already had one of those lovely blankets on it already.)
Then he brought me hot coca tea and a thermos of extra water so I could have as much as I wanted and a wifi extender so I could enjoy the wifi better.
The next morning he had fruit and a pancake there and I assumed that was all there was for breakfast but then he brought 2 rolls with cheese sliced in them and then eggs a little bit after! He had what looked like hot chocolate but it was coffee with fluffy cream in it. I don’t drink coffee but it seriously looked yummy.
And he is a kindred spirit! He loves plants, rocks and fossils so we had a good time talking. He seemed to miss the fact that more tourists aren’t coming through, not because he missed the money but rather he seems to really enjoy interacting with everyone.
I just felt he was the most giving person I’ve ever met and if you want to be near the Jauja airport (middle of nowhere) rather than an hour or more from the airport in Huancayo, then definitely this is the place to stay!!
Nothing. But if you want to be around stores, just understand this is very remote and is in farm country.

Customer service is better than what you may find at a 5 star hotel, Moises who is the owner of the property does everything possible for your stay to be the best. Breakfast is very varied and typical and surprisingly it is complimentary. Without exaggerating I would say this breakfast is one of the best i have had in all the trips I have had around the world. Moises uses ingredients that he grows in his property. Since it is a very rural area and it was Christmas time we decided to stay in the property and Moises offered for someone to cook our lunch and dinner and we couldn’t have made a better choice, he played some music on his big tv and told us some stories about the area. We really felt at home. We were going to stay there only 1 day but extended our stay to 4 days. This is a gem. I will definitely stay in Moises’s place every time I come to this town.
