Cosy place in a quiet area of Moshi. Great views of Kilimanjaro from the shared hang out area. Comfortable beds and nice rooms. The owner and the people working here are very friendly and can help with anything, like organizing affordable trips to waterfalls, hot spring and mountainbike trips.

I have stayed at Mountain Bikes House several times. The ambience is unique, many natural materials were used in the construction. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Free Wi-Fi is also available. You can also book day trips for a fair price. After a while, I felt like I belonged to the family. The evenings together around the campfire were especially nice. The breakfast is excellent. During my stay, a lot was renewed and repaired, so the people in charge are very keen to make the accommodation even nicer and develop it further. The Mountain Bikes House has a great location.
You can walk to the city centre within a few minutes. Restaurants, shopping facilities and the Memorial Market, which is famous for Moshi, are in the immediate vicinity. So I can highly recommend a stay.

The place is beautifully designed with natural buildings and has a relaxing atmosphere.
There was no hot shower. Only cold and not cold shower. The breakfast was OK but not great.

Better in person than it pictures, especially at night. Extremey cosy and romantic. I especially love the common area, which is also where the wifi is better and where it is cosier and can hang out even late at night. This place was way better than what i had expected. The location is also perfect and the surrounding was really safe even in the late night/early morning. It is also only a few minutes walk to Redstone, hence perfect if you wanna party! I also loved that it was pet friendly place with cats and a dog!
No hot water and the there's no lightbulbs for the bedside lamps or the huts' mini veranda but honestly was not much of a bother.

Good location at a cheap price.
The staff didn't seem to know much about what was going on, what activities were on offer. I also lost $190 during my stay there from my wallet, which was taken at some point.

The breakfast
Very different from the pictures. Now seems like an abandoned place.
Uncomfortable bed
No water in the morning
No internet connection
It wasn't possible to rent a bike because all of them were broken.
Difficult to communicate with the staff because they don't speak English

The managers are nice and try to help.
The reality of the rooms don’t look like the photos.. there is no coffee and water to drink in the hotel. there is no hot water in the rooms upstairs. Exept for the managers, the staff don’t speak English so it’s very hard to communicate and find help if you need. it’s very noisy all night.

First room was without mosquito net nor windows.. but luckily we were moved to another room, one of the cottages. Very cosy stay in the end, walking distance to Moshi city, great service with nice hangout spots to backpackers, and amazing food. The owner has a restaurant Maisha Khalisi, super cosy spot to visit for dinner as well!

was nice and cosy place. Rahim and Musin were super helpful they helped me plan my staying in Moshi and Safari trip.
as a hostel you expect to find people siting and chilling around. during my time staying there was not the case.

I really liked the fact that I felt really at home in this hostel. I felt safe and really as if it was my home, the terrace is charming, surrounded by nature, the breakfast is delicious and the people are fantastic, they helped me in so many ways to organize my stay. Would 100% recommend it!
There was an electrical shortcut for which there was no light and hot water, but this seems to be a common “problem” of whole Tanzania

Mountain Bikes House is a great place to stay in Moshi! The staff is really friendly and helpful, they will make you feel at home. You will meet many other travellers from all over the world to share some good time together. The location is perfect, not directly in the city center but at a walking distance. The outdoor common area is really cool.
Hope to see you soon!

Amazing place with incredible staff! I visited two years ago for the first time and was so impressed how the hostel has evolved since then. New hang out areas, outside kitchen, more dorms, eco-bungalows etc. Make sure you join the sunset bus ride, we loved it! Best place in Moshi if you like to hang out with other travellers.
Muksin (the owner) is incredibly accommodating, always making sure his guests have everything they need. Breakfast could include more fruits like in the old days :)
