Excellent location for walking Hadrian’s Wall.
The AD122 bus stops just up the road.
Provided a cosy and comfortable base to come home to each day

Everything we could have wanted was there. Location was good being only 2.5 miles via a footpath to Hadrian’s Wall path. Outdoor seating area was pretty. Nice planters full of colour

It was located near family bed comfortable bathroom fine cupboards too high and couldn’t reach crockery not able to climb on step stool floors are tiled so slippy 🥴
In need of a bit of decorating getting tired and better furniture in lounge area rug is a slip hazard

Layout, parking space, good size rooms
Access to parking is tight! Some repainting had begun but is slapdash - wall hangings had not been removed, just painted around, paint had not been removed from sockets and wood-finishes, looks like little care had been taken. Alcoves had been missed etc. Not a good look. Areas of mould had not been addressed effectively - hanging a mirror or picture in attempt to cover is not a healthy idea. We left a list of observations & suggestions to assist housekeeper.

We loved the cottage. Very comfortable sofas and beds - such a bonus in a holiday cottage. Great shower, water pressure and heating. Only a 10 minute stroll into centre part of the town. Haltwhistle itself has great cafes and pubs. A social mention to the Black Bull. The cottage has its own private parking. Lots of comments about it being tight but I have a small car so it wasn’t much of an issue. Finally a thank you to Viv who went above and beyond to try to put little Christmassy touches for us. Viv also made an attempt to install wifi. We had booked it knowing it didn’t have Wi-Fi but the kids were delighted - until it stopped working after a day 🤣 It was her first time with it so I’m sure that will all get ironed out. We are already quite keen to come back during the summer.
Minor things - nothing that was an issue. As we were doing Christmas dinner, we found the knives quite flimsy for most of our cutting and chopping. The front and back door were quite stiff so just be careful - many times I thought it was still locked but it just needs a hard shove.

Excellent location for exploring Northumberland with off street parking and a very competitive price, spotlessly clean.
The TV signal, not that it really bothered us!

Comfy beds. Hot water for shower and sinks. Location except the very difficult parking
Poorly maintained property**. A number of broken items and kitchen equipment that didn't work.
Dreadful parking arrangements - difficult access.
**Free-sat box didn't work but repaired
Water leak from roof onto landing
Shower door handles broken
Socket in lounge not working.
No extractor fan when cooking
Neither tin opener works.
Dining chairs on castors!
Kitchen cupboards ridiculously high
No towel rails in the bathroom

Great location, comfortable beds. Good shower. The garden is a nice place to sit in, if you're lucky with the weather like we were. Alan who looks after the three cottages was really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Haltwhistle itself is the perfect location for visiting Hadrian's Wall, Vindolanda etc.
Nothing to add here, everything was fine!

I loved the location , the simple old style decor and fittings, lots of kitchen equipment. I liked the helpful contact with Lyn who is very knowledgeable and helpful. Also , I did not use my car all week! the 685 bus, ( use stagecoach it is double decker ) , runs hourly and is a beautiful route, and Haltwhistle station is only a brief walk away . Both bus and train run along Hadrians Wall, Newcastle to Carlisle.
Directions to the parking space and key location could have been easier . . . but I'm not good at such things and I was tired and it was raining !
Instructions for white goods would have been useful.

Location really close to Hadrian's wall.

Location was superb. It backed straight on to a stream
The turning circle was too tight for our car. We parked around the corner which wasn’t really a problem

Everything was essentially okish, the cottage is just very dated. The beds and pillows were very lumpy and uncomfortable. The decor needs to be updated, the shower seal was broken. The tiles in the living room make the cottage feel very cold and all of downstairs smells strongly of dog, the cushions need to be washed or replaced as does the ‘rug’ if you’re going to allow dogs to stay. No WiFi. The towels need to be replaced, as do the tea towels and oven gloves.

Parking was difficult. Dripping tap.

Perfect location for exploring Northumberland. Pretty little courtyard garden and lovely walks.
Cottage was very dark - had to have lights on most of the time - but this is not a fault.

The cottage is very well equipped and clean. Everyone we to spoke was very helpful and friendly.
We particularly enjoyed sitting in the small garden watching the many birds... A lovely peaceful setting.
Very little.....
The only thing we found that could be improved was the TV was set too high and wherever you sat you ended up with an uncomfortable neck.

Great location- next to a picturesque stream and walking distance to the lovely town of Haltwhistle. Lots to do nearby. Enjoyed the open air swimming pool and local pubs. Kids loved the sweet shop at the post office! Cottage is well stocked.
Main bed was not the most comfy.

MATTRESS ON DOUBLE BED COULD DO WITH UPDATING

Great communication with the hosts, excellent location. Truly dog friendly. Very generous outdoor space. A shame it rained so much and we didn’t get the chance to enjoy it.
Nothing really. I had forgotten to check if there was WiFi and there wasn’t. I think that helped us have a more relaxed time but one may want to consider if planning to work or do things on line.
