The location was perfect for a retreat, up a hill, in a valley by a stream, overlooked by crags with great views and walks on the doorstep, owner gave us help when required, The cottage had everything you could need for cooking and relaxing in front of the the fire, great starting point for everywhere in the Peaks.

Beautiful, unique location with very good facilities including a good shower.
We loved the character of the building.
The location was excellent for fishing and hiking.
WIFI connection not always reliable.

Lovely peaceful location, cosy cottage, good wifi and smart TV's
The access road is challenging, but peace comes at a price. Fortunately we never met a vehicle the other way, which is not so surprising as the lane is little used, but if we had then the potentially 200 metres + reverse would have been interesting.

Amazing location, very quiet and close to walks. The cottage was quirky and very clean with everything you need. The host was extremely helpful sending out a lot of information about the property.
Staircase was very narrow and the carpet was covering it a bit slippery. Also there was no fan extraction in the kitchen, but I suppose both were due to the fact that is a listed property.

Location was beautiful and the dale is a personal favourite.
Odd annoying consumables missing ( matches -only one in the box, but the one fire we had lit first time so...)The advertised starter pack of firewood was not really there, but the central heating was generous and we brought some logs with us, so not a problem. The dishwasher had no salts but as we don't have one at home it was easy not to use it. We didn't bother our host about these things. The cottage and kitchen was unusually well equipped otherwise..

We never met the host. We knocked on her door to say the shower was not working, and that neither of the tv sets was able to receive a channel. She spoke to us from her upstairs window and said she would fix the problems whilst we were out for the day. The shower was fixed, but neither of the tvs could receive a channel during the holiday.

Bed was a little uncomfortable

The cottage was lovely, it was so quiet and away from it all, had everything you needed for a week away. We sat in the garden a lot of the time.. Debra was very friendly and even though she lives next door, she left us to it. A very relaxing week. Nice walks in the local area.
The paths/steps needed to be cleared of plants as they were a bit overgrown and you had to keep ducking quite low to miss the overhanging clematis. Garden just needs taming a bit

Amazing location it's quiet, secluded, peaceful and relaxing. Is in the middle of nowhere which was perfect and just what I was looking for. My partner and I went for a walk around the nature reserve which is just through the gate at the end of all the cottages. Very muddy but who minds mud when your outside in the fresh air. Few little villages within driving and walking distance. We went to the Red Lion in Litton which we drove to but you can walk. We had all the utensils and cooking equipment needed for our short weekend break, but would be ok for longer. There is a cupboard with games, DVDs and other bits and pieces in and also maps for walks in the area. Theres is a log fire in the living room which is nice but takes a while to get going and heat up to burn a log, would recommend getting extra kindling to get it going. Thanks for a great stay and look forward to visiting again.
Bed was a little uncomfortable. But this is personal preference.
