Underwhelming and overpriced
I usually don’t take reviews too seriously, but here I feel that an honest review would have steered us in a different direction.
The landlady was very friendly. She welcomed us even though we were late and offered us drinks as well as information regarding tourist attractions and parking. That was accommodating and we really appreciated that. The location was excellent and so was the historic building.
The apartment itself wasn't attractive. The floor plan was unfavorable with 2 non-functional kitchens. A king-sized bed in one of the kitchens!! which was not big enough for 2 adults.
The apartment was only superficially clean with some things obviously untouched for some time. I understand that it is a large apartment, and the cleaning therefore more complex, but a lavish cleaning fee was required and paid for.
The kitchen was underequipped. There were pans and pots but no bowls and not a single knife sharp enough for bread, fish or just for slicing melon. we had to go out and buy a knife right after we finished shopping. the remaining kitchen utensils were of poor quality with some of them bending when they were used. The oven seemed new - we cooked 3 times and the power went out twice! We got scared after that and stopped.
The apartment has 3 Bathrooms, ALL of them too small to use comfortably. One of the BRs is so small that you can’t sit on the toilet facing forward, you must sit sideways. The shower is 40 cm above the ground, which makes it dangerous to use because you must jump out if you want to get out and hope you don’t land on the bidet. The shower was superficially clean upon arrival with leftover soap and toiletries of previous guest. The walls of the shower cabin were not clean and full of limescale. The doors were covered in limescale, Orange Build-up and mould that could not be overlooked. The sink of said BR is so small that you splash your feet whenever you wash your hands or face rendering the whole bathroom useless. All three bathrooms had no working surface for our toiletries.
We had 2 mini clothes hangers that are NOT enough for 9 people.
The AC units were good except for the one in the kitchen with the plastic bottle as a drain which overflowed and had to be emptied over and over.
Finally, the beds. What can I say... they were very uncomfortable offering no support to the point that you can notice a dent or sagging under the sleeper's body in the morning.
To sum it up; I am disappointed, and I feel overcharged!
