Disappointed and outraged by the worst experience ever!!

Charles is a very rude host. His guesthouse didn't have running water, the taps were dry and they provided me with 5L water bottles to pour in the toilet whenever you need to flush. No water to shower and fulfill basic needs. I raised this with Charl to understand how he can allow his guesthouse to operate when there is no running water. All he did was to blame on Joburg municipality and a burst pipe. He refused to refund me or to allow me a 1 night discount on my next stay. Not to mention the Wifi which was not working at all. Funny enough, at 3 min drive from his guesthouse, I was able to book another guesthouse which had all the facilities working properly. They were not affected by so called burst pipe and they advised that in such events as a guesthouse they have reserve water tanks to gather for their guests. This was the worst experience ever and I wish nobody to go through such... If there was a rating belong 1, I was going to give it.

Words can't express how beautiful, peaceful and clean this place is. Everyone there made me feel at home and I highly recommend this with a 5-star rate .

The bathroom was too small for my test but good.

Worst interaction I have ever experienced on booking.com “stay”

Didn’t like anything about the property, hence didn’t stay. Do feel sorry for old lady overseeing the property who struggled with her hearing.

Every interaction I had, especially with the son Charles who is the contact for the property. All I wanted was an invoice for the payment which was communicated would be provided, but the he reneged and states “ …. we don’t do invoices.” Enough said ….. worst interaction I have ever experienced on booking.com

Bester übernachtungsplatz und absolut empfehlenswert.

Unglaublich sauber und die Besitzerin ist unglaublich süß. Wir empfehlen die Unterkunft. Wir waren total überrascht als wir angekommen sind. Am liebsten wären wir noch ein paar Tage länger geblieben. Man ist auch direkt an einer Gastronomie Straße.

Perfect. Definitely would return

Rooms are sparkling clean, the house is in a nice quiet area, and only a stone throw from night life and restaurants.

The only issue i had was that i did not have a remote for the tv in my room.

Treatment of his mother wasn't pleasant, senior people should be respected. No shower. No times of loading shedding. No seperate exit needs a sliding door where window is.

I enjoyed my stay here. Most definitely coming back.

Everything about the space was beautiful. My biggest highlight were the mirrors everywhere. The location is very convenient, there are shops, restaurants and a park within walking distance. The room it self was very clean and cosy, the bathroom was very lovely and the closet space is enormous. The hosts were very helpful, gave us the wifi pin without any hassle and also helped us in figuring things out.

I didn't like that to get access to the kitchen utilities like plates or the sink we had to get out of our space and use the hosts' kitchen, it felt a bit like we were intruding but I am glad they reassured us that there was no harm in doing so. The fridge, we found it so dirty that we didn't even use it. There was no mop or floor cloth which we found a bit challenging because we had to ask that from the house too in cases of spillage. This is not so related to the physical space it self, but the pictures gave a very different impression of the space, I only went ahead to book because of the enormous number of great reviews. I almost didn't book because I needed something very cosy and comfortable, and the space on the photos just looked so huge and a little old fashioned, but to my surprise it was just the angle of the pictures used because the space itself is very convenient. I would advice the hosts to upload better pictures which do not over exaggerate the features in a bad way.

Had a great experience of staying in a guest house

I like everything about Charlie's place. It's in a perfect location where you get almost everything around the place its secure. Mostly i liked the host like Charlie & his wife they are over welcoming Their guest the comfortability i get from them i don’t think i ever get comfortability like this in any other guest houses around Johannesburg.

I don’t think there's anything that I don’t like from the place.

Very pleasant.

We did our own "self-catering", so did not use your breakfast offer. The location of the Guest House suited our needs very well - able to easily visit friends.

Disappointing

The place was close to shops n restaurants.

Dirty toilet n dead cockroaches on the floor and by the microwave. Too noisy. Check in was a pain.

The yard is well secured, the environment is very quite and gives one a peace of mind and the bathroom is very spacious, the towels and sheets were clean. The place is very close to the restaurants. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the furniture was of a very high standard as well. There is a very bright torch provided in case of Loadshedding. I will definitely go back there again.

The yard is too small for parking. The owner uses the lounge which is next to our rooms and that doesn't give us much privacy as one would have loved to have. There's no dstv, there was no remote control for the aircon and one was not sure if it is working or not.
