Amazing value stay at Crystal

Fantastic location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Special shout our to the young guy who cut down a coconut and opened it for him to drink. Pool is a cracker too.

Shower needed a repair, and the hotel just needs a little freshen up.

Convenient hotel next to beach

Nice hotel next to Dikwella (Pehebiya) Beach, which is arguably the best beach in the South of Sri Lanka. The hotel is complete with a pool, and the service staff is wonderful. Local Sri Lankan breakfasts are enough for two and worth a try, especially if you like aromatic and spicy cuisine.

Check A/C before accepting room, not all units cool properly. The A/C in our room didn't work the first day, but the manager arranged for a repairman, and it was fine after that.

Wonderful and relaxing

The Hotel was found easily and is situated right next to a fabulous beach. A warm greeting from friendly and professional staff who helped with our bags and gave us a welcome drink. No problems checking in. A good room with clean sheets and towels. Lovely hot water and great water pressure in the bathroom. The AC worked well. The view from the balcony was fantastic. The beds were super comfortable and lots of choice on the TV. Beautiful swimming pool, nice and clean with some sunbeds scattered around. The breakfast was generous and delicious. Checking out was smooth, and the staff helped again with the bags. A few points after reading some reviews - There was no shower curtain, but a drain in the floor(wet room) - so all the splashed water soaked away very quickly. The sheets and towels were not new, but they were clean, fresh, and perfectly usable. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, with very helpful stall. It was worth the money.

There were some marks on the floor of the room, after we informed the staff, this was cleaned very quickly. The bath had no plug, so we improvised.

Great Potential

Location and pool.

Disgusting bathroom. Worn out raggy towels. No sunbed mattresses. Extremely poor food and drink facilities. Generally run down hotel in need of a major overhaul.

Fab location, great staff.

Staff were fabulous, very attentive, excellent breakfast served by the pool with a view of the ocean.

Hotel needs some TLC but it didn't take away our enjoyment, the sea view and fabulous service from all the staff made up for it.

Poor

There was no restaurant facility and the advertised breakfast was completely different to the limited selection that was there despite the listing saying it was available. The sink was damaged and very poorly repaired which looked bad and leaked everywhere. The manager refused to put the generator on for the last day (i guess because we were leaving) so we had no power or wifi. The worst part of the stay was when we left the manager tried to overcharge us for an overpriced taxi he was trying to make money out of a cut for himself and he knew we had no choice as he wouldn’t put the power on for internet so we couldnt even arrange our own taxi.

Probably a good place in the past.

Great location directly at the beach of Dickwella. Very peaceful and quiet neighbourhood.

The bathtub was made of plastic as a quite big person I was afraid to break it when I was stepping in. There was no shower curtain so the whole bathroom was flooded after taking a shower. I didn't let them clean my room because there was a sign next to the bed that said if there is anything of my valuables missing after a cleanup it's not their fault. So definitely hard to trust them. There was a tiny Safe in the room (that was locked) and my macbook would never have fit into this. There was construction work going on during my stay, which was definitely not so nice for my sleep. I had to pay cash in euros for my stay didn't know that beforehand luckily I had that money with me. No international power sockets next to the bed. Had to unplug the tv for charging my devices.

Value for money, pool and beach is great!

Great location right by the beach. Quiet place. Nice swimming pool! The staff was very nice and helpful.

The inside and the rooms need maintenance. Shower did not work, leakage in the bathroom which is a nesting spot for mosquitoes. Didn’t have any meals at the hotel as the menu just looked dull..

not worth the money, disappointing

everyone was pleasant and it’s right on the beach, but unfortunately the negatives outweigh the positives.

honestly it isn’t worth the money. the room was not clean, there was no hot water, the towels were very old and dirty, the bed linnen was stained. if it was a cheap inn I’d expect that but for the money it wasn’t worth it. the restaurant was dead I didn’t know if there was a breakfast option or not. Also the first room I got was half covered in water from the air conditioning and the solution for the staff was just to dry it but the air conditioner was still leaking lots of water. I think the place is old and not very well taken care of honestly. I am sad to say this because the staff of course was pleasant.

Passable

Location was good, right at the beach. Room was clean. The staff was nice and helpful.

Very poor food. We had 2 breakfast, American and Sri Lankan. Both of them very weak and didn't match with the menu, some items weren't served. To both we got a plate of white toast bread with a bowl of butter and marmelade. I would bet, that those bowls were multiple times served to different guests and then put back to fridge or freezer until it was served again. The room was clean, but bathroom wasn't. The whole bathroom didn't pass the bigger cleaning for the long time. The water was leaking from the ceiling, that had big marks from it, including mold. I don't want to sound totally unhappy, the staff was trying to do their best, but these things shouldn't be happening.

pleasant hotel with great pool

technically in Dickwella not Hiriketiya but only a short (at times hilly) enjoyable walk to Hiri, and if you’re looking for a pool it is the most affordable hotel with a pool in the area. staff were very helpful and on hand at all times. large bedrooms with AC and some toiletries offered. chose to eat out so didn’t try any of the food.

WiFi sometimes in and out but I believe that’s normal in the area

Not bad for the price

The staff are super friendly and made us feel very welcomes. The location is right opposite the beach.

Rooms could have been cleaner. A carrpet for the bathroom and shower curtain would be a good idea as the whole bathroom gets wet when you have a shower.

Happy to stay out a lot!

The property is close to the beach and the personal friendly

- all the rooms have an extra (third) bed even if you book a double. - the property is not what it looked like before and a lot of visible patches are being done for years. -we wear staying for 6 night and nobody ask if the room should be cleaned or dusted even though after the 3th day I started asking for fresh towels, a broom and toilet paper. - the property entries are all day closed so we needed the doorman to open the gate all the time, didn’t like to disturb for every entry and exist

Breeze @ Dikwella

Excellent service from the staff, specially from Mr. Rasanga. Sri Lanka need more people like that to improve tourism and gain trust among the travellers. All the best to the hotel to grow further.

owner was very professional and helpfull , beautifull pool looking the sea, cleanig

other staff were very kind but not very well trained to make a good service, we booked a room looking the garden but was looking the car park, and sun light comes troughout the door early morning so not easy to sleep . they take credit cards but they charge 3%, brakfast was a little bit pour for what you pay, considering that 10%service and 15% taxes will be added bathroom need something where you can put necessary objects in the bathroom, maybe some shelfs avoid italian dishes like pasta or pizza there
