It is a nice property in a historic section of town. There was good shopping nearby.
The room did not have any ventilation...no windows to open and no fan. The air felt kind of dead and it was a bit warm the night I stayed.

The Location was best. Close to the Historical District, The Palace, 6th Avenue Street and the main central market. The restaurants and coffee shops were within walking distance.
The Staff were really friendly and gave me appropriate guidance on what is nearby and best coffee shop.
Everything was good.

Nice area and close walking distance to the pedestrian street in Zona 1. The room was huge! Nice little outdoor area with a cafe serving breakfast. The area felt very safe. Close to many restaurants.
The internet was not very stable in room 1 where I stayed, but it did work.

Conveniently located.
Got allocated a room with no en-suite with no toilet on the same floor. Ended up moving into my friends room as they had a spare bed with an en-suite.

Great potential. The whole building needs renovations up to today's standards. Everything from stairs to doors, etc is way way too old.

Owner told me that the bank exchange rate to pay in US dollars was GTQ 7.50. I walked to the bank and learned this was a lie, the rate really was GTQ 7.63 - 7.93. When I showed her the photo she still insisted that I pay at her rate. Then she printed a detailed accounting from Booking.com and insisted I also pay their commission of GTQ 66. After a heated discussion she dropped that condition. When I went to my room, #42, I found that the toilet waste basket had not been emptied, GROSS!! Also, there was no WI-FI. I noticed that I could get WI-FI at vacant room #37, so I was switched to that room. Once again, the toilet waste basket was full and the floor not swept. Also, the electrical outlet was not connected to the wall and was just hanging by two wires - DANGEROUS! In addition, the toilet seat was only held on one side and the shower head was almost completely clogged. Not much spent on maintenance!
See above comments.

A hotel that exceeded our expectations. It has a great location in Historical Center. If you get your car, it has private parking at no extra cost. Employees are really kind. The rooms were clean, with comfortable beds. In general, the hotel has a vintage-old vibe. You can take great pics inside the hotel! It has great gardens and resting areas. Definitely, I will book again if I return to Guatemala. Bathrooms are clean, and warm/cold water is provided. Checkin and checkout processes were really smooth and fast.
The cafeteria remains close. They didn't provide shampoo or body soap.

It was easy to find and the garden view was very nice.
I would have liked to see pictures of the bathroom. It wasn't a closed space. The bed was uncomfortable and I didn't feel like my stuff was very safe.

good value for the price
walkable to "La Sexta" - the pedestrianized 6th Avenida in Zona 1
good size of the room
having a table to work at
friendly, helpful staff
It is an old hotel and is showing its age but that is also part of its charm
It is in a noisy area, but then Guatemala City in a noisy city and the country overall is quite noisy by Western standards.

Dirty room without hot water in shower. So cold inside, uncomfortble

It is a beautiful colonial property built on the traditional Spanish style around three courtyards, each filled with plants and open to the sky. You can sit outside your room on easy chairs in a beautiful garden and read or work on the internet. However, it is run down. This is an antique property, probably inherited by a family that does not have cash right now to upgrade plumbing, and fix up the facilities. The law in Guatemala is very strict about historical building repair and tourism is still very depressed. In the past, it had a cafeteria in the main courtyard. They had hot water, coffee, tea and crackers for self service.
The weather was cold and the rooms are a cold because they open out to the courtyard. The bathroom is small and very tight. I am small but had to sit sideways on the toilet as there was no knee room. A bigger person would have difficulty. The shower runs in an uneven stream. There is no mattress pad on the mattress which is very hard. Electrical outlets are located in several places but inconveniently you have to put the phone or computer on the floor to charge up.

Budget hotel with friendly staff even with limited Spanish/English. Great inner garden courtyard was like a little oasis. Fast wifi in the courtyard but lacking in the rooms. Cafe not open due to covid. Super clean.
Booking.com to include taxes in final price so there is NO confusion on what you need to pay the hotel.
