We were limited to the restaurants and shops that were open after Hurricane Debby. Still had such a wonderful time and loved the cottage! Very cute and cozy , but also, roomy and well stocked.
Will stay again!

Had a great time, make sure to look at the tides so you can use the kayaks each day!

Everything about this home was perfect! Everything they provided was first class from the Maytag washer and dryer to the comfy bed upstairs! The view of the water was beautiful! The spiral staircase was not a problem and we’re both in our seventies! Walking to the Tiki Bar was a real treat and so much fun! We will visit again!
8.0 / 10.0
The Good:
1. Well-appointed property especially the kitchen.
2. WiFi worked flawlessly as it was used daily for at least two hours.
3. Very clean.
The Bad:
1. Queen bed needs replacing, mattress sinks in the middle, not good for two slender adults.
2. Television did not work in family room ... no signal, even though I tried everything, including rebooting the receiver.
3. One bike had a flat tire.
As an aside, be prepared to navigate the spiral staircase. Not for the faint of heart as it's like a ladder!
8.0 / 10.0
As noted in the reviews, the circular staircase is formidable. Narrow in design and very difficult to get luggage upstairs. Our dog could not climb the stairs so I slept downstairs (very firm king pull out) and hubby slept upstairs, comfortable bed. Most of the Cedar Key hiking trails are closed due to the hurricane, and we were disappointed that the shell mound is closed and not accessible. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck and taking a boat trip over to the original Cedar Key Island. They drop you off and pick you up two hours later. We bushwhacked and found the graveyard from the beginning of the last century. It is a 5 minute walk to the cool and funky Tiki Bar. Do bring your food as the closest grocery store is in Chiefland. So sorry for the huge amount damage done by the storm. This house is in very good condition and escaped unscathed,

It was amazing! We have stayed at many places all over cedar key and this was by far our favorite!

Used the Yaks, Bikes, etc. Enjoyed the quiet and seclusion as none of the surrounding properties were occupied. Great eclectic artwork and nautical themed nick-nacks. We loved it. The style of the place and manner of decor remind me of our former property we jad listed on VRBO for years.

The house was perfect. It was clean, quiet with access to the water and beautiful views of the sunset. Our hosts were accomodating and easy to contact. A must stay!

The house was great. Note the comments on the spiral stairs if you have mobility issues; it was tighter than ours at home but was manageable for us. They even had a steamer basket - buy the local clams and enjoy! The location was wonderful and an easy drive/bike ride to town and the waterfront area. We would definitely stay here again!

The place was very clean and comfortable
The view from the back porch was breathtaking and just made your morning coffee or evening cocktail taste that much sweeter.
I’d have moved in and never left if left up to me.
Highly recommend…
We’ll be back for sure

We love this cottage…the new owners have maintained all the former charm, upgraded a few things and have thought of everything you’ll need for a pleasant stay. It has a quirky charm which will appeal to artists and nature lovers- lots of interesting touches/ art pieces. The circular stairway to the upstairs bedroom might be an impediment for some but there’s a sofa bed in the living room. You may think the neighborhood is a bit “ rustic” but it’s quiet and the house looks out on a back bay. We love that we can hop on our bikes and are a short rode to town. Lots of interesting and close by sights on foot, by bike, car or kayak. We’ll be back!

Quick weekend getaway. Enjoyed everything. Great kitchen as well!

This house had very unique and beautiful art throughout. We were a bit disappointed in the overall cleanliness, however. We had to pick up several dead bugs and the tables and chairs on the porch had not been cleaned. Although the sofa bed was described as very comfortable I did not find it so, mainly because of the pillows. It was also very heavy to pull out so we left it open while we were there which made the living area a bit cramped.

Comfortable quiet small house, view of the water from porch. Full kitchen if you want to cook. Living area with recliners and tv. Used the sofa bed to be close to the baby's crib, slept well. No more than 4 minutes to downtown area. Fishing piers in both directions, at main pier and bridge 4. Enjoyed our stay, would recommend.

What a great location for two older folks that needed a break from reality for a couple of days! Enough to do to stay busy and not so much that it's overwhelming! We had such a wonderful time and really enjoyed the vibe of Cedar Key. Definitely going in the books as a win!

The property is as advertised. Clean, comfortable and spacious. It was just two of us but it can accommodate four easily. The only nit is the spiral staircase. I am 6'3"/230 and it was a bit tight getting up and down.
I would stay at this property again if I come back to Cedar Key.

The location was great for us, as we like to walk. We walked all over the place. Weather was rainy but we made the best of it. Nice water view from the deck. My first time in Cedar Key, it's a cool place, don't forget to pack your bug spray.

Loved the porch! Spent the majority of our time there. Sunsets were beautiful and even got to watch some dolphins play

This was our first VRBO experience. It was all positive. Nicely stocked kitchen for anything we may have wanted to make. All kinds of towels and cozy places to rest. We aviators on early August, so having the AC set to 80 made for a first warm night and it took a long time to cool down, otherwise all went well.

Great for a quiet getaway.
This is not a place you go to hang out on the beach, but it’s a great little town with good food and plenty of water activities, such as kayaking and fishing. Perfect for a secluded getaway. We loved the property and it’s amenities.

Hilltop Cottage
The only downside to this property was that it has terrible parking for a boat/trailer and the front door sticks so bad I could barley open it. Besides that the property has a gorgeous view and was extremely clean!
