About this house rental
The home has four floors of open flowing space in which to relax and enjoy beach living with your family. We just landscaped the back yard for family entertainment. Three hole Putting Green, corn-hole and outdoor cooking is ready for you.
Our home is well cleaned and CDC compliant.
During the Summer -June July and August, we do Saturday to Saturday weekly rentals. Linens and five sets of towels are provided during weekly summer rentals.
Other times of the year can be two or more night rentals and you would bring your own linens and towels. (Angie's Linens does rentals.)
The well equipped kitchen has Mission cabinets, a generous center island and granite counter tops. Large kitchen table can seat ten people and the island seats another three at counter island stools. There is an under counter second ice maker, SS Microwave, toaster oven, blender, wine glasses and all amenities for your family and friends.
The kitchen overlooks the two story great room with twenty feet of spacious picture windows facing westward over the back deck, and the canal waterway.
One of our favorite times on the deck is first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee, or towards dinner time with appetizers and a glass of wine - talking about your laid back day spent on the white sands at the beach, or round of golf, tennis pickleball, or fishing.
The Great room has a 65 inch Sony TV streaming YouTube TV with wireless internet for your convenience. Our internet service is Spectrum. DVD player is available and connected to the TV. There are TVs in two other bedrooms.
Convenient beach access with showers is just a short walk away - approximately 400 yards. Additionally, car and golf cart parking is available is desired or necessary. (Travelers can rent a golf cart on the island if desired).
There are many options for runners, and walkers while at OIB with sidewalks galore and natural walkways several miles long located on the East end inland. From our home, my favorite run is to take a Left on Second street, headed east then all the way down to the end of the island, turning toward the inter coastal and running to the gazebo. That is 2.2 miles. Then bring it back... If you run the 'point to point Island Run' from our driveway to the East end, then go all the way to the west end and back to our home, this is a 11 mile route.
Ocean Isle Recreation Park & Tennis is on Georgetown Road:
One mile north of the bridge. Turn there and go 1 mile for 8 hard surface tennis courts with windscreens and water there.
PICKLEBALL: OIB is all in and has six nice permanent pickleball courts just behind the tennis courts .
Nice children's play area as well.: Brunswick County has more than 40 courses and this is before you get to the Myrtle Beach area. Our favorites are The Thistle, Panther's Run, Lions Paw, Carolina National GC, Crow Creek, Farmstead, Cape Fear National, the Pearl West, Sandpiper.
There are several fishing charters at Ocean Isle Beach for both inland (intracoastal inland) fishing or off shore fishing. Or bring your boat with you. the dock will accommodate a boat up to 28 feet.

This property is very well taken care of and set up nicely for families. We were pleasantly surprised by the high chair and stool. If you have young children consider bringing child gates for the multi-level stairs. Host is very responsive and nice to work with. Highly recommend!

We rented this home for a week long family vacation with 7 adults, 1 teen, 1 kid and 1 baby. Everyone fit and the house worked well for our group! We loved the walkability of the location and being on the canal. The kitchen was well stocked and everything felt clean! The ONLY thing I would say a word of caution on would be all the stairs. I could kind of see them in photos but this was very difficult with an 11 month old baby as there was no way to block off the stairs and she’s in a crawling phase. I imagine this would be difficult for elders and kids who aren’t confident on stairs yet. Otherwise, we loved everything about this home and would recommend it!!

This home was exactly what we were looking for. It was very well maintain and provided plenty of room for the 8 of us. It was only a short trip to the beach where we spent many hours. At the home, the dock on the canal allowed for several evenings of relaxation, fishing, and swimming. I would absolutley recommend anyone staying here. The check in/check out process was to easy to be real and the host was very responsive with the few minor questions we had. We would 100% consider staying here again !!!

Our first trip to OIB and the Goffs made it seamless and very enjoyable. They are generous owners and have a very clean and well maintained home.
We highly recommend staying here!

My 3 children, 4 grandsons and I thoroughly enjoyed our week in this comfortable home. The multi-levels made for more quiet. The bedroom size and configurations were all accommodating, along with the bathrooms. Walking to the beach access was manageable for my 5 y.o. grandson and for my 75 y.o. knees. We had fun fishing, kayaking and swimming from the dock. The only hard part of the trip was leaving. We strongly recommend 9 Scotland and the landlord.

Our family of 10 had a wonderful stay July 4th week. Preparation and check-in with the owner was seamless and well communicated. The house fit our needs perfectly. Parking was spacious for vehicles and golf cart (rented). Kids and adults loved being on the canal, utilizing our own kayaks and paddleboard, as well as swimming. Would recommend life jackets for swimming in canal - easy to tell when tide is appropriate for swimming. House was clean, well stocked and spacious. House was very quiet (no loud street noise and even room-to-room was quiet). We definitely plan to return. Beautiful home!

This property is very comfortable and well stocked, a great home for a family vacation. It is a short walk to the beach as well as to Drift coffee shop, OIB creamery, the park, museum and putt putt. The kids had so much fun swimming in the canal. The sunset in the distance was beautiful from the deck.

Everything went smoothly on check in and check out. No issues with the house. All were comfortable and well rested so we could spend most of our time down at the beach. The Dock was a huge benefit. Got a really nice pontoon from FantaSea Boat rentals on Holden beach. They were much better than the vendors we tried to rent from in Ocean Isles - they actually picked up the phone and took the order!

My family traveled to Ocean Isle for spring break. The house was exactly as pictured, bright/cheery and clean. Check in was easy, just given the code to access the front door and that's it...Loved all the decks on the house and the canal behind the house was a great view, got to see a few fish jump out of the water every now and then.
The owners have everything there you would need, plenty of dishes/utensils/pots even though we had paper products so we wouldn't have to wash too many dishes. Hand soap and toilet paper were left which was great. We'd brought cleaning supplies but if needed the owners had left that as well.
Short walk or drive and you're at the beach, which was fun, the kids enjoyed it..
I would recommend this house to anyone the only thing is, if someone in your group has limited mobility it might not be good because there are stairs to climb to access the house, but other than that you'll enjoy this house/area. Oh and we couldn't figure out how to work the water in the jack n jill bathroom (tub) or in the tub in the bathroom off the kitchen.. but we had two other working showers so we didn't trouble the owners since we figured it was our error....neighbors were friendly too...Our group really enjoyed this house/vacation!!!

Great house, just as advertised. Can definitely tell and feel that David and family have put a lot of love and care into their house. Really can’t beat the location on canal and it’s a very short walk to beach, can even walk to restaurants / shops if you don’t have a golf cart. Layout of house was perfect for us. David was very helpful in answering a couple of questions we had prior to check-in

We loved staying at this property. It was very nice, clean, and convenient to everything on the Island. The canal access was wonderful, and our teens enjoyed renting and using paddle boards and kayaks. A Definite repeat place to visit!

We had a great weekend. Didn’t get to enjoy everything that the house had to offer due to only being there for a couple days, but what we did get to enjoy was great!

9 Scotland is great for mulit-generations families.
The little kids and teens had the top floor and adults had all the other bedrooms. The different levels keeps noise down and gives each group space. The living area is big and has a game table! This was our second time there and we hope to come back many more times.

This was an enjoyable place to stay and go to the beach, sit on the deck, come and go on our boat. Really enjoyed preparing and sharing meals with all the kids and grandkids.

We rented the property for a summer family vacation. The house clean and very well stocked kitchen. The furniture in all rooms were in good condition and comfortable. The beach was great, short walk. The water was warm. Great location. Great house. Good value. We would stay here again!

Absolutely beautiful home with everything we needed to have the best vacation. Owner very responsive to answering questions. They made us feel like we were “home”. It was so enjoyable sitting on deck after all kiddos were sleeping.

Seven book club friends enjoyed a fabulous late March weekend in this lovely OIB home! Beautifully furnished, well-equipped and a short walk to the beach. Happy hours on the deck, watching the sunset, were delightful! We hope to return again next year! 💚🏖💛

The home was well maintained as it was clean, spacious, and offered all the amenities we needed. The layout of the home was perfect as it offered 5 spacious bedrooms. The bedrooms on the top floor shared a jack and Jill style bathroom and the remaining bedrooms had separate private bathrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable and my grandchildren loved the bunk beds. The home had a huge back deck great for relaxing in the am or evening. In addition, it had a front deck and two other decks off the first and second floor bedrooms. The home offered plenty of dining space and an array of board games which the adults and children loved. If you are looking for a great vacation home away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds, this is the perfect place. The beach was just a short walk away and the town was a short drive as well. Our family will definitely stay again!!!!

Great location with easy access to the beach. Water recreation out the back door on the canal convenient for kayaking and paddle boarding. Look forward to renting again!!!

We arrived on Saturday and the living room power went out on Sunday morning. We called the owner and he arranged for an electrician to arrive on Monday morning. We had to make arrangements for someone to wait for him.
We ran an extension cord to the living room so we could still get TV and internet. However, on Sunday afternoon the modem died. My grandson called TWC (Spectrum) and they said it would be Friday before a tech could come out. However, they said we could bring the modem to the office in MB and they would trade it for a new one. The owner didn't want us to do that, and it was Thursday late afternoon before the tech came, and again we had to arrange to wait for the repairs. One family member was taking a working vacation and had to purchase a hotspot for her phone and purchase additional data in order to have the internet.
On Wednesday afternoon the air conditioning quit on the top two floors. The HVAC guy couldn't get there until the next day, so the upper two floors were unbearably hot and we had to move family members to the living room to sleep. Once again we had to use our vacation time to wait for someone to make the repairs.
Our family was not responsible for any of the problems. The power outage was caused by corrosion in an outlet, the AC had a clogged drain line, and the modem simply died for an unknown reason.
The contract reads that there would be no refunds for problems with the property, so we didn't ask. However, if I was the homeowner I would have offered to compensate the renters for all the time spent addressing repairs and giving up vacation time to do it.

We were so happy with our stay! The house was nice and clean, had all of the amenities we may need (so happy to see that the kitchen had lots of utensils and extra things just in case). The back porch was wonderful, and a great spot to sit anytime of day. The beach was a quick walk from the house, and the canal was beautiful. We will definitely be back in the future! Thanks again for everything!

We so enjoyed staying at this house. We have 6 little ones, one 18 month old, 2 four year olds, 2 six year olds and one eight year old. They were able to have so much freedom in the house and outside, The dock was the favorite meeting place for the kids. With adult supervision, of course, they could go out in the early morning and just enjoy being near the water. I will have such sweet memories of our two 5 yr old cousins, Breyson and Jayla, going down early and just sitting there on the dock chatting away to each other. We brought 5 kayaks with us and at one time all 5 were in the water with all six kids in them, including the little 18 month old in his own! The dock and canal were my favorite feature!
The inside was very spacious and accommodating for all of us. The one drawback we had was that all the rooms were taken at naptime with kids and there was not a bathroom separate from the bedrooms to use.
One thing that could have improved was that I did notice places that needed dusting. When we reversed the fan flow in the main bedroom clumps of dust started flying. Coming down the steps to the living room I noticed a lot of dust on the top of the lamp located at the bottom of the stairs. Also a key for the inside doors should be available. One of our kids locked the two doors on the top floor and we could not find the key to unlock them. (The child had locked them and came out so there was not one in the room to unlock them!) We ended up have to take off the knobs to get the doors open. A key over the threshold would be nice. (Believe me they did not do that again!)
All in all this was such a blessing to us. We created such wonderful memories with our family from Quito Ecuador, Texas, Mebane and Raleigh NC. Would we rent this house again.... a definite YES! Absolutely loved it!

This house was perfect for my family of 12. The split levels is a big plus when you have a large family, you do not feel like you are on top of each other all week. The dock and access to the waterway worked great. We were able to catch bait fish at the dock the night before and then after fishing the waterway via boat we were able to bring the fish we caught back to the house. The walk to the beach was not bad. There was amble parking at the public access so some days we just drove over in the car. With 6 grandkids we had a lot of stuff to carry to the beach each day!
4.9
Wonderful week at this property! Plenty of space for everyone. We had the best of everything - swimming and boating in the canal and just a quick walk or golf cart ride to the beach.
Furnishings were great and the house had everything we needed for a memorable family vacation!

We go to Ocean Isle every year and this is the first time we stayed at this particular home. We made the right decision in choosing this home. Plenty of space and I like the way the homes differnt levels allowed for us to have privacy for each family member. The kitchen overlooks the family room so if your cooking you can still be part of what is going on.
Closed to the beach house access and on the canal if you want to fish, crab or bring kayaks or your boat.
This is one we will rent again for sure.
Wonderful week at Ocean Isle.
