Lovely 3 story duplex with lofty ceilings and gorgeous ocean views. Home is located near the quiet end of the dead-end street and just one row back from the beach. A quick 5 min walk plants your feet firmly in the North Carolina sand for the day!
This home boasts 5 bedrooms and sleeps up to 10 guests. And with 4.5 baths, there is room for everyone! Dining room table with bench seating on two sides sits 8 comfortably, with 3 additional seats at a low eat-up granite bar - perfect for the kids. (See below for a more detailed breakdown of bedrooms to see if they would properly accommodate your crew!)
Layout:
3rd (top) Floor -> Family room, kitchen, master bedroom #1 with en suite bath, deck offering dazzling views of the Atlantic Ocean and Oceanana Pier.
2nd (middle) Floor -> Master bedroom #2 with en suite bath, private deck, two bedrooms - one queen, one with two twin beds, and additional 3/4 bath.
1st (bottom) Floor -> bedroom with two twin beds, bath/laundry room - shower stall, sink, toilet.
Beautiful hardwood floors on all 3 levels, ceramic tile in 1st floor entry ideal for wet feet! For your convenience, there is an interior elevator with access to all 3 floors.
Private outdoor shower available to wash off sandy feet.
Driveway can accommodate a max of 3 vehicles. Per the town of Atlantic Beach, street parking is not permitted. There is a public (pay) lot on New Bern Street where your daytime guests can park. The beach boardwalk can be used to reach our home. It's a short walk.
This home is equipped with a Roku and wireless internet.
Our home is PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED in between each guest. All hard and high-touch surfaces are cleaned and sanitized for your safety.
WE DO NOT ALLOW ANY SMOKING/VAPING, PETS, OR PARTIES/PRIVATE EVENTS AT THE PROPERTY. Please be aware, any extra charges we incur from our cleaning company to get rid of smoke smell will be taken out of your damage deposit.

The house and location were excellent. The problem was the weather for two weeks. The worst in over thirty years of vacationing there. Something that no one can control. Made our vacation very disappointing.

Carolina Can was perfect for our group! It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We loved being so close to the boardwalk to get to the beach and the view from the top balcony was stunning. Heather was pleasant, accommodating, and very easy to communicate with! Great location, but roach problem with no reply for days from owner. The tropical storm came in and owner didnt reach out to see if we needed anything or to check that we were ok. Left a day early due to power outage. No offer to refund or make any accommodation for these issues.

The location and beach house were wonderful. We’ve been staying oceanfront on Club Colony Drive for the past 10 years but The view is better at Carolina Can!! The house had all of the necessary appointments and many extras like a working gas grill and beach chairs. The outside areas and parking were exceptional and the elevator made unloading and loading a breeze! The only downside was the bottom level bedroom which had no closet space or clothes bars to hang items on, no bedside lighting as there was no outlet on that wall and the TV had no reception. Otherwise the Carolina Can was a wonderful vacation spot for our family and we hope to return there for many years to come. Thanks for making it so special.

Wonderful home. Worked great for 3 families to stay. Places to visit, places to work, places to be alone. Close walk to beach. Kitchen had everything we needed and things we didn’t know we would want. Plenty of bathrooms. Elevator was a life saver for unloading and loading. Beach was lovely. Would recommend to others.

Wonderful!
Just as promised. This home was just right for 4 couples. Plenty of space. We enjoyed the big dining table for dinners and playing cards. The ocean can be viewed from both level 2 and 3.
A fun Bonus was the Oceanana Pier close by. We visited every day and enjoyed chatting with fishermen and women, and the outdoor bar was cozy and friendly. I would go back to this property!

My husband, family and myself had a great time in this lovely duplex. The views were impressive from the 3rd floor living area and porch. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in and the elevator was so convenient to use. The bedrooms and bathrooms accommodated our family well. Heather was so helpful with her emails and responses to any questions we had. We would be happy to rent this home again.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely property. It is on a quiet stretch of AB just like we like it! It has great views of the ocean and beach from the upper deck and dining/seating area. It is only a short walk to access the beach. Highly recommended!!

Loved it!
The location of this property is ideal for a family vacation at the beach. It is nicely and comfortably furnished, adequately equipped, with a beautiful view and a very short walk to the ocean. With the oldest of our ages in the 70s, the elevator was especially appreciated, and the youngest loved being next to push the buttons! The owner was responsive in a very timely manner. Our family has vacationed on this street for decades and found this to be a very enjoyable experience. We'd love to vacation here again.

We loved the layout, space, bedrooms, kitchen and deck of this property. Great ocean views from the top floor. The property even has an elevator to help haul luggage and groceries up to higher floors. We loved our stay and communication with Heather was easy and fantastic. We will likely be back next summer.

Easy access to beach. Great beach chairs provided by owner, end of a street so minimal traffic. We had a boat over at Anchorage marina so very convenient for us. Worked great for family of 8 with bed to spare. Elevator was a plus.

Thanksgiving 2020
We had a wonderful socially distant family gathering at the beach. Carolina Can is even more beautiful in person than in the photos! The porches are great with rocking chairs to enjoy the view and the ocean breeze. With Covid concerns, we spent as much time as possible outside so we really appreciated the clean garage and sheltered drive. We had our family meals there. Heather was friendly and super quick to respond to questions. We would definitley stay here again!

We really enjoyed our time at Heather's home. It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The views from the upper deck were wonderful, and the proximity to the beach was great. This house really feels like a loved home, and is beautifully decorated and cozy. Our little kids loved the elevator! We would stay again if we go back to the Emerald Isle/Atlantic Beach area.

Perfectly clean and the best location
We stayed here for a long weekend, and it was perfect. We stayed with another family, five kids 8 and under between us. The layout of the house was perfect- with plenty of room for everyone. The home was so clean and had everything we could possibly need. The beach access was close, and the views from the third floor balcony were nice. We hope to stay there again soon!

Beautiful Atlantic Beach vacation!
Heather's "Carolina Can" house is beautiful and the location is ideal--just a short walk (about 3 minutes) to a wonderful, quiet stretch of Atlantic Beach. The double-decker porch was wonderful and the ocean view amazing! Although we brought almost everything we would need for the week, there were so many extras already available--beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards and a small surf board, and sunscreen if you forgot your own! There was hand soap in every bathroom and laundry detergent in the auto-dispensing washing machine. I cannot think of a detail that was overlooked. We enjoyed a great week!

Wonderful Christmas Holiday
Our family of 9 enjoyed immensely our 2019 Christmas holiday at your property. Your home was well-stocked and suited our needs perfectly with one small exception which became the joke of our stay. There was no potato peeler in the kitchen which made preparing our Christmas turkey and ham dinner with mashed potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes a challenge. But no worries. We found workarounds. It would have been nice to have some kind of a mixer or potato masher in the kitchen though. Again no worries because we brought our own. But from a rental standpoint, the home was very clean and very accommodating. There were four children and five adults in our group and none of us had a complaint. We enjoyed adding our own Christmas decorations, making gingerbread houses, and painting seashells. The elevator was a bonus which made loading and unloading much easier. We would recommend this home for any large family gathering summer or winter. Thank you for offering your home to us.
