About this house rental
This secluded mountain home is a great place to unwind and get away from it all. Surrounded by forest and with six bedrooms (2 kings, 2 Queens, 1 Double, 1 with pair of twin bunk beds, and even 1 pull-out sofa bed) it is ideal for families reuniting or groups of couples who want quiet surroundings. There are three separate living areas ( a large formal living room with 2 fireplaces, a cozy TV room off the kitchen, and a large TV/ping pong/play room in the basement) which means that there is room for a rousing group board game, but individuals can still find a cozy corner to curl up in front of a fire with a book or a movie.
For those interested in a bit more activity, hiking abounds in the area; in fact, you can walk out the front door for an easy 45 minute hike to Stewart Falls, or you could conquer Mt. Timpanogos (at 11,752, it is the second highest mountain in Utah's Wasatch Range). Also Robert Redford's Sundance Resort & Spa (with mountain biking, zip lining, yoga, massages, and summer theater) is just a 5 minute drive down the road, the Provo River with river rafting and world-class fly fishing is 15 minutes away, 2 Soldier Hollow Golf courses are 25 minutes away in Midway City, and Park City is a mere 45 minute drive northeast.
And don't forget the Hot Tub!! No matter how you spend the day, as the sunlight fades, consider enjoying a dip in a hot tub under the stars on our private main deck or head down to The Owl Bar at Sundance for some live music.
This warm and inviting cabin makes the perfect home base for adventures further afield or for just relaxing and escaping from busy modern life. Amenities include:
Board games, puzzles, darts, ping pong, books, & horse shoes
Wifi, Netflix, DVD players, & a vinyl/CD/aux stereo system
A fully stocked kitchen (pots, pans, dishware, utensils, etc.
Dry firewood
Washer/dryer
Plenty of bed linens and towels
And extra flip flops for the hot tub (in case someone forgets a pair!)

Had an awesome stay here for a wedding weekend with some friends! Larry and Mary were extremely helpful and communicative. We got to check in early to drop off our stuff and were flexible with checkout. The house was great and we loved the hot tub area. Highly recommend to all!

We do an annual murder mystery weekend with some friends. It was perfect! The living room was a perfect gathering space. It had enough seating, there’s 2 different TV Watching areas so we were able to watch what we wanted. Mary and Larry were kind enough to let us come up a little early to check it out before hand. They are so nice and so easy to work with! Will probably come back next year!

This property was just what we wanted for our couples' getaway this year. It felt spacious and homey. The furnishings were comfortable and good quality, though we wished for brighter reading lights over the living room chairs and a chair in each bedroom would have been appreciated. The beds were mostly king and queen and comfy. We appreciated the nice electric baseboard heating in each room that we could adjust individually. There were plenty of games and books for all interests. We brought a home slide show that we enjoyed watching on one of the large TVs. The kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked; the appliances worked well..
We loved the hot tub on the outdoor deck surrounded by nice lights strung around the area. The forest setting was private and secluded; there was a minimum of sound from neighboring properties. Most of our group made the short and easy hike to Stewart Falls from this property. .
A downside was the narrow and not well-maintained private community portion of the road which ascended to the property. Our car was not 4-wheel drive so navigating and parking was a minor and understandable challenge, given the slant of the mountain.
The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. All in all we were very pleased with our lodging and we are definitely considering renting this property again next fall!

This was a fun getaway for my family. This felt very much like what it is;a much-loved vacation home. The beds were comfortable, and we were provided with plenty of linens and everything needed to cook. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing in the evenings and there were endless games and a wonderful vintage collection of vinyl. One suggestion, if you go when it is unseasonably warm; bring a couple extra fans. There is obviously no A/C and we went when it was crazy hot, evening the mountains. Two fans were provided, but a couple more would have helped keep the four upstairs bedrooms cooler in the afternoon. Not a huge issue since we were only in the rooms to sleep, and as soon as the sun went down they cooled off quickly. Overall, this was an amazing experience.

We had six adult couples come from across the country for a sibling reunion here. We all loved our stay in this home. Plenty of comfortable bedrooms, a large living room, a well-supplied kitchen and a hike to a nearby waterfall made our trip most enjoyable. I would love to rent this again.

The house is large, with a good floor plan, and it is nicely furnished. There are other cabins in the area, but trees screen them nicely, and the place feels secluded in the dense woods. It easily accommodated our crew of 9 adults, 5 kids, and a baby. A spa, horseshoes, ping pong, darts, and lots of games kept the kids occupied. The place is fully stocked with kitchen supplies and household items. The hosts are very responsive. We had a perfect stay in a gorgeous setting!

We had a great time. The home is comfortable and welcoming. Lots of activities for all ages. The surrounding forest can’t be beat. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

We had a lovely visit at this home, it’s a beautiful setting. It didn’t get too hot with the fans and windows open. There were some spiders in the bathroom in the first floor that may come with cabin living ! There was food left in the fridge that made it awkward to know whose food or whose. Overall a great place. Driveway and roads are a little steep, could be challenging in the winter!

Family Reunion
The home is large and well maintained, we had plenty of room for 3 families with small children as well as grandma & grandpa! Excellent hiking nearby, there was also a great splashpad for the little ones in nearby Orem, Utah. There is a grill outside as well as a nice kitchen for meal prep. We visited in July so it was quite hot, there is no air conditioning but fans were supplied. We had a great time and would consider renting again if we repeat the location next year.

We came to Mary Pat’s house for a quick weekend getaway celebrating a friends 40th bday! It was the perfect location to visit Sundance resort, hike, float the River, etc. The house was even better than pictured with plenty of space and a cozy, secluded feel. The hot tub was a great bonus! Mary Pat was very communicative, giving us a heads up on directions around weekend construction. I would recommend and love to stay again sometime!

Our family (children and grandchildren) stayed for a week and loved it. It is a beautiful location! The home is well maintained and the home and kitchen are well stocked with everything you might need. Just a short hike to Stewart Falls and easy access to the canyon was my favorite. The hot tub and deck are wonderful. The house has wifi but no cell service in the mountains, so set your phone settings to WiFi calling on. Driving up some steep roads and parking was a little challenging for city folk. We loved our stay.

Wonderful Property, great home, peaceful setting and glorious mountain views on drive there
We found the home and property to be even better and more packed with things than advertised. The Hot tub was on a large deck that was nestled among the trees. This put it about 30 steps from the home, which is just the right distance to give the feel that you are alone in the mountains and the trees. With the fresh snowfall, it was breath taking to sit in the hot tub and view the mountains and landscape. Both parents and kids enjoyed time relaxing in the hot tub as light now fell.
There were 4-6 fireplaces inside, all stocked with wood or candles. On one night, we did light a fire in just one of them and it worked great. There were two kitchen tables, on in the middle of the kitchen, by the stove and cupboards that made a nice small setting for cozy breakfast of 5 people, then a larger table just on the other side the kitchen island that could seat another 6-8 people. This provided room for eating at one and playing board games and cards games at the other. (But, for dinner, we ate at both tables, kids at one, adults at the other.)
The ping pong table was great; they also had a dart board that was fun.
The bed rooms were all well appointed with plenty of blankets. The beds were very comfortable, not to hard and not too soft. The one room downstairs with 4 bunk beds was great; my two daughter were there with 4 boys between them and they went into that room and slept well.
It is at the end of the road, after a climb up a mountain road, so it gives the impression of being out in the woods, alone, (there is a house across the road, but you don't really see it since all the views are to the mountain side. If you want a true mountain experience with all the comforts of home, this is the place to go.
