We have been here before and every stay is a great experience. Great location for visiting our family and close to Gig Harbor and Bremerton. Deck is very scenic for being right on the water. We will be back.

If I could give 10 stars I would starting with the host Kim she is A plus home was very nice and comfortable ,but the double deck is where we spent most time watching seals and Sea Otters we heard a whale but to dark to see.

Well appointed. Everything we needed was supplied. So nice not to have to run to grocery store for paper towels and napkins. Saw sea lion, otters, seal and dolphins from huge deck!!

We always have a wonderful stay at the Gone Fishing Cabin. A week filled with peace & serenity - so beautiful! The cabin is very well appointed & comfortable and just outside marine life is passing by the deck. Walks on the beach when the tide is out - are incredible! Looking forward to the next time we can go back!

While this was our first rental through VRBO, we have stayed at many vacation homes over the past few years and this cabin was the cleanest and most well organized home we've ever seen. Very comfortable! 5 stars on everything - heartily recommend .
We loved our stay - very relaxing with beautiful views. Cabin is well appointed and decorated with lots of fun signs and nice touches.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Gone Fishin' cabin. The house was very clean and well appointed, we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Our kids loved the extra toys, playground and crab shack. They also loved being right on the water so we could play in the sand and dip our toes in. Our dogs enjoyed lounging on the fenced in back patio. We adults loved sitting and just watching the water and wildlife. The private neighborhood beach down the way was a short walk and sandy for the kids to dig. We even got to see some low tide animals when the tide was out. It was a truly wonderful time and we would book again.
A few things that are useful to know:
The drive up to the neighborhood has narrow and hilly roads, it was fine for us but it wasn't walkable. The road the cabin is on is narrow but the driveway is set up to be able to turn around. The beach directly in front of the cabin is only present during low tide, there is a large rock break-wall that you can climb down. It was so nice to have beach some times and then water to swim in off the break-wall later in the day.

Gone Fishing' was such a terrific place to stay for 10 days. It's outfitted with very nearly everything one could want. The neighborhood is quiet, away from people and traffic. We especially liked the spacious kitchen and deck. The large dining area gave both of us plenty of work room. The setting, right on the water, was absolutely beautiful at all hours. We would definitely stay again when returning to the area.

No matter the weather, this place is great as a quick get away from the city. So relaxing to just sit in front of the fire and watch the water. We had a power outage and the owners were great with looking up the expected fix time for us - very communicative. I cannot say enough nice things about this place. We have already booked our next stay!

We stayed here for nearly two weeks and loved every day of it. The cabin had everything we needed to relax, cook holiday meals, and enjoy the property. Of note: we worked remote from here -- the internet/wifi was error-free, plenty of bandwidth for Zoom meetings.

Really, this is one of the best properties I have ever stayed at through VRBO. The setting is perfect, it is absolutely stocked with EVERYTHING you could ever want, and the owners are super responsive and very nice. We cant wait to come back - I already miss our daily seal visits. Really, if you want the best weekend away, choose this place.

The house was great! The neighbors were pleasant, and being on the water was really neat and different for us Midwest folks.
I rated 4 stars for location, though I'm not sure there could be a 5 star location based on the area's geography... The drive in and out of the neighborhood was not the most convenient, and i think because we are from the Midwest i just assumed something different. Once we got our bearings of the area things flowed much more easily.

The property is exactly what we were looking for. Two toddler boys and needing to relax we couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect.
This cabin is the best overall family home we have ever stayed in.
We have already planned for returning for another get away soon.

My husband, 4 year old twins, our dog and I drove out from MN and spent two and a half weeks here. It was absolutely perfect! A beautiful home right on the water and so quiet and peaceful. My kids had a lot of fun with all the toys, books, crab shack and playset. The sandy beach down the street was perfect and we spent many hours there. We also saw a lot of seals and bald eagles right from the deck of the house. The location was also perfect for being able to do day trips to Seattle and the national parks. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Our family met and stayed together here and fully enjoyed ourselves! Plenty of outside living area for everyone to be together or have some space. We fished off the deck at high tide, combed the rocks at low tide, and had an all around great time. Easy to hop on a ferry to get over to Seattle(or drive), easy to get to national parks, and nearby Port Orchard has all your shopping covered.
Inside has a stocked kitchen which we utilized for a few seafood dinners, with beautiful views out the windows across the Sound. We enjoyed the binoculars next to the windows for spotting things out in the water- including a curious sea lion who kept coming by to check on the kids. We BBQ’d and enjoyed the fire pit with seating nearly every night as well. Was a wonderful relaxing getaway at this peaceful retreat!

Your beach house is cozy, yet has all the necessary things for a perfect family vacation. It was amazing. Great memories!

We had a very enjoyable stay. It’s probably the best stocked rental we’ve ever been to. Beautiful views and very relaxing, especially the hammock. The swing set outside and the toys inside were perfect to occupy our two year old granddaughter when she and our daughter visited during the day from Tacoma. We were treated to a glowing full moonrise sparkling over the water on two nights. Sunrise is great too if you’re up. Watched all sizes of boat traffic including kayakers and saw an occasional seal. Missed the whales that others said came by one day. Walked the shore at low tides and were impressed by the community beach. Beds were comfortable. No complaints. We would definitely recommend staying here. Just carefully watch toddlers on the back deck steps.

This property is an incredible find! My husband, two young kids (5 and 8) and I visited for 3 nights and wished we’d booked for a whole lot longer! The home sits RIGHT on the water with the most amazing views. It’s so calm and serene. When the tide was in we enjoyed fishing off the deck and when it was out we combed the beach for treasures and played in the sand. Lots of seal sightings!
Upon arrival our kids basically disappeared to the Crab Shack/play structure (which is eye shot from the home and deck) which gave my husband and I an unusual amount of time to relax. This continued throughout our stay. There were all kinds of kids activities provided: kites, buckets/sand toys, kids books, blocks, train set, vehicles, etc.
The home is well stocked with the basics you’d expect plus quite a few pantry items/extras that aren’t typical for rentals. The host was wonderfully communicative and allowed us a late checkout.
We will 100% come back to rent this property again. Just bummed it’s booked already for this summer. Some people are going to be very happy with their decision!

Loved the layout of the house. It rained most of the time but still so gorgeous to sit in the living room with views. Ideal location for my 4 year old, so many kid amenities, crab shack play room, bunk room with toys, beach with a stream, swing set, and more. Would love to stay again.

Happy to call this cabin home for a few days. We appreciated the outdoor space for the littles. The chilly mornings didn't seem to deter them from exploring outside. We were excited for the tide to be down and the sun to be out one afternoon, so we were able to explore below the rocks in front of the cabin- so many little crabs to be found!

The Fishing Cabin was even better than it was presented. Clean, well stocked, great location on The Sound, no traffic noise (no traffic) a playground and clubhouse for the kids. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was the best stocked I have seen. Great place and wonderful/respectful/available hosts. Hope to go back soon.

My family had such a great time at this property. The house is so cute, and the deck is amazing. We sat around the fire pit each night to watch the moonrise, and sat on the deck each morning to watch the sunrise while we sipped on coffee. Communication with the hosts was easy and prompt. We’re already talking about our next trip to the Gone Fishing Cabin!
