Saint Rémy de Provence, a small town in the Alpilles Regional Natural Park, invites you to discover its riches: culture, heritage and festivals.
In the Provencal art of living capital where Nostradamus was born, you will find: gastronomy, local products, olive oil, "AOC les Baux de Provence" vineyards, crafts, the Provençal market , artists, beautiful boutiques and art galleries, nature walks and hikes, places painted by Van Gogh, the Roman archaeological site Glanum, traditions: a Christmas in Povence, Transhumance, festivals and 300 days of sunshine year !!!
Located in the heart of the Alpilles, Saint Rémy is one of the must of Provence. Its green and subtly scented valleys, its beautiful tastefully restored residences and its charming old streets have made its success ...
While strolling quietly through its narrow and winding streets, you will come across beautiful old fountains, small shaded squares welcoming pleasant restaurant terraces and elegant shops
From Place Jean Jaurès at the gates of the old town, you will follow a long succession of private mansions (often converted into a museum or art gallery), convents, chapels, and sumptuous 17th and 18th century residences.
The beauty of its landscapes and the quality of its light have inspired many artists, writers and painters.
The most famous is undoubtedly Vincent Van Gogh who painted more than 150 paintings in the countryside surrounding Saint Rémy de Provence
A walk on the places painted by the artist will allow you to discover the mountain of St Rémy, the fields of wheat and poppies, the olive trees and the cypresses which remain imperturbable more than a century later.
Saint Rémy de Provence, city of history, is built on one of the oldest archaeological sites in Europe. The vestiges of the Comptoir de Glanum founded in the 3rd century BC, then altered by the Romans under Julius Caesar. They bear impressive witness to the successive civilizations here. You can visit the large thermal baths, the long residential avenue, the temple and the natural source of a true Gallo-Roman city dating from 30 to 10 years BC. Two important monuments are visible near the site: the Arc de Triomphe and the Mausoleum of the Antiques.
Lovers of old stones, art and pretty boutiques will be at ease in Saint-Rémy. The beautiful properties around Saint-Rémy and the shaded terraces of Place Jean-Jaurès have also been hosting part of the show biz for several years. Far from the crowd of the coast, artists and celebrities can quietly appreciate the sweet atmosphere of Provence that we find here in Saint Rémy. As soon as you arrive, your turn will be seduced, that's for sure ...!
To see, to visit:
Glanum excavations (Gallo-Roman city).

Pleasant apartment in central location
We enjoyed a lovely week here, and the owner did everything she could to make us comfortable, even helping to do some washing as there is no washing machine in the kitchen. Mireille provided us with some treats on arrival - notably the local almond pastries, sacristains, that we fell in love with! In spite of the fact that we spoke little French we managed to communicate and learn what we needed to know about the apartment. Mireille took us to the car park, making sure we knew the way, and pointed out some good places in this lovely town. The apartment has some nice touches: pretty china, some good furniture, efficient air conditioning (it was a very hot week), and a comfortable bed. The town is a good base to explore the area, and if you don’t want to drive there are buses to Avignon and Arles.

You must stay here!!!
My family (Hubble, 9 year and 7 year old) and I stayed for one week. The apartment exceeded our expectations. The children had their own loft bedroom which they loved. We had our own separate bedroom. Beautiful furniture. Fantastic kitchen with everything you could wish for. Lots of lovely little touches such as fresh bakery items, fruit and wine on check in. Free parking very close by. We miss our connections with the friendly lady owner and the beautiful apartment. We are all very, very sad to leave. A very unique, quiet place metres from shops and restaurants. A large apartment with space to come together as a family but also space to yourself. You will love staying here. Very reasonably priced given the facilities and located in the gorgeous old town. 5 star accommodation in the heart of Saint Remy. Can’t say enough about our wonderful experience ... you need to experience this yourself!’

A large apartment in a great location!
The property is situated in the centre of St Rémy de Provence in a very quiet, pedestrianised street. Both the main living area and the bedrooms are large rooms with excellent air conditioning - which is crucial in July and August! The kitchen is very well equipped and has an oven, 4-ring induction hob and microwave. There's no need to cook, though, as there are so many shops and restaurants all within a short walk of the property. The property was very clean and towels were changed mid-week. The very friendly owner lives in the same building so is immediately available if you need any help or advice.
I would certainly recommend.

Perfect location
What a lovely apartment in a perfect location. And besides that it has air conditioning which is great on a hot summer day. Our hostess was so sweet. She brought us flowers and made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this property.

Excellent stay in the heart of St.-Remy-de-Provence
This second floor rental was located on a quiet street in the historic district of St.-Remy-de-Provence. The living and bedroom areas were spacious, and the eat-in kitchen was well equipped. All the essential elements, including air conditioning, worked perfectly to make our stay very comfortable.
Upon arrival, pastries and fresh flowers greeted us. Our hostess was very professional, communicative, and most helpful. She assisted us with parking and other items during our entire stay.
There were multiple restaurants available in the town, and the location was ideal for exploring the surrounding region.

Location parfait.
Perfect location for us.
Mireille Garcin est tres simpa et genereux.
She speaks pretty much no English so having some French will help.
A full week here was perfect. We could have stayed another. Wednesday market is a highlight.

Lovely apt. In centre of town
The apartment is lovely with good space. The owner met all our needs promptly. The town is beautiful and the apt. Is. Dry. Enteral so you can walk everywhere.
The internet is off and on so that was problematic at times. Advertised as having a washing machine but not in the apt.

the apartment is very lovely spacious and very comfortable.
We stayed at Mme Garcin's apartment for 2 months and we loved every day of it. The apartment is very comfortable and spacious, giving us room to each have our own space to retreat with a book, meditate, paint or just do nothing when we needed a rest from sightseeing. The kitchen is well appointed, so are all the other areas. We really felt at home away from home.
We loved St. Remy, the market on Wednesday, the surrounding villages and towns nearby on our list to see. The area is rich in culture and people are so friendly and elegant.
Mme Garcin is very special, helpful with anything we needed or ask about. We would love to go back for an even longer stay.

Fabulous apartment in brilliant location
We are biased because we love Provence and St Remy especially. Mireille was so kind and helpful. The apartment has plenty of space and everything we needed to self-cater. Free parking is about 100 m away and a supermarket just along the street. Highly recommend and will return. Merci beaucoup.

Beautiful spot, great location
The apartment is lovely: spacious, airy, with beautiful old furniture, a well equipped kitchen, great shower & a very comfortable big bed. It's very quiet, day & night, but only a few steps away from the many gorgeous boutiques & cafes in St Remy. Mme Garcin was extremely helpful when we arrived, taking us to the nearby parking area and presenting us with a bottle of wine, fresh strawberries & delicious pastry. Very welcome after our long journey. We are throughly enjoying our stay & would love to return.
