Welcome to Poindexter Cottage - 20 Firefly Lane
Beautifully decorated with 2 living areas and a fantastic outdoor space with a ping pong table in the back yard!
This is the epitome of a family-friendly home. With access to Firefly Park and an intimate dining area, the whole family is sure to be pleased! There are 4 bedrooms for ample sleeping space, especially the bunk room with space to sleep as many as 6 kids.
The downstairs master bedroom features a king bed, and a second downstairs guest room that features a queen bed. Upstairs, you'll find a bunk room equipped with full and twin bunk beds with trundles and the fourth bedroom has a queen bed. There is a downstairs living area as well as an additional second living room upstairs. The kitchen area has a dining room table that seats up to six. The home sits right on Firefly Park and has a fitting porch with wooden bench swing and additional seating. The backyard has its own private fenced in area with room to run, use the outdoor ping pong table and light up the charcoal grill.

Three families shared this home. The park being right in front of the house was awesome for the kids. I also loved the short walk to the meeting house. The beds were comfortable and AC worked well. The additional living space upstairs was great for the kids. The plastic Adirondak chairs in the back yard were almost all broken and upon sitting in one we thought was ok, the back broke off and the person fell to the ground.The bunkbed room is great for kids, however both trundle beds cannot be pulled out and used at the same time. There just isn't enough room. We had to call out maintenance several times for a backed up tub upstairs, but the management company was very responsive.

Poindexter house was the perfect house for my family. The backyard was an unexpected surprise, and made a great SHADY place to host a family dinner gathering. The AC worked great... it was very hot the weekend we were there, and it felt so good after a day outdoors. Cottage Park and Firefly Park were both great for our family reunion games and visiting. We rented hold carts for our group (4 houses worth) and that helped to get around the community.
The hard part was finding Poindexter house .. for us and for our families.
We found Firefly Lane, but could not see the house address easily. The Lsne is more like an alley, and of course, the front door opens onto the park. It was frustrating for all. I’d suggest a nice address sign that is easy to see.
I want to come back, with family or a girls trip!

Great time
We had a nice visit to Carlton Landing again. We have rented multiple houses there and this one was very nice too. Some properties don’t have covered parking but this one did, for two cars. The host was responsive and we would absolutely recommend.

Our family met at Carlton Landing for Christmas. We had 3 beautiful, fun-filled days! Our teens played volleyball, ping-pong, basketball, and football on the field on the field in front of our house. With warm sunny days it was close to perfect! Amon was great to work with, as she was ready to help with anything we needed.

This was our 3rd visit to the Poindexter cottage. The upstairs air did not work, but I will admit, it was fixed by that evening. There was some pretty stinky trash (Dead fish or something was in there)and the can was full. We had to take our trash with us There was no soap for the dishwasher and the house was not very clean (grass on the bed, pet hair and the rug in the living room was filthy like it had not been swept in sometime. I just expected more for $700 a night. I will say all the employees I came in contact with were genuinely nice and pleasant.

We shared Poindexter Cottage with some family friends. There was plenty of space for each of our families. Having the big green space right in front was great for our kids. And the house isn't far from the pools or the swim beach!

Summer 2020
We so enjoyed the flexibility of this property. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. We boated, swam in all the pools, enjoyed the rental options, and played on the beach. Thanks, Carlton Landing, for a wonderful getaway.

Overall, loved carlton landing. had terrible experiences with staff. was promised discount for issues. have been ghosted by the staff post stay without any discount. wasn't able to check in for an hour and a half after normal check in. cleaning crew was running behind and was very rude.

Perfect family home in a great lake town!
We rented this home for my family (3 adults and 3 kids), and we had more than enough space. The home was beautiful and clean. The downstairs provided a great kitchen/living space for socializing while on vacation. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all clean and updated. There was also an upstairs living area that was a perfect place for a kid to watch movies in the evening. The front porch opens up onto a park where there are often kids playing and adults socializing. It was a perfect place for my kids to play. The entire town of Carlton Landing is built for families. From the home, you can easily walk to a pizza place, the local coffee shop/meeting house, and the swimming pool, and you can easily access the lake. We loved our stay here and we would absolutely stay again!

There was just one issue but it was pretty big one for us. Several of us work remotely and needed to be online to work and this is where the issue was. We were able to connect to WI-Fi but had no internet connection. This causes two problems one people who were from out of state couldn’t make phone calls and second we weren’t able to work remotely. So the first night we had no internet. On the second day we contact the property management team when we were in town to let them know we were having issues. They came over to reboot the router. When we got back from town we had internet, but then a few hours later same thing happened again. I again contacted the property management team who by the way was awesome, came out again to reboot the router. At 8:30 pm that same night we lost internet again. The property management team was already gone for the day. My one sister left at this point due to having several web meetings the next day and need to have a solid internet connection. This was very frustrating.
I would recommend only if you want to getaway to relax but if you need internet or to make calls and your from out of state this place may not be for you.

We had a great visit to Carlton Landing! It was our first time and we will come back. The home was a perfect size, warm, and cozy. Best of all it was near Firefly Park and our kids could just run and play. The only issue we had was finding places to eat. We saw one food truck on site but it was really hard to locate anything within CL to even get drinks etc. The book provided in the home needs to be updated. We tried to go to one Mexican restaurant and it was permanently closes. Overall it was a great time although for the price of the home I wish CL had a few more options for visitors as far as drinks, snacks and some dining.

Our family stayed 3 nights and agreed of all the vacation rentals we have stayed in, this beats them all. Clean, comfortable & excellent beds. The house was easy to find, had ample space for two cars to park. The house was said to be a well-equipped home. We did not find enough cookware to cook for six, no serving dishes, except for plates. Several of the plates and bowls were chipped and glassware was stained. The refrigerator and freezer were completely full when we arrived, in the freezer was very dirty. If you do not care to use the living space downstairs but want to go upstairs there's plenty of space. The front yard, common space, was nice. There were is no vacuum, broom and dustpan to keep floors clean. The bed linens and towels were of nice quality. The dining table was not easy to clean, as it was a door it was converted to a table, and there were no placemats or tablecloth's. we would return to Carlton Landing but would never use this home again. The very thought of all the outdoor gas grill is that you have on property, but not one of them was working. None of the pool, none by the fishpond, none of them. Not very organized or well-maintained. Using the kayaks and paddleboard was positive, as was the ice cream stand, and that's what kept us from leaving early

This was our second trip to Carton Landing- loved the Poindexter house- we had plenty of room for family and friends and enjoyed playing games at Firefly Park, ping pong, the grill and all the fun pool and lake activites. We will look forward to coming back soon!
