We loved the location, the staff , and the property. The breakfast was really good, many options.
the beds are unusually hard and the pillows uncomfortable.

Staff went out of their way when we asked to change room due to its size. Moved us to a large suite that was available at no cost.
Breakfast was okay but not the best we've had.
8.0 / 10.0
location and level of accommodation and breakfast
Limited information from staff/reception on facilities on site, what to do in town etc. The printed brochure was almost unreadable….small print in grey and difficult to see or read. No general information on Tavira and what it has to offer posted or in the rooms….most decent hotels have a binder of information in the rooms.

Tavira is a very charming town. The location of the hotel is excellent and a quick walk to the center. The breakfast was fairly good. This hotel is not as rich in decor as others in the group

The building is historic and beautifully restored. The room was well decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast was lavish and included local specialities.. Members of staff went out of their way to be helpful.
I did not think that the level of the cooking at dinner came close to measuring up to the other attributes of the hotel.

Lovely and quiet, staff very friendly
coffee could be better!!!

Staff were very helpful (especially Alex who was very welcoming & kind). The building was beautiful and we were interested in the history. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
The bed was very hard and the towels were snagged and tatty. There was shampoo and shower gel dispensers in the shower but no conditioner. Not very serious but in a 4 star hotel it should be better.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful building. Spacious rooms. Excellent food in the restaurant at reasonable prices. Good breakfast.
Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice.

We really loved the property, the location, and the fantastic staff. Breakfast was amazing. Overall we would highly recommend and visit again.
The only little niggles were: the coffee with breakfast - sorry, but it was undrinkable; and the hard mattress with hard springs that bruised my hips and kept waking me up! I also think having some more information about the area, walks, sights etc. would be good (the tourist info in town was shut the first few days we were there). Obviously you can find stuff online but sometimes it helps to have real life copies! But really, minor niggles as I say, this was lovely and we’d definitely return.

Beautiful historical property that has retained many of its original features and yet is a comfortable and efficient hotel. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful.
Dinner plates should be hotter.

Location very central, comfortable beds and pillows
Stained lampshades, dust around edges of floors in bedroom, broken outside terrace light.Tired furniture in room.
Breakfast was disorganized.
Having to get out of your car and go to reception to ask them to open garage door. It needs a code fitting or a buzzer to reception

The building is breath taking and it's very good location
The breakfast was only a standard buffet. I would expect better, and have experienced in the past, for this standard of hotel. We could order eggs with the breakfast but they only got it correct twice out of four. The bar in the evening took over 15 minutes to bring us drinks.
The housekeeping for the room was strange. We received chocolates every day but only water and fruit on the first day. There was only one tea bag which was not replaced and never any coffee provided.

Truly relaxing stay in this architectural gem in Tavira. Centuries old stone arches, courtyard, staircases, some wonderful art & a pool in a garden framed by a picturesque ruin. Superb breakfast (the cheeses!!). Delightful, efficient, accommodating staff throughout.
The coffee at breakfast is pretty
awful. Though don't let that put you off - all else is perfection but it would be nice to see it improve on our next visit.
