As you enter the property it smells musty and damp. The property was dirty throughout with grime on the broken blinds, the TVs don’t work the bathroom is dusty and dank. Should had read the reviews from the previous year. The carpet is worn tearing apart from the stairs and not a great as you need to hold on to the banister as the stairs are steep.

Extremely disappointing experience.
We are a family of four. We booked in for a 2-night stay, to have some family time in a cosy home by the seaside.
The house, whilst having 3 bedrooms is woefully inadequate for a family of 4. One of the bedrooms is in the basement and clearly has a bad issue with damp making it not habitable
The other two bedrooms were fairly clean but too small to accommodate all four of us as the beds are tiny
The small front room has only has one small and uncomfortable 2-seater sofa so there is nowhere for a family to sit together
Other than that, the whole place is very run down with broken blinds (caked in grime!) and very low quality furniture. Not enough cutlery for a family of four and the general level of cleanliness was appalling. Sticky knives and and forks, grimy glasses. Fat dripping from the cooker hood grease traps. Dirty fridge with hairs in it. Lovely!
The TV’s do switch on but there is no signal so – nothing to watch. Busy main road right outside along with a busy bus stop so traffic noise all day and night. Fair few wino’s too
We stayed just for the night and left first thing in the morning. We’d seriously considered leaving immediately when we got there
I guess there is a market for this type of accommodation but its more in the low-end stag do market where the property is shared by 4 or 5 blokes who won’t care about the poor condition if its priced correctly.
This is very much not a family rental and not at all cosy!

Good sized rooms. Clean enough.
Local agent very helpful and polite (meeting up to hand over keys etc...)
Parking a nightmare. The street close by was always packed so had to park a long way away.
Aldi 50 yards from front door (very handy for stocking up on essentials).
Facilities ok. Nice big bathroom.
Kitchen adequate but cutlery poor (only 2 dinner knives). No spatulas or fish slices for cooking. Frying pan and saucepans way past their best. Only 1 glass. No wine glasses.
Lots of stairs! It's on 3 floors, utilising basement. Wish I'd known that before booking (bad knees!). Located on busy road. Traffic noise was awful. Buses and lorries rumbling right outside the door constantly. Town itself nothing to write home about. Oppressive and uninviting. We just used house as a base.
