Super amazing

Swimming pools, beach, our suite was very nice clean and comfortable, and they have around 5 restaurants with different food

The only thing that the hotel is very far from the city but still its good to relax and enjoy for few days

Slechte prijs-kwaliteitverhouding, oud en slecht onderhouden resort

Zwembad is mooi en groot, groter dan op de foto’s lijkt. Strand is schoon. Kamer is gedateerd maar schoon. Veel keuze bij het ontbijt. De te boeken romantic fine dining is erg leuk (mits er niemand anders dit op dezelfde dag boekt)

Je betaalt 5 sterren maar het is zeker geen 5 sterren waard! Het resort is oud, staat gedeeltelijk leeg en is verpauperd. Tijdens ons verblijf werd 1 van de 2 zwembaden gerenoveerd, volgens de brief op de kamer 7-21 mei maar op 25 mei was het nog niet open. Toiletten bij zwembad zijn vies en erg oud. Je moet zelf naar de bar voor een drankje te bestellen. Vieze borden en glazen worden bij het zwembad niet opgehaald. Eten bestellen bij het restaurant en zwembad duurt extreem lang, zelfs toen er niemand op het resort was. Bediening in restaurant is slecht, komen met de rekening zonder te vragen of je nog dessert wilt. Er is geen mineraalwater op de kamer. Wifi op het strand is slecht en er is geen bediening bij het strand mogelijk. Bij de receptie wordt slecht Engels gesproken. Locatie is afgelegen. Hierdoor lastig een Grab te boeken en iedere keer 40 minuten heen en terug naar het bruisende stadje vonden wij ver. Eten en drinken op resort is erg duur. Als je op het strand verder loopt kan je drankjes kopen bij een stalletje voor 3x goedkoper.

It was an amazing experience.everyone from the front office to the people i had communication via telephone was top notch in making our stay great.The staff made it clear that we are their important guests. the staff greeted us the minute we arrived

the only thing we had an issue was half biled eggs is not in the menu . although the staff tried their best to fulfill the half boiled egg serving to us..its always comes as hardboiled egg when we crack open the egg. The staff was hesitant to break the eggs at the kitchen .So when they walk to our table the eggs become hard boiled. maybe the FnB can figure it out to put half boiled egg as part of the menu n training. The staff are really well prepared . I gues being a fanatic half boiled egg fan is something new they had to face

Excellent views that might challenge other top resorts in Langkawi!

My wife and I loved THAT amazing view of the two islands facing the resort! It was a breath taking view, and it felt magical both during sunrise and sunset. Beautiful gardens, landscape and preservation of the flora and fauna. Our honeymoon was lovely and full of memories, thanks to this first impression of visiting Langkawi! Definitely will be looking forward for another stay here in the future. Beds and toilet were clean, just like in the pictures. and thank you for decorating the bed for a honeymoon set up! Dinner at Sands and breakfast spread was excellent! Worth it! Staffs were very friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived until we checked out. I forgot the names of the two staffs (Malay male 40s and young Indian female) who attended me during check in. and a friendly tall Malay Chef who chatted with us during breakfast. Thank you for making our stay in Tanjung Rhu a lovely one!

No lifts or elevators. If your room is on the top floor, you have to climb up the flight of stairs and carry your baggage all the way to the top. In my case, the staffs were super helpful and did all the job (including carrying it down to the lobby during check out). The ironing board in my room was musty and mouldy. You can improve on that one. The walk to and from the Sands Restaurant at night was a bit dark. There was also a restaurant or cafe that was closed down. I did not know what it is called but it looks somewhat creepy during the night hahaha. However, this does not downgrade my praise and satisfaction during my stay at Tanjung Rhu!

Truly superb.

The resort’s ambience, design, and facilities were superb. The room was spacious, luxurious, and had amazing garden and ocean views. All members of staff were outstanding with sincere, friendly, and professional being some of their qualities that stood out. To give an example, they prepared a small birthday celebration for my wife, all on their own accord. The place was a huge hit also with our kids. They loved switching between the sea and pool, which are right next to each other, and enjoyed playing various games in the pool made possible due to its unique design. Bathrobes, a nice movie selection, delicious food, and additional water activities right at the location were also mentioned as highlights of the stay.

There was nothing not to like.

it was a relaxing & pleasant stay for me and family.

1. Of course the long private beach and the beautiful view , pictures perfect view of sunsets ..really spectacular 2. we stayed at the suite with twin beds, Room was spacious with big bathroom complete with tub, separate shower. clean room and bathroom. 3. Big and clean swimming pool 4. Tanjung Rhu presents a quiet and relaxing stay, though it rained on second day 5. The library and the lounge beside the beach was really a good place to spend with family after dinner especially

the sofa bed was not so comfortable, would have been nice if the extra bed was actually a proper single bed. And the abandoned blocks which actually not a good view.

Room for improvement but was good

It was so private!! perfect gateway. Pizzas at saffron was amazing!! loved the flavors. the pool was very nice and in d general so beautiful!

Breakfast was quite disappointing!! we didn’t enjoy much. fresh juices to variety of fruits to something different in asia was missing. same sort of food was provided every single day! Kids were not ready to eat anything after couple of days… :(

Lovely place, bad service

Location is wonderful and so it s the staff, especially the people working in restaurants and bars. There s a good selection at breakfast. Taxi is available in less than 5-10 mins. We used Grab app.

House keeping didn’t pay us a visit. We needed to call two times and then to go all the way to the reception to get bathroom towels. They only came once and refill the water and empty the bins. We had an ashtray on the balcony with cigarettes left behind from the previous guests and they didn t check it. Also, one of the two TVs didn’t work, with all my struggle to have them over to fix it.

Keep going! Hopefully things will turn out better soon.

. -Privacy - Even though the room wasn't as good or comfy, the staffs really put effort to help in any ways they can.

. - the hotel room was dusty - the room we stayed in was facing sunset, it was really hot from noon to evening - the sofa has bed bugs, my sister who slept on it as an extra bed had rashes because of it. - im not sure how to express it, but i think it has to do with professionalism & etiquette of the staffs- need to be improved.

Beautiful beach, but frustrating experience.

The family room with the sea view was clean and modern and very large, which worked out well for our family of four (two adults and two kids). The bathroom was especially large and had a stand alone large shower and a bathtub the kids had fun playing in. Beds were very comfortable. The beach was gorgeous and the views spectacular.

First off, we were not made aware that half of the resort is under serious reconstruction and is boarded up and abandoned. When we were there, there was no direct access to the beach from our room, so we had to walk for about 10 minutes around the resort to get to the beach and the pools. There is an adult-only pool and a family pool, both are lovely, but it seemed unnecessary to restrict one pool to 18 and overs. The resort is quite isolated from activities on the island, requiring at least a 20 -40 minute drive to get to main attractions. The staff was friendly, but not especially effective or helpful. The resort is also understaffed, which meant that we were often waiting a good long while for service. The buffet dinner and breakfast was solid, but nothing special.

Perfect for a family holidays

We stayed 2 nights in Cahaya Resort in different 4 rooms as it was a family trip. The resort was enormous, very well appointed, clean and very comfortable. The private beach is just stunning and we never tired of looking at it.Nice sunsets from beach and hotel across sea Location is superb, Love the hospitality! Staffs were helpful. Breakfast was awesome too!

Some part of the resort still under renovation. So we didnt explore the whole resort. But good thing was, we barely hear the construction noise.

It was excellent overall!

I loved the facilities, rooms and location. The sea view was beyond magical!

I believe this resort only lacks some customer service! The staff are amazing and so friendly, but they’re too slow and lack customer service experience. The breakfast buffet had to be set up indoors rather than outdoors, given the high temperatures and humidity that ruin the food.

lovely resort 10 years ago, needs redecoration

lovely empty beaches, shame no one cleaned up the rubbish washing in. lovely and quiet

run down and needs a redecoration. building work was going on all day without warning us causing us to have to walk a long diversion to pool and breakfast. staff appear to be helpful but when you have a problem they do not want to help much and have make comments to return the blame, ie no room for the massage deal booking on one day so expected us to lose the other massage, room smelt of sewage we were told we havnt been opening our doors enough so they will spray air freshener, key cards stopped working three times.. amy fault it’s in the same bag as my phone.

Breakfast from 07.00 but buffet food still not out or cold by 07.30. The whole facility needs a lot of work to tidy it up to an acceptable standard.

It was a very good holiday with my family in this resort just like escape from the city.

I have been upgraded to Presidential Suite completed with direct personal lift to 4th floor with acceptable extra fees. The suite was huge completed with jacuzzi, living and dinning area, huge wardrobe & dressing areas. Both my room and living room windows were facing to wide sandy beach front with very good view to Andaman Sea and islands. There were good amenities, tea & coffee refills sachets, comfy bed and very good Wi-Fi connection. The staffs were friendly and polite, good breakfast with tasty foods and very nice and polite F&B staffs at the The Sand Restaurant. The location was very good to those peoples who looking for peaceful and quiet place for relaxing. This resort having a nice reading area, Spa, good restaurant & café, recreational area and two sides of swimming pools for adults and family with children. The distance from Langkawi Airport only took 30 minutes to reach to this resort with self-drive car.

This is an old hotel and there was no lift to room at 2nd to 4th floor. The suite air-conditioning a bit warm could be due to high outside temperature.
