Room is good, bed is excellent
No Wi-Fi in the room, and some studs were old or damaged/not in good condition which require repairing.

The beach was just amazing. All the water activities are free. The restaurant is very nice, food was delicious. Not too many people to share the resort so the environment was comfortable.
There was a big rat in our room( just beside the bed). We couldn’t fall asleep all the night, and the phone was not working during the 3days, so we need to walked trough the forest at midnight to the front desk to ask help. At the night the room was full so we couldn’t change our room, they sent security to catch the mouse but in vain.
The towel racks and shower rack was not stable, and it didn’t get fixed while the 3 days.

Me and my husband travelled Sabah this year to celebrate our birthday's at Bungaraya Island Resort 3D2N. The check in was very smooth and all our luggage was taken care from Jesselton Point Jetty and straight to our room. On our arrival we received this delicious welcoming drinks rose syrup juice then we were introduced to our personal assistant. The villa's on the island are very spacious with large balconies, the rooms were clean and very comfortable.
I like the hospitality and how the staff and workers was well trained, so helpful, polite and friendly. All the staff are well welcoming. Nice location with private beach. It was so nice to stay with nature around all the time. The swimming pool was good enough for kids and adults. Wildlife all around. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone who needs a break from our hectic business lives.
Everything was perfect

Better cleaner ( but was ok). Some entertainment in the evening.

Friendly staff and great hospitality
Limited buggy service

Friendly staff, good service, getaway to paradise not far from Kota Kinabalu city centre. Room was beautiful and better than anticipated. Slight problem with our water heater but issue was rectified under 30 mins.
It's monsoon season so plastic waste are swept ashore on a daily basis tarnishing the pristine beach. Hotel staff cleans it every morning but perhaps for times like these, cleanup to be done more frequently during the day? Other than that all was perfect.

We were absolutely blown away by everything. There weren't many people staying at the resort so it felt so special, secluded, and peaceful. The photos don't do the resort, the services, or the scenery justice! We were going to stay at the Gayana marine resort for the overwater huts but they got damaged during the king tide, so this wasn't our first choice of resort. But we were thoroughly impressed by this place and think it was probably even better than the overwater huts I had been dreaming of! The private beach at Bungaraya is truly special and serene (no other resorts in this cove). Our beachside villa was so spacious and in pristine condition, with beautiful hibiscus surrounding the private pool, a short path leading to the beach which we could enjoy views of from our porch, and plenty of wildlife to enjoy just from our porch (lizards, monkeys, hornbills). By the beach we didn't have an issue with bugs (and I usually get eaten alive). The beachside villas are also great for a short walk to the restaurant and to the free kayak/SUP/snorkle gear checkout hut. Definitely worth splurging on the beachside villas. The coral reef accessible from the resort was beautiful (and healthy!) with lots of colorful fish and even some blue spotted sting rays. The food and service was also outstanding. That's not something we usually consider when looking for places (we usually just peruse the photos and available activities), but it was an important part of why our vacation was so enjoyable. We felt like royalty here, which was perfect for our honeymoon. We will definitely be back.
Nothing. It was perfect. Wish we could've stayed more than 4 days!

very helpful staff,
delicious and professionally prepared food,
the most important thing is that everyone tries to help the vacationers
the only drawback, the beach should be cleaned more intensively, 1-2 times a day

We looked forward to a relaxing time after the hectic metropolitan life. And our stay at bunga raya was nothing less than a Blessing. The staff were super helpful and everything was very well managed. The food was pricey but great.
uhh, our first day was a waste due to the rain. But thats something beyond control of the management. Overall nothing as such that we did not like.

The location is fantastic. Beautiful beach next to the jungle, quiet and calming.
The food at the restaurant could be improved.

The view
The beach ( a lot of rubbish ) should be the staff clean all the rubbish at the beach early morning..dont give the reason ( monsun ) to the customers coz customers paid for the view not the rubbish at beacn..

everything
to be asked for really tiny little money because a monkey broke a tea pot forgotten on my outside table ! just found it ridiculous and very poor mentality after my quite high spending in wines and even champagne ( which was forgotten on the bill and I was honest enough to notify it when paying my bill)

Peaceful setting
Barbecue not quite to European expectations

Our stay at Bungaraya was great, huge thank you to the thoughtful kind staff (Nancy, Dean, Kery, Zalaina, Juliet and everyone else at the restaurant) as well as the spa team (Tina, Brenda and everyone else) for making our stay so memorable. The food and drinks were great and the massages are a must!
I hope to see them all in the future.
On top of this the location is amazing, the rooms are right on a white sandy beach making it impossible to beat.

The surroundings of the hotel are incredible. We loved every day of our stay. Such a beautiful place and friendly staff.
The hotel needs some renovation. with just a little effort they could make such a beautiful place out of it! They try to be a luxury hotel which is not possible with these outdated facilities. The booking of activities was kind of complicated.

Amazing serene location that's closed to nature. Crystal clear sea water was matched with powdery sandy beach. Coupled with extremely friendly team of staff that tried their best to meet our quirks and needs. Food was pretty awesome too! Me and my wife was looking to rest and recover from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. Hence the unavailability of reception for maxis telco was actually beneficial to us ( note that they do have wifi at the restaurants, but we prefer to just switch off). Overall, it was an amazing getaway!
Sandflies & mosquitos. Please bring a bottle of good repellant & cream of your own. The resort provides, but i just preferred my own trusted brand.
