Welcome to Bear Bottom Cabin!!
Come create your vision of relaxation and bliss!
Get ready to start your vacation in this traditional mountain style retreat cabin. With soaring vistas, high ceilings, vaulted spaces, and hard wood floors, you will immediately feel at home at Bear Bottom Cabin. (That is of course if you can tear yourself away from the wrap-a-round deck or screened porch & soaking in the spectacle of the Blue Ridge Mountains, & actually venture inside!) The great room, with plenty of space to unwind, and fully equipped, large kitchen, is where everyone will want to gather to enjoy their time together inside the house. But, if you need some “alone time”, there is plenty of space inside and out to find your own serenity. There are 3 outside porches, decks, and patios for ultimate outdoor relaxation.
Kids love the expansive outdoor areas & playing in and around the stream, and of course the hot tub. (Adults of course LOVE the hot tub as well.) The expansive decks & screened porch are just off the Kitchen/Great Room & out the side door, and off the lower terrace level. All of these afford additional outdoor space to relax & unwind. Everyone enjoys the decks, you can pull up a chair and take in the "sound of silence", observe the night as it fills with stars, and watch the fire flies come out to play in your backyard.
Take a seat and enjoy the sound of nature and the serenity in your own private paradise at the top of the world. There is also a fire-pit for hours of tall-tales, s'mores, and family enjoyment!
You are just minutes from America's favorite scenic byway, The Blue Ridge Parkway, motorcycle touring, biking, hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, Segway tour…just about any outdoor activity! Or, take a quick ride to downtown Asheville to enjoy the first-rate restaurants, shopping, galleries, spas, and entertainment.

The cabin and surround woods were great. Felt that we had good privacy. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay in this very large cabin/house. It was easy to find, comfortable, clean and spacious on a beautiful property full of trees and with a clear stream running through the backyard. It was in a great location - close to Asheville up north and Brevard, Pisgah National Forest, Dupont Recreation Area and even Ceasar's Head State Park (just across the border in South Carolina) down south. Our rainy weather did not let us take advantage of the outdoor space like we had hoped - this included a nice fire pit area down by the stream, a deck and hot tub. Our busy schedule did not allow us to play any of the games provided but there were a lot for both indoor and outdoor play. Plenty of linens were provided and we really appreciated the hand soaps provided at every sink along with dishwashing and paper supplies left out for us. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend others to consider staying at this property.

The cabin was spacious and spotless. It was beautiful throughout. It had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. It was a quiet neighborhood. We thoroughly enjoyed the week and hope to visit again in the future.

Our family came to Bear Bottom Cabin for a few days on Spring Break. We had a great time! The cabin is located in a great location for both hiking, Asheville and some breweries. We would like to come back.

We had a wonderful long weekend at this cabin. Group of mostly working moms who needed to get away from the daily grind. This cabin has lots of space, we played a lot of card and board games. Loved the hot tub. We had a few minor issues that were responded to promptly. Kitchen was well equipped. Only negative was refrigerator didn't make ice, so we bought bagged ice. Would definitely come back. Short drive to Sierra Nevada. Ingles and a nice brewery with great food just 5 minutes down the road.

Beautiful property, both indoor and outdoor. Highly recommend! Only note is that the pull out couch bed is surprisingly uncomfortable.

Our family had a great time for three nights in this cabin. We enjoyed it very much. The backyard with the creek was a nice bonus.
5.0
Pros:
- The cabin is very beautiful, spacious, and boasts a prime location, offering a great setting for a peaceful getaway.
- The check-in and check-out process is smooth and hassle-free, ensuring a convenient stay.
Cons:
- Cleanliness fell short of expectations, with stained blankets and towels, and an unwashed pot, coffee maker, and grill among the issues.
- The game room raised concerns with possible mold on the ceiling.
- The guest bathroom shower had drainage issues.
- Despite guidelines, no tablets were provided for hot tub maintenance.
- The fireplace, despite following instructions carefully, did not function.
- An unannounced early morning visit for hot tub servicing created discomfort, especially with a child present. We were not expecting anyone to show up and walk on the property before checkout time and not intoduce themselves
Overall some of these issues might be normal in a remote cabin stay, but for the price we expected something more. I am assuming the cleaning team was on crunch time as it looks like some of the mess from the previous stay was still present. I would consider the stay a 2.5 for the price.

The place was perfect for our family vacation. The cabin is located at the end of a quiet mountain road. We saw deer in the yard every morning. The place is well stocked with kitchen gadgets and pans. If you are looking for a quiet mountain get away you can't go wrong.

Comfortable, family-friendly cabin that is optimally located between Asheville and Hendersonville. Check-in was easy. Communication with management was smooth. Very well kept! Limited cellular service but that seems common throughout the area. Wifi connection mitigated this. Strongly recommend.

We were pleasantly surprised to see the large layout of the home which handled our family for a long weekend in the mountains. The grounds are great with the fire pit next to the babbling brook. Quiet , secluded but easy access to so many activities. Will definitely rebook for our next trip to the mountains!

Everything was perfect! Loved the seclusion of the house. Quiet cove but felt safe.
House has so many cozy spots for relaxing with friends. Kitchen was great, beds great, very clean.
Would highly recommend. Closes to everything. Used Uber to go to dinner in Asheville downtown.

Great experience. We love both Sierra Nevada and Bold Rock and this place was perfect for visiting both. We loved the kitchen and ability to cook during our stay. We hope to stay longer next time and get to enjoy everything this place has to offer

Overall excellent stay, a couple of hiccups but resolved without issue. Beautiful, quiet, and secluded area, however, conveniently located close to shopping, the airport, restaurants, etc. The cabin is spacious with several different areas to relax. The outdoor area is beautiful and we enjoyed a fire in the pit next to the little creek. I would definitely recommend this cabin.

Amazing Mountain Cabin!
We had an amazing time here for my brothers bachelor party. The decks/views/hot tub and fire pit made it the best “home base” possible. Highly recommend!

My friends and I loved this property! It is located off the road in a beautiful wooded area. The cabin was immaculate and offered every amenity. We enjoyed lounging by the gas fireplace, cooking meals in the gorgeous kitchen, and spending every night in the hot tub just staring that the stars. We didn't get a chance to use the firepit down by the adorable bubbling creek, but our stay was still amazing!

The house was perfect!
We had a magical three night stay at the cabin. The house had everything we could have needed. We enjoyed the board games, the games in the garage, the hot tub and the fire pit. Plenty of room for the six of us. The porches were an additional bonus that we greatly enhoyed! The kids asked if we could return!!
The location was very convenient to the Sierra Nevada Brewery and DuPont Forest. The grocery store less than five miles away was another plus.

Cozy Cabin Stay!
Such a beautiful space! The cabin was lovely with a nice creek running through the back yard. Coffee in the sun room in the mornings were such a peaceful way to begin each morning. Everything was in wonderful condition and the place just makes you feel at home. I would highly recommend this for a weekend getaway with a significant other or a family trip with loved ones.

In general everything is great. The play area needs work or replacement like the ping pong table that is broken, and from what I read it has been broken for a long time. Nice place to spend time with the family
