Average leisure time with horrible food

Make up room is efficient and timely

Food is lousy and not up to standard. Breakfast is horrible with below par taste with low quality ingredients. Worst pastry we ever had in our life and not equate to the Shangrila brand. Toiletries quality is also sub par

The room is super clean and the staff super friendly.

All dine in choices are not cheap and you are not able to find more “local” options nearby. If the plan is to stay in the hotel and relaxed, it’s super good. But if you want to explore a bit about the island or the neighbourhood, the location isn’t convenient.

Really a great disappointed service from Shangri-la.

The environment and brand of Shangri-la.

The facilities are really old and tiles in the pool are coming off already even informing the life guard that couldn't be bothered. The buffet that charges super expensive but the food quality is really bad. There is a S.E.A restaurant that supposedly sells South Asia food but the chef believes it to be from China the taste is really bad and still charging super expensive. I believe the management is no longer the good team from Shangri-la. Greatly disappointed.

- pool temperature was perfect - breakfast as well - great choice of games and spaces for kids. - room quality was great (sea view) - pellows are very comfortable

- at reception, very limited of people speak english - beach is not really made to swim as waves are too strong. it is rather made for kids to play in sand, but still we had great fun and wonderful remember there

We had a great stay at the resort. nice location close to the night market. Staffs were friendly and helpful.

buffet breakfast was below average. I was surprised that the bacon on 9 Feb was made from flour, which wasn’t good. Expensive flour 😳

Exceptional

- warmed swimming pool (in december), making it great especially for kids, whereas most of other hotel ones were colder. - great choice for breakfast - great staff. all not speqking english, but sevwrql still even Andre, one of staffx helped to prepare tue room with 200 roses as a surprise for my wife. perfect preparation i must say !! andre also spoke french making it even more comveniemt to prepared the surprise. - snacks at swimming pool were alao quite nice - shangri la alao organized a family picture session, making the experience even more enjoyable for my wife, to keep a great souvenir

A good hotel nearby the waterpark - not for sea-lovers!

The second time stayed here. Just a good hotel. Nearby is one famous waterpark - it is the main reason people stay here. Nice breakfast.

Too many people, as always. Waited for check-in very long time. Be prepared. It is always like this in this hotel. Have to wait in line for at least 30mins. And after the line they just ask you to wait for the key. This time we waited for 4 hours! The beach nearby is a disaster.

Gorgeous hotel

We loved our stay. The room (Horizon Suite) was gorgeous, the customer service brilliant. Nina was exceptional from our check in until check out. The pools were lovely, perfect temperature for the time of year. Breakfast was excellent (except the bacon). Great facilities for young kids such as toiletries, kids plates, high chairs and bibs, even mini robes!

No outdoor playground for young kids. indoor play facilities for under 5 could also be better. Room service menu very expensive

The rooms and facilities are exceptional, but it's really the warm friendly service from all staff that makes Shangri-La Sanya so enjoyable.

Admittedly I travelled during a peak time, but the Horizon Club was often crowded with limited seating and very diminished supplies - particularly during the afternoon and evening services (breakfast was never a problem).

Sensational service

Such a wonderful hotel! Amazing service from Nina Li and Brian Yin, we loved it here so much that we change our plans and extended our stay, all of the staff are exceptional, food is delicious and simply wonderful for kids. Cannot recommend enough.

I recommend this hotel to everyone! It was a wonderful , fantastic ,cool and awesome hotel ! All the staff in this hotel are wonderful people and do their job ( serves ) 100000 % ! Disappointed with Horizon club

The pools were really nice. When we did find staff they were friendly. The kids pool Entertainment for kids They have rubber rings for the children to play in. The room was clean and spacious. Beautiful setting and very close to the beach. Kids water slides

Lack of food choices. The horizon club is a rip off - no benefits from staying there. Can’t even check in or out there...had to join the huge queue in the lobby to check out. Never any staff at the desk. Food and drinks choices are poor. Ten minutes into service every morning and afternoon tea, ran out of glasses, cutlery, some of the food.... Seen some large rats running around the pool and restaurant area, early evening and at night time. Hard to find staff around the pool areas to get drinks or take away empty food plates etc. No snacks available during the day in horizon club - just a jar of cookies. Nowhere to get fruit or healthy snacks in any of the restaurants during the day. Lots of things sold out on the menus so we ate the same food almost every day. Says drinks cannot be taken out of the horizon club room which means you need to them pay for soft drinks by the pool or sit inside drinking them. Staff weren’t very efficient. A kids meal took 45 minutes to come one evening and he fell asleep by time it arrived and everyone else already had their meals. The intercontinental club was so much better value for money. I would just book a normal bed and breakfast here not the horizon option as you get nothing for it. Have to pay 150rmb per child to use the soft play area. Breakfast was absolutely chaotic in the main room. On the horizon club it was lacking in choice and every day had to wait for cups and cutlery even when it wasn’t busy. We have stayed in hotels in sanya wheee the service and value for money is much better than this hotel, which is a shame.

Recharged.

Very welcome staff, wonderful resort, beautiful scenery, and nature, clean, very delicious food. It has a very sophisticated vibe and attracts also very polite guests.

The helicopter taking off on the grass loan next to the pool. It is too noisy and breaks the whole relaxing vibe of the resort.
