I absolutely loved this place! It was really lovely and I'm so happy I stumbled upon the listing. The location was great. It was easy to find and parking was not a problem. There were lovely touches throughout and lots of information for the cottage and surrounding areas.

Church bell did disturb sleep a little but earplugs were provided.

Everything, it was clean, comfortable, characterful and with a charming and helpful owner.
The Church bells opposite which kept us awake half the night (the owner helpfully provided ear plugs we only noticed them the next morning!).

Lovely place, everything you need
Not much to do in the village and no facilities nearby without driving, massive bedroom with two singles, why not a double????

Everything! Beautiful in every way!

everything ! great facilities for a self catered short break. really convenient location in a lovely village
the church bells - but actually they didn’t really bother us and my daughter really appreciated the thoughtful provision of ear plugs ! the bells really aren’t that intrusive - I barely noticed them although I suppose if you’re a light sleeper they might be an issue. the rest of the accommodation more than makes up for them though.

The property had a lovely homely feel to it. It was perfect for a weekend stay. There was a lovely basket of treats upon arrival. It was all very private and even more gorgeous in the sunshine! Had the most amazing sleep on the bed also - so comfortable!
The base of the shower cubicle was not 100% clean but it wasn’t anything that couldn’t be washed away with water - this was the only aspect I’d mention, but other than that, facilities were lovely.

Beautiful cottage and spotlessly clean. Very nicely decorated with some beautiful touches. Everything you could need.
It was all good. There were the church bells which chimed every quarter and on the hour throughout the day and night. The owner informed me immediately but this wasn’t mentioned on Booking.com. It didn’t bother us but could be off putting to others particularly if they weren’t aware.

This is such a lovely place..tastefully designed with every modern comfort and so much attention to detail. We appreciated the friendly welcome by Joanna and three days of perfect relaxation. Many thanks!

Nothing to dislike.
Beautifully warm, well appointed accomodation. Kitchen fully equipped. The living space was comfortable. It was well lit without being overly bright.Soft beds with cosy duvets made for a restful night. Bathroom well stocked with fluffy towels. Plentiful toiletries.

Beautiful little cottage, very clean and comfortable in a wonderful location. It had all the amenities we needed and the hosts Joanna and James are lovely. We would definitely choose to stay there again if we visit Lincolnshire in the future.

A wonderfully charming high spec property and location. Somewhere in which we really relaxed and were able to spend some quality time as a family. A great base for adventures into Lincolnshire and the nearby Heckington has good pubs, shops, an outdoor pool and a working windmill in walking distance! Further afield, Belton House, Woodhall Spa, Tattershall Lakes / Castle, RAF museums and the outdoor pools at Metheringham and Billinghay are all worth a visit. Hosts are welcoming, friendly and care that you enjoy your stay.
The church bells take time to get used to. They add to the charm!

Good location, spotlessly clean and very well equipped.
Possibility of cooler duvets for summer months.

The accommodation is clean and tidy. It is within easy walking distance of Heckington with it's local services, train station and the historic windmill and there are lots of other places to see within an hour's drive or by train.
It is a lovely little place and we would recommend to anyone.

Peaceful location and very comfortable.
As we like to self cater some clearer instructions for oven and coffee maker(s) would have been more helpful

The location was perfect for us with 2 small dogs, the place was really cute, the photos do not do it justice, every facility we needed for a self catered place, good local information, cute additional extras like eggs from their chickens, a basket of treats, lovely to have a church across the way, the bells did not bother us at all but ear plugs supplied if they did!
Nothing.

Great comfortable cottage. Very spacious and well equipped. We only stayed overnight as visiting our son but hope to take a longer break some other time and use as a base.

We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed every minute. The place was immaculately clean and the beds were lovely and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you need to cook a 3 course meal if you wanted to. Although we did hear the church bells occasionally, they were hardly noticeable, especially at night when we were sleeping, but earplugs are supplied. The village itself is very peaceful and it was lovely to wake to the sound of bird song. We would definitely recommend The Old Stable to anyone. Thank you very much Joanna and James for making us feel so welcome. By the way, we found the wifi very good.
