The price is okay. You get the breakfast for an additional 1000 CFA and it's nice.
You get to know other people on their way trough Senegal.
We came as a group of 4 and took two bedrooms. One was okay even though some facilities were not working properly (sink, hot water). The other one was just a uncomfy worn out bed in a small room with bad light and no window with fresh air...

You can't beat the price and location of this hostel if you're a backpacker. Sure, it's a bit worn, but cleaning of the bathrooms for dorm sleepers was daily. Staff helped me with use of local transport. Bus #121 just at the corner will take you to the centre of town and the port for ferries to Isle Gorée or to Ziguinchor, Casamance. There's also a clothesline and a nice terrace on the roof.
It's pretty dark on the ground floor with strange purple lighting going up to the 1st floor. Again, you get what you pay for so don't expect more, but I found the women's dorm, which is upstairs, good value for money. - not to be judged with European standards.

Good price if you just need a bed for the night.
4.0 / 5.0
The women's dorm was fine, just 4 beds and a room in good shape, apparently better than some private rooms, and lots of sockets for recharging. It didn't bother me to have the window onto a hallway, and it was a quiet night for sleeping. Although there's no kitchen access, the receptionist brought me a cup of boiling water for my teabag, much appreciated. By the way, the hostel's name is not above the door.
I located only one shower/toilet, not a problem for one night as there weren't many guests. Although it was shabby, there was plentiful hot water.
I wanted to possibly stay for 2 more nights, but they seemed unable to tell me if it was possible, and I was told to ask the next morning, so I booked elsewhere. Warning - Hostelworld would have let me book, but Booking didn't offer the women's dorm. The lady at reception indicated that Hostelworld was a problem, so I wouldn't trust booking through the other provider.

The friendly staff
Room was not clean, and it needs some restoration. Also, he had some mold and humidity which it is not safe for anyone. The room we booked was a completely different one, so the advertisement is deceiving

good bathroom in the private room and powerful shower.
wifi worked fine.
fan in room
no option for a women’s shared dormitory (??)
cockroaches on and around the bed. the bed sheets smelt too. The whole place did not feel massively clean apart from my private bathroom which was ok.

The only thing we liked about the hostel is the location. It’s far from the actual city center, but the neighborhood is nice and not touristy, local markets, good atmosphere, very lively.
The atmosphere in the hostel was weird. Most of the staff was unfriendly, or even rude at times. They ignored us several times, did not give our change back, and got angry at us for asking if we could use the kitchen. Our private room smelled very bad (of mold), even after it was cleaned and there were no lights in the bathroom. And one time in the middle of the night, one of the security guides was standing in the door from the balcony, looking into our room, which made us feel unsafe.
