This is a family run traditional(?) Ryokan. It is a bit away from the city but if you hop on any bus, it will take you to the city center quickly. They don't offer breakfast or dinner but there is one nice breakfast place close by as well as few Ramen/sushi restaurants which we liked. Best thing about here was the lonely and eerie atmosphere(almost haunted) mixed with the warmth of a family owned establishment. Perhaps it was off season but there were many guests by the number of shoes at the entrance. Rooms have tatami mats and sleeping rolls as typically found in Ryokans, however you should expect fewer amenities in the rooms compared to a regular Hotel. Owner was very helpful and polite lady, she had great English so we had few chats. I also like their cute little dog. Rooms do not have showers so you do have to use the Onsen. There is one for men and one for women. However since they don't have too many rooms/guests, it is possible to arrange one of the Onsen for 1/2-1 hour personal use. I think that was great.
I wish they offered pickup from the train station. We also wanted to use the bikes available at the Hotel but there was only one so we couldn't. This isn't a negative for the establishment per se, but we also couldn't rent one from nearby hop on/off biking spot. If you are not hooked into the Japanese system already, it is impossible to do so.

Very cute, good details and good price. The staff really friendly and familiar. Good choice.
Maybe a little away from the main sites but good served and a good deal

First of all the staff is amazing. Akiko helped us so much with information, calling places for us and even taking us from the station and back with her car. Secondly, the Ryokan is beautiful and is the traditional Japanese experience with the Japanese garden view. The onsen were very nice as well. Couldn't recommend enough.. also , nice restaurants( sushi, Ramen) near the Ryokan for dinner.
The location is not the best but if you want Ryokan you need to be a little bit far from the center. The buses were good enough for us to get around.

It felt really great to experience a traditional Japanese inn, the host was very nice, she gave as a lift from and to the Kanazawa station. Onsen was also great, tha tbh was hot and pleasant, I recommend this ryokan for anyone. And her dog is so cute!

Enjoyed my stay at Ryokan Karasawa! Host is very kind and welcoming. It’s located about 20 mins by bus from Kanazawa station or 10 mins by taxi. This is traditional Ryokan experience and there’s an indoor onsen to enjoy hot bath. Room has private toilet but shower is shared. Just so you know. Lot of good restaurants nearby and a shopping area.

The whole Ryokan experience, sleeping on a futon over a tatame and including Onsen bath. It was exactly what we were looking for. It was an amazing experience for the whole family.
And the hosts don’t measure efforts to make you feel welcome.
Nothing.

Quiet with big public areas
interior is old and rooms are very small but one kind of expected these for a tradition ryokan

The hosts absolutely wonderful and kind and extremely helpful. The Ryokan has a wonderful onsen and we were able to book for private use at no extra cost.
I would highly recommend staying here especially if you're looking for an authentic experience that won't break the bank.
The location is less than ideal and somewhat close to a main road. It's easy to get to my car and they were nice enough to pick us up from the train station at no cost.

The onsen was wonderful. Room was very big with comfortable beds. Ryokan was very peaceful and relaxing.
A bit hard to find from the bus stop, but we made it in the end!

all traditional building and room, the onset, very friendly hostess, drove us to the train station
location a bit remote and it was cold in the facilities

Host was really nice and accommodating. She walked us through use of facilities. Room was really nice with nice view. Closed doors and turned on heating while we were away which was appreciated because it was winter. Was fairly good with us even though we arrived a little earlier then check-in. Nice well maintained onsen.

Beautiful old Ryokan at a very reasonable price, we were even able to use the onsen for free. The personal was extremely helpful and friendly. Since there was a lot of snow coming down the manager offered to take us to the train station for free without us even having to ask her! It saved our morning!

The view from the room was of a beautiful Japanese style garden. There was a nice indoor onsen to take a relaxing bath. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! I definitely recommend staying here.
Nothing, I had wonderful stay.

Experiencing the stay in a traditional japanese house, sleeping on a futon that was, surprisingly not uncomfortable.
Maybe location, that's a bit far from Kanazawa downtown, but has a bus stop very close.
