About this cottage rental
There is something magical about Maushop Village, tucked inside the resort community of New Seabury on Cape Cod’s Nantucket Sound. Your Cape Cod experience starts as you cross one of the iconic bridges that separate the Cape from the rest of the world. Welcome to our home at Maushop Village!
These Nantucket-style cottages evoke images of a by-gone era, with white picket fences nestled on the bluffs overlooking the ocean with Martha’s Vineyard in the foreground. With footpaths made of white crushed clamshell, Maushop Village is the only community within the resort with deeded beach rights to our own, privately maintained, sandy beach on Nantucket Sound.
Our sun-drenched home is bright, comfortable, charming and able to comfortably accommodate 4, with a Master queen and two twins in the second bedroom. It is one of the few units with two full baths and an expanded, glassed-in sunroom! The brick patio is equipped with tables & chairs, umbrella for some shade (if you want shade!) and a Weber gas grill.
We are perfectly located at the top of the bluff (with a peek of the ocean), with a 2-minute walk to the private beach, a 5-minute walk to the wonderful Popponesset Marketplace (http://popponessetmarketplace.com) a 5-minute walk to either the famous Popponesset Inn or the outstanding Popponesset Country Club at New Seabury. A ten-minute drive gets you to Mashpee Commons, home to many restaurants, entertainment venues, and wonderful boutique shopping (http://mashpeecommons.com).
Sun and sand, ice cream and miniature golf, an outdoor summer concert series down the walking path, Cape Cod League Baseball at its best one town away, and Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard only a quick ferry-ride away. Public Golf courses are populated all over the Cape, with several within 20 minutes of our cottage. Bring your bikes and ride for miles! The options are endless.
In Wampanoag folklore, Maushop was a giant who captured the sun for the people of Cape Cod. Now it is your turn to capture the magic!

Loved the cottage. Everything had its place. Neat, clean and comfortable. Nice location.
Only downside was the portable AC units. With the temps and humidity every day it was challenging to keep the cottage cool. They were also very loud.

We love coming to Maushop and this unit did not disappoint! The house is wonderful, with easy access to the beach and the marketplace. We spent our days walking around the neighborhoods, playing at the beach, and eating great food. The unit is clean, updated, and the perfect place for a young family. Thanks Dave!

Absolutely loved everything about this cottage. Beautifully updated & furnished. End unit with views of ocean from 2nd floor. Quiet beach and gorgeous community. We will be back. Thank you

We stayed at Dave and Lori’s during the heat wave this July and despite the heat the location is great! There was always a breeze at the gorgeous quiet beach which kept us cool even in the hot hot weather. House is super cute for a family with everything you could need. Dave was immediately responsive to all our needs!

We’ve been staying in New Seabury for 30 years and this was a great find! The home was clean, well stocked with essentials, and close to the Popponesset Marketplace.
The beach is a quick stroll down the street, beach flag is provided! There is a bedroom downstairs with two beds and full bath. The master bedroom and bath are upstairs. The bed is high up so just a warning if you are on the shorter side.
You can see the ocean from the stairs. There are two patios to enjoy. Dave was easy to contact and made it easy with directions for checking in/out.
Some things we did were go on a kayaking trip with Cape Cod Kayak as well as rent bikes at the Corner Bike shop in Falmouth and then rode along the Shining Sea Bikeway to Woodshole. So gorgeous!
We had a wonderful time!

Great Maushop Village getaway
We have stayed at several of the Maushop properties over the years and this one may be the best of them all. Beautifully and tastefully updated, more spacious than most, private, and with all the amenities you could ask for (beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella, every appliance, books, games for the kids). The owner was amazing: a hurricane was projected to hit the cape during our stay and he reached out to tell us that we could cancel at the last minute and he’d refund the entire cost no questions asked. I am so grateful that we came anyway- we had a wonderful stay!

Hydrangea Heaven
Excellent space, management and organization. From top appliances to communication this place rates an A+. This Maushop house had rooms 50% larger than our other stays over past 50 years in Maushop. The owner was on top of every detail. The beach improved 100% Over two years ago. We plan on being back.

Little slice of paradise
Maushop Village is the ultimat quintesential New England village. Our stay at 21 Flying Cloud exceeded our expectations and we would love to return next year. Dave, the owner was so easy to get a hold of, returning texts and emails almost immediately. The location of the home is perfect with all the beach essentials that you need. Thank you so much!

Fantastic!
This is a wonderful cottage that is a very short walk to a beautiful private beach, a small shopping & dining marketplace, and the Popponesset Inn. The cottage is very nicely set up and the owners are terrific. Beach chairs and umberellas, floating noodles, BBQ and more. Great communication and suggestions for dining out and things to see and do in the area.

Great Beach Experience
My family and I very much enjoyed this seaside village accommodation. All was as described on VBRO and the owner was very responsive to questions and sent a packet with very helpful details. We would certainly rent this cottage again in the future.

Wonderful stay and very organized owner!
My husband and I have stayed in New Seabury several times before with our kids but this was our first time in Maushop Village and we loved being so close to the beach. The house was beautiful, had everything we needed, was very clean and the AC was a plus because it was hot/humid and we were working remotely. Dave was amazing, so well organized and went above and beyond to take all of the necessary safety precautions in light of COVID-19, including mailing us everything in advance of our stay. We appreciated the extra effort as it made us feel very comfortable. We hope to be back soon.

Great family vacation
We enjoyed staying here at this cottage with our two children, ages 3 and 5. The house was comfortable and we felt right at home. Our children didn't want to leave. Short walk to the beach. House had everything we needed. The AC was so helpful during two of the hot days we had at the beginning of our trip. Cannot wait to return!

Wonderful vacation unit!
#21 Flying Cloud was a beautiful unit....impeccably decorated and perfectly equipped. Maushop Village is a charming location and the nearby Popponesset Marketplace was adorable and a fun place to hangout. Our only disappointment was the beach....and not the beach itself--that was lovely---but the water was laden with seaweed and very rocky. Overall, its a great vacation spot!

Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable
Our family of four found the condo to be a perfect fit for our needs. The air conditioning (a rarity in Maushop) in the living space helped make the humid days easier. The beach gear provided saved us from lugging additional items to the Cape. The beach buggy made the short walk to the beach a breeze. We all slept so well and found the beds to be clean and comfortable. The kitchen has been totally remodeled and was appointed with everything we needed. The furniture and decor are beautiful and consistent throughout. There were even faux candles that lit the staircase automatically as it got dark out. This condo is located on a quiet street that offers some amount of privacy from the noises of the villiage but is a short walk to the Marketplace and the beach. We hope to stay again next year!

Beautiful house by the sea
Our English family of 4 stayed for a week in July. It was a lovely relaxing week (sandwiched between stays in New York and Boston).
The house is very tastefully decorated, clean, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed having BBQs on the decking and being able to walk to the beach in a couple of minutes. Fish and chips at the Marketplace were enjoyed whilst listening to live music. The village is very smart. We did think that the mini golf onsite was over-priced, and the local grocery store was also rather expensive.
Dave was really prompt and helpful with the questions we had prior to our arrival.
Overall, a great stay! Thank you.

The place was perfect! Beautifully decorated. We had everything we needed for the kitchen and for the beach. The beach was so close too. Lovely little community of friendly people. Could not have been better.

Great condo with lots of charm and amenities!
Our entire family enjoyed our stay at 21 Flying Cloud! The location was great, in a quiet, shady corner but a very short walk to the beach. The unit was well equipped and very nicely decorated. The private beach was very nice and not too crowded since it is limited to Maushop Village residents/guests only. When not at the beach, we enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners on the quiet patio - small but very adequate for 4 people. The owner was easily available via phone or email and was responsive to all requests. The entire village is quaint and quiet; a great place to relax and unwind. The nearby Village Market was convenient with shops, restaurants, and music in the evenings. We would definitely return to 21 Flying Cloud.

Beautiful, clean and updated property
We loved every minute of our stay in 21 Flying Cloud! The house was very clean and updated. Anything and everything you could think of was provided....beach towels, bath towels, sheets. Even the pull out sofa was made with clean sheets and cozy blanket...my son loved it! The shed was stocked with goodies that made our trips to the beach so enjoyable....beach chairs, boogie boards, rafts, buckets, a small beach table.....all fit nicely into the beach buggy that is provided to easily wheel it all down. The cooler with wheels was another huge bonus! The renovated kitchen is beautiful and has plenty of new dishes, glasses, pans and appliances. We did appreciate the A/C unit downstairs as we had some humid days.
We have stayed in many properties in Maushop over the past 16 years and we finally found our favorite! Thanks Dave & Lori! We'll definitely be back!

Quaint and Charming Beach Cottage
We absolutely loved our week in this charming, beautifully-decorated beach cottage. Dave and Lori thought of every amenity! It was extremely clean and comfortable for our family of four. We spent lots of time at the private beach and walking and biking to the marketplace. We hope to be back next year!!

Lovely Beach Cottage
We stayed at this cottage in late July and it was just right for the four of us. We enjoyed the casual nautical themed decor and the beach and marketplace were just a short walk away. (I recommend water shoes for the beach.) Cottage was very clean and kitchen was well stocked with good cookware, plenty of dishes, glassware and even some cleaning supplies. Owners were good with the paperwork and I had my security deposit back very quickly.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY
We spent a week in early August. The place is beautiful! Very well maintained and extremely well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The neighborhood is great and it is a very short walk to the beach. There are many trails for walking, etc. It is also a short walk to shops and restaurants. The owners are very responsive and very helpful.

We stayed at this cottage for a week in July and can highly recommend it.
The house is beautifully decorated with care and detail and have everything you need.
It's a short walk to the beach and village and there is a nice hiking trail.

We will definitely be back.
