Great host, amazing property.

If you are looking for remote yet perfectly located spot for your Montana/Glacier National Park adventures then this is the spot for you! The cabin is located near the Camas road entrance to the park which allowed us to avoid the crowds waiting in line for the main entrance.
The cabin itself is beautifully curated with the owners collection on antiques and overlooks a creek with incredible mountain views and star gazing that cannot beat! The kitchen was hands down the best stocked kitchen I have ever experienced as a frequent vacation renter, which was key for these millennial chefs and food snobs! The cabin was clean and homey! Perfect for a relaxing mountain stay!
Communication with the host was excellent! There has been a problem with the pump the week before my stay and he alerted me well before my trip in case it couldn’t have been fixed in time for our trip. Thankfully the pump was fixed in time! It would have been tragic to have missed out on this gem of a cabin!

We loved staying in this cabin. It was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Richard was available for any questions we had. The views and serenity were amazing!

Infested with mice no power for a day and no water because well pump was out. In order for you to use toilet had to take 5 gallon buckets and walk to a pond. Had to throw away food that mice had gotten into. I can send pictures of infestion. Need a serious refund.

Wow! This place is WONDERFUL! The views from this cabin are amazing. Comfortable patio furniture that is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine in the evenings. The inside of the cabin is beautifully decorated with lots of antiques and feels homey. Clean, and the owner has stocked the cabin with everything you would need to live there. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals.
I could see the stars from the master bed every night. Comfortable beds. The temperatures were warm the week we stayed, however the cabin never was “hot” and it cooled down to a perfect sleeping temp every night.
Awesome to have a washer and dryer to do laundry midway through the week as well.
The owner was super nice and checked in with us when we arrived. Made sure we knew if there was anything we needed we could contact him anytime. Our family felt very well taken cared of and we will stay at this cabin again the next time we visit!

Awesome place….there are just a couple things to know…there is very little privacy, no walls around bedrooms, so make sure you go with people you really like! The upstairs bedroom is a twin bed with a 2nd twin mattress on the floor. There is plenty of electricity from the solar/generator, but there is no AC. We came in July, temps in the mid-80’s. I am a heart patient and have a heat intolerance….so just be aware if you do as well. There are about 20 rugged, DUSTY miles of gravel road to get to the cabin, so find a way to cover your luggage or they will be very dirty/dusty when you get there. The living room furniture is not extremely comfortable…but still nice…most people don’t spend a ton of time in the cabin anyway. I do really recommend this cabin….it is breathtaking and the location is A+. Richard, the owner was great, his decorations are museum worthy…it is a wonderful place and I highly recommend it….I just wanted to put this out there.

Imagine a space that provides remote,
distraction-free peaceful restoration, while also being able to make memories in GNP and the surrounding areas.... this is THAT place! Our blended family of 7 (kids ages 14-23) had plenty of room at Richard's cabin and bunkhouse. The pictures show everything accurately and we hope we are lucky to return soon! Richard was extremely helpful and went out of his way to assist in fixing a flat tire. Our kids loved playing with his dogs, Jocko and Rocky, and are still talking about them! This cabin is a treasure, look no further!

Property is off the hook in regards to location and views. Richard is a great host. I would highly recommend this property for a family vacation in a remote location.

Thanks to the owner Richard who really has thought of everything to make a stay in his home memorable. The views at every turn are amazing and the house itself well appointed. Quite a bumpy ride into the property so be prepared. But Polebridge in general is a bumpy ride. A truck fares well. All in all, the property and the home was lovely.

Wonderful off-grid facilities in the Flathead National Forest. Complete privacy and spectacular views of the mountains. Close to many attractions of Glacier National Park. Had a GREAT time at this home.

Absolutely great place to stay!! Loved the remoteness but still had internet. Great view sitting on the deck. We met Richard (the owner) and loved talking to him. 5 star all the way!!

This home was outstanding in every way. We loved being in Richard’s home. Everything we could possibly have needed plus the bunk house that we did not use. The listing says the cabin sleeps four. I would say the fourth is a stretch. Meticulously clean. Lovely decor for the north west region. We would return in a minute.

We cannot say enough nice things about this cabin and the owner, Richard! It is definitely a bit off the beaten track, but this is what made it so special. We had lots of privacy and it was definitely a good way to get away from it all.
You should check out the Polebridge Mercantile, which has a fantastic bakery and food truck. You should also check out the Home Ranch Bottoms, a relaxing lunch/dinner place. Lake McDonald is about a 1 hour drive, Logan Pass is a 2 hour drive, and the Eastern side of Glacier, including the Many Glacier entrance, takes about 3 hours.

A beautiful home in a beautiful setting with gorgeous views! We stayed here with our 4 young adult children and had one of our best vacations yet! The owner Richard was responsive and readily available with any questions we had. This home is well stocked with most anything you need and is like a museum full of beautiful antiques that are nicely arrange

This is a great property and wonderful location to explore Glacier and surrounds. The kitchen is well-stocked (you’ll need to bring basics like oil, foil, and condiments but plenty of spices and storage containers) to easily prepare meals. The big table is an inviting place for dinner after a day hiking. The washer and drier were handy, too, and appreciated. Fridge was plenty big for a family of 4 for 5 nights. Note that if you go into Glacier via the Camas Rd entrance, we never had to show our reservation for Going to the Sun Road or park entrance tickets (we did need them to get back). You completely avoid the lines and congestion of West Glacier. We never saw a bear but heard them one early morning as we left the house for an early start to the day. We found the road dusty but perfectly drivable with any sort of vehicle. We drove up to the Canadian border and that section of the road is much rougher. We’d certainly stay here again.

The property was lovely and the views were amazing, but the host has not properly equipped the cabin for how remote the location actually is. The generator battery died the second night. It is 2 hours drive to civilization in an emergency. When we reached the owner from a cabin in Polebridge, he said "shouldn’t you all just go to bed anyway" at 9:30pm on our vacation. I felt that was a very odd thing to say. There was no apology, no solution offered, and ultimately no offer to discount the price at all for our trouble. My husband has a c-pap machine, we had 2 toddlers, and we run a business and had to have internet early that morning to communicate with customers. We understand things go wrong and it is off grid, but we stayed at this place because we were assured that it had electricity and wi-fi. There should have been an extra battery or charger for the generator on site. It was a totally preventable situation.
The stove also broke after the second night and we were unable to cook meals for the remainder of our stay which made a huge financial difference with 11 people. The caretaker , Nick, who was very helpful and courteous ( unlike the owner) tried his best but was unable to get the stove working again.
One of the 3 toilets was also broken the first night, but we were informed of that before we arrived and that was taken care of the next day.
There were also only 6 patio chairs and most were very worn and ripped. The house sleeps 10 people and the balcony is amazing so a few more STURDY and comfortable chairs would be nice.
Overall, we had a great vacation and didn’t let these things ruin it. The host will have no problem renting the property because of the location primarily and because it is in fact a great place. I just hope he can learn some customer service skills and maybe put some money into fixing some of the things that are wearing out so that others will have a better experience. I would have been much more understanding had he offered even a token compensation or apology.

We want to thank the homeowner for sharing his beautiful home with us. The decor was great to browse. The views were spectacular and the sound of the river was wonderful. We did several river rafting trips and went on the Road to the Sun in Glacier. We hiked and swam and took in the views. The Polebridge Mercantile was a treat; their baking skills are fabulous.

We really loved this place. We did a lot of hiking in Glacier National Park and surrounding area, white water rafted on the Flathead river, and kayaked on Flathead Lake. We spent a couple of days just hanging around the cabin and thoroughly enjoyed it. It accommodated us very well and was very peaceful and relaxing with absolutely beautiful views. Make sure you inquire about the additional bunkhouse fees and enjoy your stay!

Words can't describe how beautiful the cabin and property are. We felt instantly comfortable and at home in the cabin that is decorated with such care and flair. Outside, you can hear the rushing water of the river below and see wildflowers and grand mountain vistas everywhere you look.
Richard was an exceptional host, contacting me months before our arrival to make sure we understood about getting road ticket passes into Glacier, and I really appreciated that because we would not have known if he hadn't told us.
I thought "off the grid" would be more like camping, but wow, this place was luxurious! There is nothing special you have to do to live there and I am very impressed with the workings of the cabin.
We live a long, long way from here, but my family and I would love to come back. It is so peaceful, relaxing, and gorgeous.
We saw the hugest grizzly bear make its way by the pond and wander through the yard (it kept its distance from the house where we were), then leave down the hillside toward the river. It was an experience of a lifetime!
This place is exceptional!!!!
Thank you, Richard, for sharing your lovely home!

We stayed 4 nights and I was always in awe of the beauty around us. The house is wonderful. Location is nice and snug in the mountains. It is far from everything which is what we wanted. The nearest town was over an hour away, which I loved. Richard was very friendly and easy to work/communicate with. Would definitely stay again!

The property was way better than the photos! We absolutely loved our stay. The house was off the grid but had solar power and a back up generator. We had everything we needed. The owner was super friendly and spoke with me about the area before we arrived to answer questions I had. The property manager who lives in the area was amazing as well. I highly recommend this property. We also saw a ton of animal tracks on the property so if you are looking to see animals this is the place!
If I could leave more than 5 stars I would!

Everything about this cabin was 5 stars! Very clean, well stocked, beautiful views! Our boys loved having the bunkhouse! Very peaceful setting with a view (and sounds) of the creek. The only negative is the rough, rocky road to get there. Not being from the area, we weren’t prepared for the road. That being said, we’d stay again! And we’ll appreciate our Illinois paved roads full of potholes! Lol. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

A cabin in woods that is a fully stocked beautifully setup home. Views are incredible. An incredible get away to unplug from life’s usual stresses. Thank you!

This home was one of the best vacation rentals we’ve had. The home was perfect for our group of 3. It was spacious, well appointed, clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels and linens. Kitchen well stocked. The decor was phenomenal, gorgeous. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of fans and blankets. No A/C but the home stayed surprisingly cool even on 90 degree days. The washer and dryer were appreciated and saw much use. The back deck is a little slice of Heaven. Sitting out there with a good book, listening to the water, gentle breeze, gorgeous views, comfy chair was perfect
The location was away from the crowds but still easy to do anything we wanted to do on the west side. The road was in good condition and easily drivable. The Polebridge Mercantile is almost too close. Forget the bear claws, the cinnamon rolls and sticky buns are where it’s at! We loved the proximity to Kintla Lake. We rented kayaks at Polebridge and spent an entire day there. We had a fun day with a little road trip. We went north out of the driveway, took the left onto Red Meadow Lake Rd. Fished at Red Meadow Lake. Continued on around to Upper Whitefish Lake and down to Whitefish. Lunch at Buffalo Café. Continued on around and visited Hungry Horse Dam and Reservoir. Then back up through West Glacier for Sweet Peaks ice cream. Then through Apgar to Camas Rd up to North Fork Rd and back to the cabin. Great day!
Thanks so much, Richard, for sharing your little piece of Heaven with us!! We hope to return some day!

Richard is a great owner that wants you to have the best stay possible. The cabin and property are even better than pictured here in our opinion. We actually expected the cabin to be smaller. We found it hard to leave the cabin and visit Glacier because the property and views at the cabin were so nice, Thank you again for sharing your property here. We look forward to returning in the future.

We had the best time getting away from it all. The cabin was absolutely beautiful along with property. We couldn’t of asked for a better place to stay. Be prepared to drive because you are indeed off the grid. Roads are also pretty bumpy, be prepared. We will be back

I'm debating on giving this property an honest review, out of concern that it will make it more difficult to rent in the future. The house is located several miles north of Polebridge, which is a pretty remote place by all accounts. Several miles of gravel roads (with no cellular coverage for quite a while in any direction) create a civilization / technology barrier that was exactly what our family needed. Yet we were 50 minutes to Columbia Falls / West Glacier and civilization as a whole. From the back porch, the house overlooks a mountain valley with a robust creek (and backwaters) at the bottom. We witnessed quite a bit of wildlife following this creek. A large variety of mountain birds frequent the property. Being still and quiet for 10 minutes creates a swirl of numerous species completely ignorant of your presence. The main house is an impressive and modern home, and a bunk house is about 150 feet away. Solar power only, with a back-up propane generator. Heat is via wood stove or an automatic propane convection heater (only needed at night during the summer). It's located about 10 minutes from the Polebridge ranger station and entry into the backcountry of Glacier National Park. the house is about 40 minutes from Apgar Village (along the most beautifully scenic road in Flathead national forest, rivaling that of Going to the Sun in GNP). LOTS of trailheads in any direction, and a variety of recreation opportunities abound. Nearby town of Polebridge has a great store (Polebridge Mercantile), bar (Northern Lights Saloon), and nearby restaurant/bar camp (Home Ranch Bottoms). Locals and visitors mingle here, with a couple of live music options too. We were privileged to witness an adult male Grizzly wander around the edge of the property chowing on bushes on day - from a distance.Anyhow, this is the fourth time we've visited this area in the last several years. We've traveled in big groups (25+), and just as our clan, and a variety of town-based and rural-based properties. If you're looking for unplugging from the modern world, surrounding yourself in nature, yet having sufficient modern appliances to make cooking and cleaning easy, this is the property for you.

Getting out to the property was a challenge if you are not used to rural roads, but the scenery and the cabin are well worth it.

We had a great visit at Richard's home in Polebridge. The location is perfect for anyone looking to explore the west side of Glacier National Park, Bowman and Kintla lake areas. Great view of the river and feels like you are very far from civilization- which you are! Richard went the extra step to accommodate to our group, thoughtful, and easy to coordinate with. We would stay again!
