Location
Getting bitten multiple times-All of the family.
The pool was closed and no discount given which is why we booked the hotel!!!! We think that was deplorable tbh

The room
Breakfast could be better I needed to ask twice for a coffee then had to end up getting my own milk

The room was spacious. Breakfast was good. We were made to feel welcome on arrival and really appreciated our request for late checkout being granted. Shame we did not see this staff member the remainder of our stay.
The bottled water and complimentary biscuits and teabags were appreciated. The reception hall was decorated beautifully and smelled so fresh when we left. Possibly for the wedding celebrations but the flowers in basket on the bike were lovely.
The pool area could do with a revamp. The tiles near the jacuzzi were black - quite off-putting.
The rails near the loungers were wobbly when I leaned for support.
The changing area showers need some attention. The curtains were hanging off in the cubicles. The soap dispenser was missing, and in another, it was empty.
We were supposedly in a premier room, the size was comfortable but the bed was quite dipped in the centre, not particularly comfortable. The bedroom windows were not clean inside, the net curtains mildewed in the corner, and one of the handles on the window was broken.
On departure, we were completely ignored. The reception staff was too busy talking with a colleague. My young son handed over the key cards and said we are going home now. He repeated this three times before getting a brief reaction and goodbye. The staff then returned to their chat! This was the most annoying thing, actually, which has now led me to bring up the afore issues.
I did not bring these things to the attention of the staff while we were there, as I just wanted to enjoy the short time we had there. If our room was supposed to be premier, I am certainly glad I did not book the standard room.
Overall, it turned out to be a disappointing visit. Not value for money.

it’s a nice place but it’s a conference centre.
it’s not somewhere you would go as a couple.

All staff were very helpful and friendly

The leisure facilities and the food was good.
steam room could have been better and damage in one of the corners with a pipe visible, also jacuzzi and sauna could have been warmer.

Food was sensational and staff were extremely pleasant. Facilities are amazing and the hotel is exceptionally clean.
The latch on our bedroom window was broken and letting in a draft. I had to place a towel on the window.

very spacious, staff where friendly, places where clean
very expensive for drinks (a non alcoholic Prosecco £8.50…) the food was awful, we where at a wedding and the potatoes where terrible, beef was dry even with gravy and breakfast the next morning had next to nothing. milk was sour (was sick from eating it) and the hot buffet food was cold. not much selection of continental food more needed to be put out however wasn’t. we were down for breakfast at 9am so wasn’t too late for having food available. had to ask twice for a pot of tea and when it was brought out had to then ask for milk. just pure standard of food/breakfast compared to other places we have visited

The hotel was nice. The one bar maid was lovley
It was under staffed, got drink orders wrong and was told it was right. Waited 50 minutes on a drinks order before dinner.

The reception staff were welcoming when we arrived and very friendly to our daughter.
when we checked into the room, there was underwear on the wardrobe, the carpets were dirty and the toilet seat was stained. The double bed was quite uncomfortable, mattress was very hard.

The spa and the owner was perfect , breakfast lady was very friendly the overall look of the property was lovely
when checked in the room we were allocated was smelly of strong stale smoke, however we were moved to a nicer room, no towelling robes in a spa hotel either ? restaurant food was abysmal and over priced , my friend had to send back raw chicken , my steak ciabatta was bland , my other two friends didn’t rate their meal at all…. dessert was nice

When you walk in it has a lovely smell and autumn cosy feeling.
Our room had a lovely bed window that made the room feel spacious. Room was very clean aswell.
Breakfast was lovely and the service from the breakfast staff was 10/10
Greeted by the receptionist was not very welcoming. No information was giving to me about the spa facilities or where they were located nor how to purchase swim cap/ robes.
Lady's changing room for swimming area is open planned so no separate private rooms to get changed.
I found this uncomfortable as young children were using the same changing rooms.
Charlies Bistro....
Over priced small portions.
Ordered chicken burger with chuck chips. Chicken was RAW and a hand full of chips for £19.95. Got sent back and was giving a main meal for free. ( good customer service)
