Large decks (and a smaller one facing the street) with a beautiful view over magnificent Lake Tahoe. Our Swedish Chalet is homey and kid friendly with lots of games, toys, puzzles and beach toys. . For big kids: lots of games in the cupboards. Also lots of cycling and hiking trails. Many beautiful beaches all around and boat rentals.
Large deck off main floor with umbrella table and comfortable chairs and chaises. BBQ and a great place to watch boats go by. "Happy Hour on the deck" is very popular.

This custom designed, three story, Chalet in North Lake Tahoe's prestigious 'Dollar Point' is a wonderful Family vacation home, close to the lake. The kitchen features hand made pine cabinets and is adjacent to the spacious living/dining area with a huge lovely wood burning/gas fireplace and lots of seating. Bring the kids and enjoy the large deck and expansive lake views. BBQ on the deck while watching the boats.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the cooking utensils you need and pretty European dishes and glassware. You will be able to set a nice table in the dining room or enjoy going out to one of the many fine restaurants in the area. Ill be happy to recommend some of our favorites. Eating bar between kitchen and dining table for extra seating or serving. Fully stocked with all the spices you need and pots and pans.
Two King beds, Two Queen beds ,two bunk beds. One of the bathrooms has a very popular steam shower.
Huge picture windows and high 18 foot beamed ceilings. The ambiance and feeling in this home makes for a great family vacation. .
Second floor: King bed, Queen bed with bath and bathtub..
Lower floor: King bed, Double bed and two twin beds with an all tile bath and shower.
The amenities include: . Bikers: Trails all around. Boaters: Coast guard pier with ramp within a mile. Many rental boat places. Skiing: 15 -30 minutes to Squaw, Alpine, Homewood, Northstar and Diamond Peak .Skylandia beach is within 10 minutes. Reno airport is one hour drive away.
A full week rental and preferably from Sunday to Sunday is preferred but shorter stays are acceptable.

A word of caution: Pine needles are a nuisance with all the huge trees all around. br>Please do not disturb the peace and quiet in our lovely neighborhood. If partying on the deck, for instance, be respectful of the neighbors. No loud noise after 9:00, a $1500 fine if rules were not followed.
We are presently taking out carpeting and replacing with hardwood floors.

This was a wonderful place to gather and enjoy time together at Tahoe! There was plenty of space for everyone to stretch out and have their own private rooms. Birgitta was very responsive and helpful all the way through! We hope to stay here again in the future.

Our family traveled from all over the US to meet in Lake Tahoe for what turned out to be a FABULOUS vacation! This chalet rental was a perfect size for us and allowed us to spread out throughout the home. The convenient bunk beds in one bedroom were great for the kids…and the bedroom nestled in the corner on the ground level offered tons of privacy with a private deck and a full bathroom right next door. The beds were amazingly comfortable too! If you have a big family and want to be comfortable, this is the home for you! Also…the kitchen was very well stocked with condiments galore, teabags, coffee filters, cooking oils, and all types of vinegars. No need to bring soaps either as the bathrooms were well stocked with body washes, shampoo, and conditioners. Dish and laundry detergent all included as well. Very convenient! We had an excellent vacation and we’re already planning the next one 😊

The accommodations were just what we were looking for. My husband and me, our married daughters and their families (6 adults and 4 children) all fit comfortably in the home. The house was very clean and welcoming. The owner is very nice and answers questions quickly. Highly recommend.

Had a beautiful vacation this winter complete with 29” of snow. The cabin was large enough for our extended family and everyone was comfortable. The manager was very responsive and easy to work with. Highly recommended.

This was our second time in this house. Great for a large family. There were 10 of us plus the dog and everyone had a bedroom. Three bathrooms helped a lot. The view from the loft, as well as the back deck is wonderful. Ate most of our meals outside. We noticed there were less people and less bugs in late August. Will go back again.

Birgitta is super responsive with communication, which is very helpful. The property is not only beautiful but well-equipped with everything you need. The kitchen is nicely stocked, too. There are very few properties available that are both wheelchair accessible and dog-friendly, and this house suited all of our needs,

Poor air quality made my family not able to go!! I got the insurance!!! They informed me not covered !!! I use Vrbo many times in 1 yr. Think I should try something else. Disappointed in insurance coverage Don’t feel I was treated fairly

Great location
House was just what we wanted- big enough to fit all of us, ideal location, and an elevated porch with lake view that I could have spent all day on.
Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed plus plenty of dishes and silverware for all of us. Will definitely look to stay here again. Thank you!

It is a perfect place for a large family or several small families.
It is perfect, warm, plenty or room for sleeping, eating, playing games or just enjoying the fire. Several tv's although we only watched the one in the main room with the fireplace. Enjoyed the steam shower. we would go back although it is usually hr to get everyone together because of busy lives. Only plus for covid. Definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is in a great location and has a great view of the lake. The cabin can hold two families comfortably. Our host was very responsive when we had questions. Overall, I would recommend if you are OK with rustic!

This is a great place to stay for a good size group. We had four adults and seven children with plenty of room for everyone. The owner is very responsive to any questions. The house is nice and well cared for and the location is wonderful.

Incredible stay in beautiful Lake Tahoe
My fiancee and I came up to Tahoe for a quick weekend getaway and we couldn't have been happier with our stay at this fantastic chalet on the north shore of Tahoe. The home is so charming and cozy with beautiful views of the lake. Sipping coffee on the deck every morning was a highlight, as well as the giant fireplace we took advantage of each night. Plenty of amenities in the cabin (plates, cooking tools, bbq, steamroom, etc.) and super convenient to Tahoe City (a quick 5 min drive or Uber). We'll definitely be back and thank you again for being so gracious!

The Swedish Chalet
The Swedish Chalet is 5 star, it's such an amazing place to stay for relax, recharge, and celebrate New Year count down with love ones. Big house with plenty of spaces, rooms, and a terrific personal steam room. Also, cleaning crew done an excellent job to keep the place nice and clean. Most important, if you have an emergency or question, the owner is reachable and available to help you.

Swiss Chalet Stay- Sept. 14, 15, and 16 2018
We had a family get together at Lake Tahoe for the wedding of our niece. I rented the Swiss Chalet so we could all be together and nearby to the wedding venue and reception. Our sister in law owns a beautiful home in Dollar Point and suggested we look at VRBO for a place that could accommodate all of us. We were all happy with the home and its amenities. I have only one suggestion. The driveway and front porch area were covered with pine needle droppings from the nearby trees. I realize that this must be a never-ending battle, but it made the walk down from the street a little slippery and could be dangerous. I swept off the front porch so none of the needles would be tracked into the house. Other than that, we had a great time!!

Worked well for our large group!
House is exactly as described, a wonderful place for our family reunion. The great room and deck was perfect for hanging out. Beach a short walk down the hill with chairs and all. Kitchen small but functional and well stocked. Beds very comfortable. As others have stated house is a bit dated, but that adds to the charm. Sofa does need to be replaced, it is well worn. The owner was a delight to work with. Did not realize there were no beach towels, so don’t forget to bring your own.

Over all review - Swedish Chalet Outstanding - 7 adults, 2 teens, 3 children, and 2 toddlers - There were beds for all with the 2 toddlers sleeping in pack and plays. This three level home had outside decks on every level providing enjoyment of the great outdoors, morning coffee and evenings visiting. Kitchen was provided with all things necessary for day to day living. There was a bathroom on each of the three levels which was very convenient. A large beautiful new gas bbq was extremely nice. Especially nice was the proximity to swimming pool, tennis courts and beach. All extremely well kept. Additionally local shopping, tourist shopping and a variety of eateries were within short drives.
Our family had an unforgettable week, partly because of this excellent place to stay. Prior to stay owner was helpful in answering questions and showed great pride in being a good hostess.

wonderful summer vacation
Perfect place for a reunion with friends for a fun filled week. Great layout to the house with a view of the lake. So much to do for our kiddos; hiking, biking, beach, pool, and rafting.
Owner provided an extra trash pickup for the full trash bin upon our arrival. Gas grill came in handy. Such a fun week I had to stretch to find a complaint; that being the furniture in the common area was dated and not very comfortable for relaxing. Beds were great though.

The house is old but charming and comfortable. The location is great and the amenities, namely accessibility, proximity to the lake with private beach, the lap- swimming pool, and great picnic area by the pool are major pluses. The owner is very responsive, kind, and accommodating.

Fantastic birthday celebration and family reuinion!
We just returned from a special and memorable week at the Swedish Chalet in Dollar Point, Lake Tahoe. We cannot say enough about this property with its huge deck, lake views and BBQ - perfect for entertaining. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for big dinner parties and opens into a gorgeous family room with a big dining table, bar, bar stools, leather couches and amazing huge fire place. The bedrooms are decorated in mountain decor and there is plenty of room for everyone.
We celebrated my father's 85th bday and family reunion. The amenities at this Tahoe cabin are too many mention; private beach, dock, beach volleyball, beach chairs and umbrellas. There are tennis courts at the beach and up at the private pool which also has all kinds of games and activities for guests. We used it all!
The best part of our special trip was socializing with our family at the cabin, great dinners and music on the deck overlooking beautiful Lake Tahoe.
We will be back!

Wonderful Family Vacation Home
Our family of nine (4 couples and a two year old) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable home. The homeowner Birgitta was very easy to work with, addressing questions and concerns in a very timely manner. Each couple had their own room with a king or queen bed and the two year old had the downstairs bunk room which was quiet and perfect for naps and bedtime. The well stocked kitchen provided all our cooking needs, including spices, condiments, etc.
This is definitely one of the older homes in Dollar Point, showing some wear and tear both inside and out. That did not bother us though as the chalet is so homey, comfortable, and charming with its Swedish themed decor. We enjoyed morning coffee as well as BBQ's on the deck with beautiful views of the lake. The HOA recreation facilities are outstanding. The lap swimmers in our family enjoyed uncrowded morning workouts at the pool and in the afternoons the whole family played in the pool and then headed to the bocce ball court. Those who brought bikes took advantage of the nearby bike paths and mountain bike trails. The private beach was a great place for launching our kayaks and swimming. The cabin is only a five minute drive from Tahoe City so shopping, restaurants, marina etc. were easily accessible. We would not hesitate to stay at the Swedish Chalet again!

Great place and location for big families and best owner ever!
My family was looking for a place to stay for our first trip to Tahoe as one big family and we hit the jackpot when we found this Swedish Chalet. This place has 5 rooms and a loft! We have 4 couples; all with kids. Everyone had a room and put all the kids in one too! Woohoo! The best part of the house was how responsive the owner was. The driveway was icy and we kept slipping; we let the owner know and she had someone come melt the ice and placed salt down in less than an hour! Super responsive and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. Thank you so much Birgitta!
