Nice hotel, high quality breakfast, very kind and helpful staff (reception, bar, restaurant, cleaning personel)
Free and direct access to the Warmbaderhof thermal pools (swimming and a warm pool with massage) where you can bath in the spring itself. Unlike the spa this place was not crowded so you can relax and enjoy the fantastic water and the silence
Our room was on the second floor and faced the walls of the spa so it was a bit dark. I think the view can be better on the the third floor

The location is perfect as well as being next to the therma spa, it is right next to a train station trains going to villach city centre coming very half an hour. Staff were very friendly too was comfy and had everything we needed and more. The buffet breakfast and dinner had something for everyone.
My main issues were with the therma spa park. First of all the hotel advertises thy you can get an hour early but it doesn’t state that only one thing in the spa is open at this time. Further we opted for a late check out so we could stay at the spa longer only for our bands to stop working and i had to go back to the hotel for the staff to update our bands again.

The therme is a great one, big, diverse, and it’s really convenient to have it within your hotel. that was the main reason we chose to stay. The food is nice if you are open to eat anything, but the variety for vegetarians was not great. The hotel is modern and pleasant looking.
At least for our stay, we felt the staff wasn’t too nice. Most of them didn’t know English, so it was hard to communicate and we felt misunderstood. one night I asked for extra pillows (the bed only came with 2, and we like to sleep elevated), and the staff member was actually mad at us for asking. The bed was really uncomfortable for us, and the room was quite too warm even when we turned on the AC.

Very polite and helpfull stuff.
Very clean , spacious and comfy room.
Dinning tables were very near each other instead of 2m apart in times of covid19 still, as guests are still wearing a masks all the time.
Did not liked a fact that big number of other non-hotel guests are using pools, it can be crowded.

What makes the hotel fantastic is the friendly staff and the access to the Kara-wankers wimming pools and fitness center. Also there is access to the natural Thermen. The Kara-wankers aqua complex is beautiful, several pools in one complex. The fitness club is amazing, the hotel gives free access to this club, which has a huge amount of equipment. The breakfast is also fantastic. It is really nice staying with the kara-wankers.

Breakfast options become repetitive if you stay more than one night

The buffet dinner and breakfast were delicious. Parking was free and easy to access. The spa section was much quieter than the main section with the pools. The room was warm and spacious.
Access to the spa was not included beyond the checkout time

The location, the access to nature
A little too warm in my room

Nice clean rooms, very good breakfast. Robes with towels and a bag is very useful.
See through glass wall in the bathrooms.
It lacks a privacy for a person inside the bathroom. It could have more opaque finish or other means of blocking the view without sacrificing the intended overall hotel design.

For swimmers, the 25m sport pool is a good place to do a few lengths. There's also a good gym. We didn't have time to try the natural springs, but it's a unique feature that deserves a mention. Despite the excellent hotel breakfast, I think visiting the pool and spa (without being a hotel guest) might allow you to get the best from this resort. Our experience as guests in the hotel itself was disappointing, given there is good accommodation at a fraction of the price to be had elsewhere in Villach.
From the moment we arrived, things didn't go well. Signs on arrival tell drivers that the hotel car parks are full and to use the garage. (The car parks are not full, and we found the garage only after asking for help.) The lady who dealt with us at the Hotel reception was strangely unhelpful and cold. A fiddly system of hotel key cards and wrist tags gives you entry to the hotel, car park, pool & spa. Dinner at the restaurant felt a bit too formal and overpriced given what I had thought was the family orientation of the place. Our room was fine but considering the price, the lack of a coffee machine (or even a kettle) was disappointing. Even paying for parking was complicated - the only payment machine is broken, so payment must be made at the spa, with the usual grumbling about paying by card. By the end of our short stay I'm sorry to say we were happy to see the hotel in the rear-view mirror.

Stunning the thermal center.

Great Thermal place, set between the mountains. Nice food and service. Great swimming pool with river gravel in the sanatorium area. Very nice rooms.
cooking a little too rivisited and sophisticated, some choices quite debatable, maybe something simpler would be better for all palates. The thermal area ov Villach is nice, but it is wedged between a railway and a mountain, so wherever you go you have to cross the rails passing under the station. So it is not ideal for a stroll in the old town starting on foot from the hotel
