Relaxing cabin in the woods with a warm outdoor feel. Plenty of space for parking, located on 7 acres. Right outside of New Meadows , and 16 miles to McCall. Property borders the Weiser River Trail. Hiking, hunting, fishing, and many other fun outdoor activities are all nearby. Outdoor pets welcome. There is a wide variety of wildlife in the area and there is definitely a chance that you may encounter them .
This is perfect for those that want to get away from the crowds and yet be close to a wide variety of activities.

We enjoyed and deeply appreciate your beautiful cabin! The special touches throughout are so fun and fulfilling, not too much - just absolutely perfect. It was so enjoyable to watch each one of our children gasp with delight when they came through the door and soaked it all in! We want to thank you for not only sharing this treasure with us, but the work you have done collecting and the furnishings. What a service of love you have put into your home away from home. We are delighted we found it! Oh I have to stop myself because I could go on and on, we did not want to leave!

We were visiting family who live in New Meadows. The Sportsman’s Acreage was even more beautiful than the pictures, fantastically provisioned, beautifully decorated, and extreme clean. We appreciated the host’s prompt communication and the welcome binder left in the cabin. We would absolutely stay here again.

House is amazing. Love that the rooms all have Queen and King beds with multi couches in living and bonus room. Didn't realize it doesn't have AC but with the trees and shade it wasn't as bad as I would have thought in August.

Beautiful place! The location was great! The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the kitchen had quite the array of appliances we needed for our meals. It may seem silly, but having containers to store food in to place in the fridge was a big for us. The host was super sweet and even treated us for the special occasion. We really enjoyed our stay and all the accomodations.

We usually stay in McCall, but decided to try New Meadows and really enjoyed it! This cabin had lots of room to spread out in, a great deck to enjoy, and everything we needed. You will hear the cars on the hwy, but there is so much land around the cabin and it sits in such a secluded area from other people you do feel you are out in the woods, yet just a short drive to fun hikes and ice cream in McCall! We have lived in Idaho 30 years but went to places near this cabin we had never been before. Host is very responsive and cabin has everything needed to enjoy time in the mountains.

This cabin is Amazing!!!! Ellen is also amazing! Lots of room for everyone, setting is beautiful. We enjoyed every minute there. Ellen left me a lovely note and gift for my retirement that was so thoughtful. Just tells what a wonderful person she is. She also sent a left over piece of material back to us. She's awesome. I hope to go back again. Thanks so much!!

New Meadows is one of my favorite places in Idaho so I was beyond happy that my son and his wife chose it to celebrate their marriage. I wasn't sure that we could find a nice place in New Meadows that could accommodate all of us, but The Sportsman's Retreat was the perfect place for our family of 9 and mini Aussie, Lolo. The house and location are beautiful and even better in person. Everything was meticulous, comfortable, well appointed...and it even smells wonderful! Our family, traveling from 5 different states, needed time to clean up and change for rehearsal and dinner, and Ellen, our host, was especially gracious to allow us an early check in which we all so appreciated. The only problem was that our stay wasn't long enough. It was a wonderful place to relax and hang out, and we agreed that we would love to go back for a longer visit. And...the complimentary bottle of wine and truffles were enjoyed by all. Thank you so much from all of us!

My gal pals of the class of 77 spent a fun filled weeked at this amazing rural property. While we didn't embark on any of the adventures there was plenty of hiking, fishing and sight seeing within 20 or 30 minutes of the home.

The cabin met our expectations, even exceeded it in several instances. It had a warm cabin decor and feel. The kitchen was especially well stocked, the beds comfortable and the entire place roomy. A special surprise was the 6 shower-heads in the master bedroom bathroom. Too cool! Highly recommended to others. Just be aware there is slightly less than a mile of gravel road and be sure to bring mosquito spray. The only thing we could suggest is a sign of some sort at the driveway turnoff since it slopes downward off the right and the cabin isn't highly visible...one of our two cars drivers missed the turn. But these are little things...overall a great family experience at the cabin, thanks!

Very well stocked home. It was perfect for relaxing and staying in. Large home with a cozy feel. Star link was perfect for a “off the grid but connected “ stay. Very close to New Meadows and not to far to McCall. We love it and are planning next summer to return and hope to stay here again.

We looked at several cabins on VRBO and saw many prices. This one was on the lower end, in my opinion, but was VERY nice. Everything was ready when we arrived, communication with the host prompt and polite. We have zero complaints and only have positive things to say. It was beautiful, roomy, great kitchen and bathrooms. Rooms were comfortable with 2 rooms on the first floor good for older people while the master and bonus room were upstairs. Honestly, this cabin was as good or better than some more expensive cabins we saw on the website. Highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed.

We had such a wonderful time at this cabin. It was a beautiful cabin and wonderful property. We enjoyed a much needed family vacation. The cabin is large, comfortable, clean and quiet. The decor is gorgeous, very nicely done. You can tell the owner put a lot of thought into making the cabin a perfect place to rest and relax. The cabin stays nice and cool in the evenings and mornings. Just shut the windows during the day and the place stays comfortable temperature wise. It's secluded and peaceful. We took several hikes and enjoyed it immensely. Payette Lake is about 20 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Ellen, for a great home away from home!

We booked a last minute 4th of July getaway. The cabin was perfect! Just like the other post say, pictures don’t do it justice, each room was decorated so nicely and the feel was warm, cozy and beautiful. The kitchen was stocked up so well. I would definitely book again. The host answered fast whenever I had a question. We extended one extra day just because we loved it so much. Great place! The location is excellent. Very private with paths through forest to walk. The home had a TV and DVD player with lots of good DVDs. There were a lot of board games and card games my kids loved playing. There is no A/C, so it did get a little hot mid day, but not too bad.
