2 Übernachtungen zum Wandern

Die Lage der Wohnung ist gut, sofern man zur Burg Eltz oder in der Umgebung wandern möchte. Der Ort selber schien an den zwei Tagen, die wir dort waren, nahezu "tot". Der einzige Biergarten war zu. Für uns in Ordnung, da wir den Ort nur zur Übernachtung benötigten und ansonsten unterwegs waren. Zuganbindung ist vorhanden und war zuverlässig. Die Wohnung selber ist sehr groß und neben einer guten Ausstattung mit netten Details ergänzt. Es gibt sich jemand scheinbar Mühe. Schade, dass die Sauberkeit an vielen Stellen unzureichend war. Das Bad und die Betten waren aber in Ordnung! Für uns die Hauptsache, um nur zwei Nächte zu bleiben. Menschen, die etwas pingeliger sind als wir, sollten dies aber berücksichtigen. Bei einer Empfehlung im Freundeskreis würden wir dies auch genauso kommunizieren. Preis-Leistung: Für zwei Nächte in Ordnung.

Was uns wirklich gestört hat, war die Komplikation mit der Endreinigungsgebühr. Es war schon in der Buchungsbestätigung verwirrend, da unterschiedlich ausgelegt. Es steht zwar klar dabei, dass diese vor Ort bar bezahlt wird, booking.com zieht sie aber trotzdem mit ab. Sowohl der Mitarbeiter, als auch die Agentur der Wohnung schieben es auf booking.com und booking.com schiebt es auf die Agentur. Für uns nervig, da es einige Telefoniererei und tagelanges Hinterherrennen benötigt hat, unser Geld zurückzuerhalten. Sehr schade, dass diese scheinbare Unstimmigkeit untereinander auf dem Rücken der Gäste ausgetragen wird. Nur aus diesem Grund würden wir persönlich die Wohnung nicht noch einmal buchen.

Well appointed family apartment

A great holiday apartment in Moselkern, with plenty of kitchen items, ideal for a family.

Not a problem with the property but the village is small, without a shop, so having a car or bikes would be advisable. There’s also only a cafe so we went to Trees-Karen and Cochem for dinner, but be advised the trains are only once an hour.

Disappointing

The beds were comfortable.

I was surprised that 50 Euro was demanded upon arrival for cleaning. We had already prepaid 56 Euro for cleaning. Two emails to the owner went without reply to this day. ☹️ The lady who gave us the key left us feeling like we were a bother. And, the instructions were not in English so the book on the table was of no use. The restaurants in Moselkern were closed and we had to drive a good distance for supplies.

Moselkern long weekend

We did get a bottle of wine which was nice.

They didn't provide enough toilet paper for the duration and there was no salt, pepper or even coffee items for use. We were asked to clean out all the bins and take it to the big bins, also to pack away the dishes and still charged the 50 euros for cleaning. There is very little to do in the town itself, if you have a car it is good because you can drive to other places.
