The bed was roomy and comfortable. The facilities clean and made the stay enjoyable. The Green King IPA was a treat.
A small fridge in the room would have topped off a great stay.

Cooked breakfast was very good . but not very healthy. Parking and near to town location ideal
The Wifi did not work and there were different stories from staff. Not very happy with inability to fix it , so no wifi throughout my stay which was one of the reasons for picking it. The pillows very hard and need replacing, the room was very dark due very small stable roof window.

Great pub and accommodation. The landlord and landlady were most accommodating during our two night stay. Our room No 3 was brilliant warm and comfortable decorated to a very high order with everything we could possibly need. Situated in the Eastgate district of Bury Saint Edmunds lovely Old buildings and very quiet and a park opposite leading to the main town and cathedral and ruins. The food was great it's a definite return for us.
Absolutely nothing to dislike

Nice room. Adequate size for a few nights. Good location. Nice to have the pub next door. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Lovely open fire and sofas in the pub. Plenty of parking outside of rooms. Short walk to shops, abbey and other restaurants.
Our room (1) was nearest the pub and next to what I presume was the boiler room. So there was a constant hum of machinery noise in the room. Not good if you are a light sleeper. We had asked for a quiet room with no rooms above - so was surprised to be out here. But we couldn’t be bothered to complain and just purchased some ear plugs, also the place was fully booked, so we knew they couldn’t move us. Our friends had room 5 a much bigger room and no noise, and same cost. So I’d go for room 5 in the future.
Also minor things, the lights were weird and switches confusing as to how to get things to work. And our radiator in the bathroom was coming off the wall. We reported that, but nothing was done while we were there.

We loved that the lodges were detached from the pub with a parking space outside each lodge. Really lovely spaces with everything you need.

The location was ideal and even better to have parking so close to the centre. The building was beautiful inside and out, lovely design. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and great value. Overall fantastic stay.
A fridge in the room would of made it perfect.
