Great Sea Spring Break!

Amazing views, grounds, beach, restaurant! The staff all around were so very kind and helpful. The apartment was just right for us three friends. Good AC. The entire grounds are just gorgeous and peaceful. Highly recommend.
Nothing really!

Nice room and balcony. Kitchenette comletely adequate for a short stay.
Everything was just a little tired, creaky and perhaps in need of some modernisation- but all good :) I would go again

Not much
The Booking site promised a pine clad beach resort with wonderful views of the Med. BUT Dom de la Mere was a building site and our room, at €150 per night had a north facing outlook onto a steel container and old discarded furniture. I asked for a different room and after some hassle was given another room at no extra cost. Surprise when I found the site had charged an extra €60 per night. The site manager rudely suggested ‘Take it or leave it’. So we moved back to the old room.

The staff was very kind and helpful. The beach is very near and for sure one of the best in the area.
Too many things. The apartment was really dirty and smelly, we spent half a day to get it in a decent state, but the smell was still there for the whole stay. No cupboard space since the only one was filled by the boiler, brooms etc., so we had to place our clothes on chairs. The doors were hard to open. There was bad smell on the terrace coming from manholes, the staff tried to solve the problem but with no success, so instead of pine scent we had sewage scent most of the time. The dishwasher did not do a proper job (despite attempts to fix it by the staff) so we washed our dishes by hand. The toilet did not have a window and looked more like a cave than a room. The table in the terrace was under a balcony, but when the neighbours walked out, dirt fell on our table, so we moved it in open air. The bunk bed of the children was so close to the ceiling that one could not even sit on the top bed, so our son slept with us in the "big" bed the whole week.
I might have forgotten something, but I think this is enough.
Ah, of course the rent was expensive, the area is an expensive one, unjustifiably expensive. The price is not worth the stay.

it was quickly available following a catastrophic cancellation of a concurrent booking by Booking.com
My wife and I had become involuntary blood donors, to the mozzies/ midgies which are on Domaine de La mer in their thousands.

great location on seaside, room clean
the second bathroom in our room was tiny and non-practical( in corridor between the two rooms).
bay window keylock not locking.
only restaurant was a tapas bar.

connected rooms were lovely and clean - a little bit small

The location was incredible and so was the view from the room.
The room was not well maintained and the service was not attentive: the shower holder was broken and since a long time; once they forgot to clean our room (but they offered to do it when we informed them) and more than once they didn't restock the toilet paper. The minibar is just an empty fridge. Not all the receptionist were friendly.

Location is fantastic! Just on the beach. View from balcony over the sea - outstanding!
Room could be bigger.

The Domain de la Mer is an excellent option for families that want to enjoy the beaches of Hyeres, without compromising on having a good accommodation. We stayed in one of the villas, which provided plenty of space for our family of 4, in a set up full of nature. Surrounded by pine trees, and walking distance to the beach, le Domain de la Mer is a great option to enjoy the special area of Hyeres. Please note that the place shouldn´t be compared with a hotel: it is not. I see that some reviews are somehow unfair and expect the place to offer the facilities of a hotel. What makes the Domain de la Mer special is precisely that is a different solution for those who want to feel home when they travel. We loved the atmosphere, the beach bar and the surroundings.
The place has great access to the beach, and the pool (although small) was a good option to chill out from time to time.
As mentioned above, le Domain de la Mer is not a hotel, is a "residence de vacances". We knew what to expect, and have little to comment in terms of areas for improvement. The villa was very clean and well furnished. The bedrooms were somehow basis, but this made also easier for the cleaning staff to keep the facilities clean. We received a small welcome package with some soap, WC paper, etc, but apart from that the place came completely empty. Families travelling here should keep this in mind if they arrive late and bring their own groceries. There are some options of supermarket available at 5-10 min drive, but this is important to keep in mind.
We liked the beach, which is very long and has very clean waters, but maybe a little bit too much activity close by in terms of nautic activity (Boats, etc). We had our own paddle, so we could go into the sea and enjoy some quiet moments, but visitor should be aware that the beach may be busy at some times.
Finally, although not a problem for us, i would highlight that you definitely need a car to move around, not an option for people travelling without their own transportation.

Only the weather.
We have been in apartment Tamaris 2 - so one one the most beautiful apartment as the hotel said.
Air condidion didn't work only fan grind the air.
Beach was closing, so if you want go morning for a walk it is not possible.
Staff didn't know English, German etc. Menu in restaurant, signs, informations only in French. Sataff not helpful at all - I felt like a ghots not a guest.
Restaurant: menu onlny in French, menu the same at morning, aftrenoon and evening. Staff can speak only French. It was open when they want. So we must eat somewhere else.
But the worst thing is the dirty and the insects especially in our beds. I think there were bedbugs. Our family has got a lot of bites especially our little doughter. We come back earlier because the place was horrible.
They shouldn't be a hotel only a cheap class camping and only for French people. The place looks only nice on their website.
Before you reserve the room take a look at the photos of bugs which you will have in your room and bites.

good location on the beach, with its own small area of loungers on the sand. great restaurant Noe onsite with great food - albeit service a bit patchy and there isn’t really a proper breakfast option.
the room (in the hotel section) was small, and full of mosquitoes. despite tracking them all down and keeping all doors and windows shut more would appear, possibly through cracks in the window frame or the air con system. There were a few other issues such as there being no soap at all in the bathroom, and the safe being locked and unusable.
the site is lovely, but staff are hard to come by with the reception rarely manned. if you’re not a French speaker communicating via WhatsApp with the staff can be tricky.
