Location, rooms, staff.
stairs, dangerous for toddlers and older people (like my child 2.5 years old, my mother, 67 years old)

Cosy house, warm luxurious bath, great location, all amenities needed, super price!
Stairs steep and small but manageable for the agile. Not suitable for people who struggle with stairs.

The house has a perfect location. Just 8 min walk from historical center and all the monuments, museums and sites. House is really warm , great wifi connection, spacious rooms, super comfy beds.
Was a bit expensive but we still loved it

Overall, our experience was good. This is a charming apartment that is beautifully decorated, comfortable and located in a nice, quiet street that is still fairly close to major sightseeing in the Historic Centre of Bruges. Check-in is pretty late at 5pm and check-out is earlier than we would have liked at 10am. No front desk to store your luggage which can effect your travel plans to and out of Bruges because of luggage.
Kitchen was stocked well with cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates and cutlery allowing us to cook a few meals during our stay. We have an very good butcher shop (Hof Maertens) and bakery (Patisserie Schaeverbeke) just down the street near Church of St Magdalene worth recommending for anyone playing to stay at this property for a longer stay.
Bedrooms were nice, included sufficient space, lighting and comfortable beds. 1/F bathroom was spacious, G/F and 2/F bathroom units fit for purpose and sufficient for space needed.
The stairs within the property are rather steep and have small steps, making them a bit of a challenge for those with larger feet. I found that walking backwards down the stairs made them more manageable and more comfortable. Taking large luggage up the stairs is slightly challenging, particularly to the top floor room. In fact, the top floor stairs are incredibly steep with itsy, bitsy steps. Fun to see and try, a bit sketchy at night, not something recommended for those with walking or mobility issues. Safe? You have decide on this one. I thought it was fine for myself but would understand if others didn't view it to be.
There is no laundry machine at this apartment. This was a problem for us as the laundry mat recommended by Huswell was nearly 15 minute walk from the property. Do your research to find a nearer option if you are concerned about having your clothing cleaned during your stay.
Note: Huswell ask for a large Security Deposit for this property. This was mentioned on Booking.com T&C at the time of booking. However, what they didn't mention until after we had made reservation is that they would charge €25 to refund your security deposit. Yikes! Would be best if they would inform interested guests of this charge within the T&C beforehand.
Even worse was the refund time, which was supposed to be 10-15 working days after our stay. I had to email and ask 4 weeks afterwards and we didn't receive our security deposit, minus €25 charge for nearly 6 weeks. That really shouldn't happen and is something Huswell needs to do ensure they handle in a more timely manner for future guests of this apartment.

we loved the traditional character of the house amd the excellent location

Location of property was very good
The property smelt of drains, the shower head was full of Limescale so the water did not flow out correctly. Beds may need checking for bed bugs as my husband was bitten all over

Quiet area, great location. Less than a mile walk in Amy direction to all of Amsterdam activities.
Great restaurant and social areas.
If you have mobility issues, the lift is extremely slow and small.

good location
did not feel the property was well taken care of. upholstery was stained, kitchen less than clean. site does not advise you are required to pay for linens and did not advise one bedroom was on 3rd floor with VERY steep stairs. Not a place for older adults

This is the most charming house! The hosts offer useful advise. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms, great WiFi and great water pressure. I would definitely recommend it for small families or 2 couples.
The only thing we didn't like were the tiny stairs, very narrow and could be dangerous for some people, although they do add to the charm of the house!

Location, bed and pillows were top. Kitchen was functional and ok.
After booking i received tons of notifications to buy for towels and bed sheets (which were already in the booked package), for insurance (for damages - in fact there are already several damages present - i made photos of), for early checkin and late checkout (whereas checkin started at 17:00 and checkout ended 10:00). A few minutes after 10:00 doorcode was already invalid. Over and over i was invited to read "important" stuff. I preferred to enjoy Bruges - an exceptional great place.
The kitchen was not clean but for the rest ok. The living room furniture was old and not cozy. The courtyard may be fine for smokers but does not invite for a stay. The price is far too high for the service provided.

The position, the furniture, the kitchen (we’ve made our own breakfast every morning, you have all the tools necessary), the rituals little shower gel provided by the guesthouse, the cleaning.
The stairs are small and Little slippy… but if you are careful It will be ok (the guesthouse seems to have been puting something Like non-slippy substance on them but must be done again). The sewerage is not smelling that bad that It is saying in the comments, you feel it just a little when are rainy days otherwise It’s no smells.

Location was superb, the beds were amazingly comfortable and the property is perfect for two couples. Loo under the stairs on the ground floor is a great facility. Bath in the first floor bathroom is stunning and the water pressure in both bathrooms is fantastic with lashings of hot water. We really enjoyed relaxing indoors with Belgian beer, wine and nibbles after a hard day’s sightseeing. Third time in Bruges and managed to find a whole host of new things to experience. Second visit to the City we discovered the Christophe Bistro and were thrilled to discover it was just around the corner! Well worth a visit…
Not a problem for us but there is no microwave or freezer. The inner courtyard is tiny and not at all somewhere you would want to sit but nice to be able to open the back door and let some air in. As mentioned previously the stairs are incredibly steep so we only went up and down once a day! They creak too so you all need to retire at the same time if any of you are light sleepers..

we love the Interior - cosy and well design
it felt like home
good location next to shops ( pharmacy - bakery - butcher - fruit and veg shop ) and lovely park perfect for children with massive playground
STAIRS are so dangerous - very steep BE AWARE of you have young children
a few of the property area need update - shower upstairs had mould and taps in kitchen is on broken tiles - this would not refrain us from staying again

Perfectly located, very charming and cosy house. Very central and near the Bruges’ incredible sights, in the midst of the old town. The bedrooms are very spacious and each have a bathroom. The lounge area and kitchen are very pleasant. Complimentary coffee, and tea in abundance made us feel welcome. also there is salt and olive oil which made it easy to do some light cooking.
The large roundtables in each room are not very nice looking and could be replaced with nicer furniture. some broken tiles around the sink in the kitchen could be repaired. I think the location had not been used in a while and kitchen and bathroom smelled of sewer as a result. It subsided after 24 hours. Perhaps a good idea to do some pipe cleaning/run water through the pipes for the next guests. Stairwells are steep and narrow, and the top one could do with a bit of protection against falls. More kitchenware and cookware would be welcome.

Nice building and the kitchen had good facilities. Plenty of space. Not far to walk to any sights etc. Owners answered promptly and fairly. Good value property. soft quality bedding. Plenty of supplies such as coffee, toiletries and towels provided.
Unfortunately there is a minor drainage problem. The owner made suggestions of things to help but didn’t make any difference. I understand the drainage systems are old and smells can be common in such cities but we have stayed in apartments all over Bruges at the same time of year and never encountered this problem so it’s a shame the owner hasn’t found a solution. Property had been cleaned but a build up of dust on vents, radiators, light covers were not so desirable. Felt like the service used creates a bit of anonymity which perhaps doesn’t make the best service for visitors.

This house is a beauty. Decorated with style and taste, in the centre at walking distance from the grand place. Wifi is perfect and the beds are super. There is enough space to chill with 4 people and still enjoy privacy.
If you want to cook on a daily basis, you will miss some items.

Great location and house was charming even though there were some rather serious problems
We were told before arriving that the smell reported in previous reviews had been addressed. This was not the case and was pretty bad throughout the house. The agent told us - afterwards - that there are sewage problems across the city. This should not be hidden from guests. There were a few dirty plates and dirty cutlery. At this time this is unacceptable and we felt uncomfortable. The television was stuffed into a cupboard and was clearly not functioning. The agent acted surprised and said this was a new problem. No one came to fix it during our stay. We were told we would receive compensation for these inconveniences. Almost one month later there are no communications from the agency. Overall, despite this being a charming property, the problems very much overshadowed our stay. Not least because there was a clear attempt to be dishonest (tv and sewage smell). With the expensive costs, I could not recommend this property to others.

We loved the property. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. Coffee pods were appreciated! It was easy to cook breakfast. Shops close by to purchase food and wine.
The only problem we had was that the downstairs smelled very bad. The smell came up all around the bathtub too. I don’t know if it was a sewage problem or what. There was undergraound construction down the street. Opening the windows when we were there helped, but it was foul.
Also, we could not find bin liners. We did our best to recycle in given bins, but no designation as to what went where. Maybe some labeling could help??
