Well maintained colonial hotel with very good restaurant

Staff were excellent. An older building but the colonial feel has been beautifully maintained. Very good food in the restaurant.

Some noise at night due to a party (it was Saturday) and the crickets!

1st and only time will visit.

Friendly staff

Entering the room had a bad musty smell. Mold in bath tub, ants running on all surfaces, old, uneven floor, creaky bed, toilet took at least 3 tries to flush.

Would hesitate to recommend Cara.

Housekeeping staff (especially Carol and Kim) was very friendly and always willing to help and please. Thanks. Also, Mark from Security was always cheerful, pleasant and willingly offered his assistance when needed. Thanks.

Tap water quality was poor; there was an ever persistent unpleasant smell of impurity whenever the faucet was turned on. Credit card on file was charged more than I was quoted and agreed to at the time of booking. Lame excuse from the Cara checkout person was that there was an interim rate increase since my booking. I was never notified of such, therefore never agreed to any rate change. I abhor unprincipled business practices!

I would definitely stay here again, charming place

Charming wood building, and beautiful courtyard to sit hangout. Very close to everything

I liked everything. They could have lively music at the restaurant gor guest on the weekends

The ambience is lovely - old colonial wooden house with relaxed vibes.

Since covid the management have taken away the chairs outside each room. That was a nice feature and should be reinstated. We also used to appreciate the complimentary biscuits and snacks that were left in the room pre covid - they have gone too.

Definitely do not go for the family rooms

Clean hotel and really friendly staff and management

The family rooms are a rip off - they're just double rooms with an extra bed squeezed in.

Perfect Boutique/Heritage Hotel in perfect location

Perfect Boutique / Heritage Hotel. I would recommend CARA Lodge with 100%. Location is perfect; I could walk to all sights from the hotel. In case you need a taxi its easy to order at the reception. You just need taxi in case you need to go airport or nighttime (highly recommended not to walk in Georgetown by night). I loves this place an dwill be back in this Hotel in case I visit Georgetown again. Restaurant in Hotel offers great trinidad food, I loved the curry (and the beer :-) )

Staff a bit slow (in Restaurant and in Reception). Saying that they are superfriendly.

WE WILL NOT BE STAYING AT THIS ACCOMMODATION AGAIN AND URGE OTHERS NOT TO STAY HERE. POOR DISAPPOINTING SERVICE.

location of property, food was ok, only basic facilities were provided…. no full length wall/wardrobe mirrors were provided in the room.

Staff member at reception welcome was very poor, bad customer service. we were left waiting for 20 minutes for room check in. Hotel does not cater for elderly guests, not enough comfortable chairs in room, furniture in room was not acceptable for elderly guests this included a chair with wheels, i sat on this chair and subsequently fell off hurting my back. I may be seeking compensations claim for this accident. We requested room service due to mobility issues, to avoid going up and down stairs for meals, we were told that they didn’t have enough staff to provide this service, the establishment basically made a fuss about providing room service, which was eventually provided under duress. On the day of check out we were laughed at by staff members because we enquired about sterling equivalent of dollars we were quoted. We would like 2 nights refunded back due to this unacceptable service.

It is a nice building with a charming courtyard (although it has seen better time)

Needs a renovation it is rundown. Rooms are old, spring mattress old and not comfortable. Pricey for what it is

A pleasant and relaxed time.,

Cara Lodge has a real Guyanese feel to it. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there.

The hot water was never hot.
