Sehr freundliches Personal im netten Ambiente eines alten Stadthauses

Eine sympatische B&B-Pension in einem alten Stadthaus mitten in der Altstadt mit Blick auf den Hafen im Hintergrund. Gutes Marketing und Reiseführertexte führen zu einer Überschätzung und Übertreibung von Preis UND Leistung: Das gebuchte Deluxe-Zimmer 103 im 1. OG (nur über Treppe erreichbar) ist mit dunklem Holz und afrikanischen Deko-Teilen durchaus geschmackvoll ausgestattet. Aber ... siehe unten. Das Frühstück unten im Restaurant ist reichhaltig und qualitativ sehr gut. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen und abends schnell ausgebucht. Am ersten Abend wurde uns - ohne Ankündigung - sogar ein Tisch reserviert. Sehr schönes Ambiente mit Live-Musik (meist Morna). Das Servicepersonal und auch der Geschäftsführer sind sehr freundlich und offen für Fragen und Reklamationen. Der beanstandete alte Memory-Topper wurde direkt ausgetauscht. Der Deckenventilator lief einwandfrei und geräuschlos.

Deluxe Zimmer mit Kingsize-Bett (103) ist tatsächlich kein DELUXE! Wie die Fotos zeigen. Dieser Begriff scheint nicht geschützt und sollte von Booking hinterfragt werden. Als normales B&B-Zimmer allerdings sehr okay. Der Preis dafür ist zu hoch, auch wenn uns der Geschäftsführer (weil AC nicht funktionierte) 10% Rabatt erstattete. Die Wasserflecken an der Zimmerdecke haben den Geschäftsführer überrascht, weil offensichtlich nicht bekannt. Das am Vortag in der Rezeption bestellte Taxi (für 06:00 Uhr zur Fähre nach Porto Novo) ist nicht erschienen.

The location of this property is excellent. The staff was friendly, and they tried to arrange a vegan breakfast.

The bathroom was small and the shower door was broken. Tried to close that plastic dood, but probably I made a noise with that, neighbor from the next room was banging on the wall. Also, the door between the bedroom and the bathroom stuck was not moving. Maybe I just was 'lucky' to get such room as I arrived after 8PM.

Great staff, took care of rent-a-car for us, great location in an historic building. The food and pontch downstairs was great, with a very strong breakfast. Ask for Vany's papaya jam, you won't regret it.

gave us an upgrade with a fancy shower in en-suite. arrived early off a ferry and they let us have breakfast on arrival as would be leaving v early next morning. nice cafe down stairs. good night sleep despite being on front street. would recommend using the pool opposite on Pont D agua hotel for 1000 cv a day and have a drink in the floating bar on the marina.

Great, central place to stay in Mindelo

I only stayed at Casa Cafe Mindelo for one night, but it was the perfect place to stay. Super central. Only 15 minutes drive to the airport, og 10 minutes walk to the ferry over to Santo Antao. Everything in town is within (a short) walking distance, and the Praia da Laginha beach is about 15 minutes walk away. My room and bathroom wasnt too big, but big enough. There was a small fridge in the room as well. I ate breakfast and dinner at Cafe Mindelo and the food was great. They have live music in the evenings between 8 and 10 PM. I went up a little before 10 PM but couldnt really hear much noise in my room. Friendly staff, and all in all a great place to stay on a visit to Mindelo!

Well-Located Hotel Within Walking Distance From Ferry Terminal

Casa Cafe Mindelo is located in the heart of Mindelo within walking distance (with a small bag) from the ferry terminal. The rooms in the hotel show some wear from frequent guest turnover, but are otherwise fine for a short stay. The restaurant is fine for breakfast, but I'd dine elsewhere for dinner. Under booking's old rating system, I would rate this hotel a 7.5/10.

The location is great, right in the city center. There’s a restaurant right below the hotel which is where you have breakfast and is very convenient for other meals.

Nice hotel in the center of Mindelo

- Nice and simple room in the heart of Mindelo, close to the city center, the market and the harbour - Excellent breakfast ! - Perfect opportunity to enjoy the Casa Cafe restaurant with live music nearly everyday

Additional lights would be useful in the room but this is a detail...

The perfect spot in Mindelo

The room is clean and comfortable. There is a terrace in the second floor which is really pleasant. The restaurant downstairs is great. They have really good food. The included breakfast has plenty of options and it is delicious. We had dinner one night and it was also delicious. There was also live music from 8 to 10pm Staff is kind and friendly It is a 10 min walk to the ferry terminal

Great host, very welcoming and friendly. Nice chat. Location couldn't be better. All the nice places right around the corner. The host even helped us arrange a tour on Sao Antao.

We had to leave early for a ferry and we've been promised a breakfast to takeaway, but stuff forgot to prepare it. It was a bit disappointing.
