Not at all like in pictures, scary and unsafe on several levels

The whole place looked so different to what we saw in the official photos, that we started wondering whether they had used AI to enhance their images or perhaps there had been a radical change in management and someone had just ran the whole place down. There was no hotel personal on hand and the place itself was quite unsafe: the door actually did not lock at all. Anyone could make it all the way to your room door. That is where the keybox where you got your key. There were loose electricals, crumbling walls and a tap so close to the sink it was quite difficult to actually wash your hands. The worst part was the complete lack of security. There were two attempts by unknown person trying to break into our room while we were in it, so we decided to escape without actually spending the night. Got a taxi to a real hotel, so we ended up paying for two rooms instead of one.

Disappointing

Rooms were fine.

No staff to check us in. Pub was closed so couldn’t get a meal or a drink yet we’re were not told of this, bedding didn’t look like it had been changed.

Posizione strategica per Aeroporto Stansted. Camera pulita e self check-in molto semplice. Qualità prezzo ottimo.

Room not fit fir purpose

Room size of a cupboard Set in the eaves (roof) with very low ceiling & damp. Basically not fit for purpose. We didn't stop the night. Had to make alternative arrangement. I would suggest proprietor review her facilities & B & B accommodation.

Cold couldn’t wait to leave would have left sooner if I’d had done where to go

The room was extremely cold no curtains at the windows only wooden shutters do they had to remain closed at all times, it was dirty the floors very very uneven

Mis-sold!

On arrival the room was very,very cold. A message to the owners prompted the arrival of the owner with electric heaters. Apparently the central heating had a problem and was being investigated.

I booked the hotel because it had a bar and a restaurant. I booked less than a week before we travelled. NO BAR AND NO RESTAURANT. Speaking to local residents it was apparent that these facilities were sporadic to say the least! I would not have booked if I’d known they weren’t available.

There was no hot water for the shower. Reading previous reviews it seems that this is not uncommon.

It was perfect for our needs. A shower and a bed for a short overnight stay.

It was close to the airport so not expensive for the taxi. The shower was great once we worked out how to get the hot water. Perhaps instructions in the bathroom on how to use the shower taps would be useful.

Very warm and noisy (traffic) really difficult to get a good nights sleep.

The Thai restaurant downstairs was excellent.

No cleaning of the room, no replenishing of the milk or tea or toilet rolls. No AC or fan. The waste basket was not emptied. Bed linen was stained. No breakfast facility.

They cancelled our booking last minute put us up in tents, then reneged on refund AVOID AVOID AVOID

Nothing, they cancelled our booking hours before we flew into Standard after a long flight late at night, put us up in tents, offered to refund us but then reneged for an absolutely dubious reason. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!

Don't stay here if you want a good night sleep

Good location from Stansted Airport

We arrived at the Green Man Boutique Hotel and initially all looked OK, however, we were soon to be disappointed. The hot water was not working and we only managed to get a trickle of water out of the taps, so unable to fill the kettle for a hot drink and unable to wash. I contacted the management team and luckily there was a room available so we moved. The new room had hot water so we could get showered, however there was a lot of black mould in the room and it wasn't very clean. The bed was so uncomfortable and the pillows like a rock. We were woken at 3am with the fire alarm in our room going off, there was no fire or smoke as we had to check out the building ourseleves as no management team on site. We could not get back to sleep and did not get a comfortable or good night sleep when we really needed it as had a long day of travelling ahead of us. Really disappointed and would like a refund as the accommodation did not meet expectations.

Nice room. No contact with staff, easy staff free check in which was perfect for us as we arrived very late.

Nothing to do with the hotel, just a warning for anyone using the bus service outside the hotel, the timetable seems a bit hit and miss.

Awful, would never stay there again

The room was freezing when we arrived a 3pm only to find no heating or hot water. We spoke to the towel lady who happened to be at the property, she confirmed the heating did not come on until 4pm - she gave us a fan heater to use. The room was dingy, cold and grim. We was on a time limit and didn't have the time to wait for the hot water to be fixed as we didn't know how long it was going to take. So we rushed and found another room at the Premier Inn for around the same price (It was lovely).

Good location close to Stansted. Very large rooms and comfortable beds. Superb Thai restaurant next door.

Freezing cold

Close to Stansted

The room held only 14 degrees Celsius in winter, with the radiator on max heat. We got only one thin comforter each so we had to wear 4 layers of clothes under them. We paid for a two bed room but got one bed and one small fold out cot. There were nobody around to help us out. Quite far from the bus stop and the taxi to the airport was very expensive. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom either. Don’t recommend this place.

I needed a hotel close to the Airport. Green Man Boutique Hotel was an excellent choice.
