The breakfast was good. The cleaning lady was also very nice.
If you book for 2 nights including breakfast you should get 2times breakfast! This was not provided even when we asked. The bathroom what’s also not really clean. There is also no restaurant at the hostel.

Nice rooms for good price. The stuff is very friendly and helpful 👌🏽💚

Wifi was strong. Bed was comfortable. Balcony is relaxing.
Definitely need a good clean, everywhere - bathrooms, kitchen and the dorm rooms need more air flow. Location is far from most things.

Ritzy, safe Nyali (suburb of Mombasa) neighborhood. Two weeks later, when I finally was in the fancy room, it was large, well lit and had a balcony with chair and desk. Upstairs bathroom has a working shower.
Need to take a tuk tuk for any place you want to go. Paid $550 US for a month in fancy room. I was told I would get money back but no refund when I had dorm to myself for the first two weeks. Other people had discounts for various reasons. Guess I was the one chosen to support the orphans who live in a different building. No patter of tiny feet.

the staff and closeness to the beach

I had a dorm room all to myself which was nice. There were many other interesting travellers to meet.
Very electrically challenged with almost no plug ins. Windows could not be closed and mosquito netting was not adequate so had to use DEET and a mosquito head net to sleep.
The location is very out of the way and I moved the next night to downtown Mombassa where I found a cheap hotel as there are no hostels on the island.

Nice colonial building, specious double room with a nice tarace. Simple breakfast was included. Staff was very nice, there is living room area where you can meet other backpakers and have a chat.
Part of the profit goes to charity, they support local schools.
Kitchen was very dirty :( The place has a great potential - keep it clean! :)

The host Tom was accomodating and helpful:). The wifi great. The place is clean and organized. Kitchen is well stocked. Shops are close. Would definitely visit again.
Location from the beach is a bit far.

okay for the price…
good pressure shower, kitchen available, the common area, the cute german guy I met.
not for me because it was too hot at night. mosquito nets are useless since they’re broken and not long enough

It is clean and the staff is very nice.
They changed my price when I got there because they told me that the price in Booking was wrong. Thus, what I had to do was negotiate the price because it was too late to find another place to stay.
