Really clean, everything we could have needed, thank you. We arrived a little early, the staff were very accommodating, we were lucky to get the key as our cottage was ready for us 😃

Ideal location for exploring the beacons and easy reach for Cardiff for a day trip
Was perfect amount of space for two adult and 22 month old. Very clean and comfortably warm and well presented.
It’s so minor not worth mentioning but our sofa latch to hold the back up was loose which made difficult to relax back on the sofa.

Great value and the location was great for exploring beautiful Brecon. Had a lovely weekend there with my sister. Handy breakfast cereals, loaf of bread, jam orange juice etc were supplied for breakfast which was a bonus. The pub next door was welcoming.
No complaints. Would stay again.

Gareth was a very welcoming and hospitable host. We had everything we needed, and the dogs were also made very welcome. There was bread, milk, jams, butter, juice and cereals all laid on, and we loved that we could park next to the accommodation. There was outside seating available, and we were literally 50m from the canal and an open space with play park. Our son was being ordained in the cathedral this weekend, and this accommodation was ideal, as it was within walking distance of pretty much everything! We also loved the atmosphere coming from the Gremlin Hotel. It made us feel that we were on holiday abroad. Shops and pubs were within easy walking distance. Perfect, and would definitely come again. Thanks so much Gareth!
It was warm, but Gareth provided fans. So nothing really.

Location was good as near the town and within walking distance of our friends.
Maybe a few more kitchen utensils as we did lots of cooking ourselves.

The breakfast was an added bonus and the access to free parking was really good. The heating was very good and we could bring our dog with us which was great.
The bed was quite lumpy so we did not sleep very well. The bath seal needs replacing as mould is clearly present and there are a few areas that need addressing e.g light switch in downstairs toilet is dirty and the sofa was not the most comfortable.

Location, parking ( not always easy in Brecon!), spotlessly clean, excellent basic facilities- all I needed - and a friendly welcome
Lighting could be improved- not ideal for reading.
Noise from the pub’s outdoor smoking area late at night - it’s right next door. Drunken laughter and foul language on the Saturday night - luckily it stopped at 23:00 just as I was about to go down and complain….

This property was in Brecon.
On arrival this property was found to be dirty and unhygienic with no signs that any cleaning had been carried out prior to our arrival or indeed anytime recently, it is surprising that this property could be offered in this condition particularly in regards to recent events regarding COVID-19 and the need for rental properties to be cleaned between rentals.
This property was nothing like the reviews that prompted us to book this accommodation, the general air of the property was a lack of cleanliness and care. Dirty and unhygienic black handprints covered the door handle area, strands of human hair on the sofa cushion showed that the property had not been cleaned recently.
Two dirt encrusted remote controls, one held together with insulation tape, sat on a TV unit whose surface was worn and dirty, alongside this sat a router covered in dust.
The bathroom had the same dirty paintwork and the bath/shower seal was mouldy, the light pull cord, once white as could be seen by the top, now the years of use and accumulated dirt left it dark brown and sticky with a knot where it had been repaired.
We have used Booking.com previously without any issues, but due to the condition of this property, we could not bring ourselves to accept living with the dirt and general disrepair.
After inspecting the property we informed the owner of our concerns, showed him the worse areas and informed him that we would not be staying due to the unhygienic conditions, we asked for a refund and were told that we would have to contact Booking.com.
We stayed that night at the nearby Hotel and managed to then find an available property to stay, again via Booking.com, for the remaining days of our holiday.
