Convenient location, good value
From the photos, I thought it was a two bedroom place. But it was a small bungalow with one bedroom with a converted attic with beds that requires you to climb a pull-down ladder. We made it work but not ideal.

Host was immediately responsive and helpful! Location was perfect for a great early jump to Mt Rainier. Washer/dryer on site (although you had to pay for it).
The upstairs room was unusual, but fine for our teen. Only one bathroom. Washer dryer fee.

The location was exactly what we needed for our overnight. It was quiet and easily accessible to all things Ashford
Unable to locate lock box- was not on house or shed- once located code supplied was not correct. Had no cell phone (AT&T) reception. Had to ask neighbor to call. Asked to delay out check out time to 12- would not allow as stated cleaners come at 11 - however check in time is not until 4
Listing states 2 bedrooms- 2nd bedroom (accessed with a stair ladder) on the 2nd story. Not best option for people with any movement restaurants or small children. Laundry on site is coin operated- bring $$.

Great location, quiet neighborhood. The weather was perfect.
Safety concern with no guard rails around the opening of the stairs (upstairs). No night light, potential for someone (adult or child) to fall.

Pretty much the closest you can get to the most popular paradise section of mount Rainer, around 10 minutes to the gate. Absolutely loved the hot tub after hiking, it actually got nice and HOT and had massage jets! The host is very friendly and helpful, he called me to make sure we had the code to get in and had everything we needed. I left $270 in cash by accident at the house and he returned the money by venmo as soon as he got my message! The attic bedroom was actually quite spacious, had a large TV and comfortable beds. He has wood to purchase to make a fire in the fire pit in the yard and also washer and dryers that are coin operated. traveled with my 8,10,12 year old kids, husband and a friend we had adequate space. You do have to climb up a ladder, but it was fine for my kids. There was also a menu for a near by bar/restaurant called the trail head, it was around 5 minutes away. Couldn’t have kids, but we ordered out, food was great. My husband went back to place pool and have some beers, would be nice after an adventurous day for those over 21. Overall would highly recommend and will definitely be back if we ever score permits for the wonderland trail!

Thought it was very nice. The hot tub was awesome after a day on the mountain.
The only negative was the bed If the bed was upgraded I would have scored the place a 10

We arrived early and the house keeper was very nice. She let us have our lunch in the yard while she was cleaning the house. She showed us how to use the laundry. The property was in a very quiet area with a very big yard. Everything in the kitchen works fine and we enjoyed the stay.
The ladder to the attic was a little steep, but we were fine with that.

Key's in lock-box at gate to property with combo provided by host. When I booked lodging I indicated 2 adults; but upon realizing my error I contacted host to clarify that 4 adults would be staying. Host indicated no problem and that he would contact his people to make sure home was ready for 4 adults. Location was the reason for renting this property as it is only 5 miles from SW entry to Mt. Rainier NP.
Property was not as advertised on listing with Booking. Listing identified 2 bedrooms, with two double beds and additional twin & bunk-beds, and a sleeper sofa. One bedroom on main floor was acceptable with double bed. 2nd bedroom is only accessible via a attic pull down ladder. 2nd bedroom has 2 trundle beds and 2 twin beds. NOT a double bed. Sofa is a 3seater with 2 reclining ends. NOT a sleeper sofa. The attic access and design IMHO is very unsafe. There's basically a hole in the floor that is the attic ladder access with no safety railing at top attic space and no alternate emergency exit available for safe egress. The home was not to my cleanliness standard. 2nd floor trundle bedding smelled of urine, cracker crumbs on seats of sofa, coffee maker still had coffee from prior rental and shower had hairs on walls from prior rental and paint is pulling away from top of shower wall near shower head. Area around exterior hot tub has several tripping hazards. Mason blocks stacked are used to support entry steps to hot tub. Not enough exterior lighting for safely walking around the home to access main deck, hot tub and exterior (pay as you use) laundry. I contacted host prior to publishing my review to address the anomalies regarding his listing and request refund of cleaning fee as cleanliness of home was substandard. Host stated that Booking is not his usual source for listing rental of property and that he thought the listing description as well as location of second bedroom was identified as an attic access. He argued the cleanliness issue. Lastly, typically on Booking.com there's a week or up to a day prior to rental date to cancel refundable bookings. This listing fully charges approximately 6 weeks out when booking the refundable rate. So read the small print regarding this contract for rental.

Great location right outside Mt Rainier NP. Large yard and property. The spa was nice but it takes at least 4 hours to get up to temperature. The space was small downstairs with one bedroom and bathroom. The loft upstairs was nice and large, however it was up a steep ladder so would be hard for small kids to get up there or down safely.

the house was not well ventilated. it got very hot at night, and too many not to turn off light source right by the bed. the bed wasn’t very comfy, there was mold in the attic space which was defined as a 2nd bedroom.

This whole place is amazing it's super private surrounded by a large fence and the trees above and around grab at your soul. It Is tucked in below the mountain right below the foothills. The house is equipped with almost everything you need. Inspiring art all over the walls to connect you back with nature and helps you to remember who you are.. The hot tub is very clean and cozy! The inside has tons of games and books including one from the best author ever Mr. Whitman. Lots of extra linens and towels and yummy coffee beans to grind and brew 😋and the waffles and waffle maker was a hit in the morning! The luxury of the couches where also cool! This place is super clean and I would absolutely recommend!! Great for the price! Also the host was prompt and super chill! Real cool dude!

Adorable cabin, well equipped and furnished. Comfy sofa!
lack of reading lamps or wall sconces in living area and bedroom. Ceiling light fixtures only.
2nd bedroom accessibility unsafe…it is a pull down attic type ladder. My guest slept on sofa rather than sleep upstairs.
Steps to porch could be improved and a hand rail would be great.
An awning over front door entrance would also be great for some protection from weather. Overall we did fine, but we’re happy it was only a 1-night stay.

This bunkhouse was the last stop on our way back to the Portland airport before our flight back to the midwest. The bedroom on the lower level had a comfy bed. House was clean, and hot tub was clean outside. The place is setup for a nice small gathering of up to 6 to 8 people with a fire ring and chairs. It also has all the towels we needed for the hot tub and our showers. Our host was very responsive when I had trouble with the code to get in. He answered my questions quickly, and the property was exactly as described in the listing. This rental was a good value at the price we paid and for the area and time of year we were in. We all enjoyed the hot tub for a bit, and the kids thought the upstairs ladder access was fun. A/C window units upstairs and downstairs worked well during mid-July.
Twin beds upstairs, adults could feel the springs when you laid on the mattresses, and the upstairs/ladder access was fun but also noisy for the middle of the night trips to the bathroom and early risers.

Bunk room (for 4) was nice.
Pretty run down and cluttered. We had planned to cook but decided against it.
3.0 / 5.0
There was a functioning grill to use.
The loft was an attic style pull down ladder and gave me anxiety with my 3 young children. The bedding And towels didn’t feel particularly clean. Only bedding shams for pillows, not sheet pillow cases.

We loved our short stay at the Blackberry Bunkhouse! The place was very clean when we arrived, me and my husband came here for our one night get away but the place is way larger than we expected and we can’t wait to bring our family back in the sumner! The fire pit was so romantic after being in the hot tub warming up after our snowy hikes on the mountain only a short drive from the national park this place is a must stay!!! Had all the dishes you would need to make almost anything, pankcake mix and coffee beans! The owner was very accommodating and answered any questions we had very promptly!!! Can’t express enough how much fun we had and how cozy this was! Will be returning come summer time, maybe even spring!

I am so in love with this place. The owner was so easy to communicate with. He made sure that we were accommodated and gave us extra blankets and towels. It was such a great experience. I will definitely stay here again! Check mark staying in a tiny house. I loved the loft and upstairs. It was so cool! I always see it in the movies with a hanging string to pull out a ladder. Everything is so modern and the fireplace really heated up the whole place!!! Definitely a great place to stay with little kids. We had a baby and a 3, 4 and 6 year old and they loved going up and down the stairs and having their own 'level' of their own! Such a close distance to the main gate of Mount Rainier. Gas station close by and the neighbors and housekeepers were super friendly!
A coat rack downstairs and a thing to pull up the ladder from the top.
