About this house rental
Enjoy the clean air and natural beauty of the Catskills!
Whether its to get away from the city, spend some alone time, or enjoy nature and the Catskills, this place has something for you. Surrounded by nature preserves and greenbelt. The Fox Hollow trailhead, for hiking Panther Mountain, is within walking distance. Enjoy the soothing year round sound of the creek and beautiful plants and trees on the grounds.
The new back deck is a zen space surrounded by native plant gardens: perfect for morning breakfast, yoga, or just relaxing. Grill and outdoor dining on the front deck.
Private mountain getaway with mountain and tree views from every window. Open plan gourmet kitchen, dining and living as well as full bath and one queen bedroom downstairs. Upstairs is one large modern suite with a den area and a second queen bed as well as half bath.
NOTES: The house has strong WiFi and high speed data service that supports working from home, Zoom calls, multiple device streaming, etc.
Both upstairs and downstairs now have 4K quality TV's with Firesticks and various other digital services. Upstairs is 55" and downstairs is 40". We also have a large collection of DVD's and blu-rays.
One Sleepmaster Weekender (folding guest bed) available for a fifth person. It can be placed in living room or upstairs den.
Isaac's notes on the area:
The Fox Hollow Trailhead is just across from the creek at the foot of the property. You could climb down to it very quickly from the house or a few minute walk on the road. I'd probably recommend the latter :-)
There's the charming town of Phoenicia just a 5-10 minute drive away (think Twin Peaks): Phoenicia Diner and Sweet Sue's for breakfast, Brio's has good wood-fired pizza and a large dine in menu, It's a good place to take your family for a low key, comfortable meal and is very kid friendly. The Phoenician is a more upscale steakhouse.
Woodstock is maybe 20 minutes away and there are some great galleries and shops. The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild is one of my favorites. They have some art on display as well as some beautiful art and pottery for sale, all by local artists. Joshua's Cafe is a gourmet restaurant I really like. Probably the best restaurant in the whole area. It has a middle eastern influenced cuisine, mixed with standard New American type dishes. Oriole 9 is a fabulous place for breakfast/brunch. Has nice ambiance as well as some really high quality and good food.
For snow skiing, Hunter Mountain and Bellayre are maybe 15-20 minutes away. There's a man-made beach in Pine Hill, about 10 minutes from the house.
There's also the Copperhead Spa about 5 minutes from the house. Haven't been yet but am looking to. You can get day passes as well numerous other spa packages and treatments.

Had a wonderful long weekend stay here with my husband, two little kids and their grandma. The house was perfectly nestled back in the woods and it was clean and welcoming when we arrived. The sound of the creek is so peaceful, love how close the fox hollow trailhead is… first real hike for my 3 year old and it was perfect. Great location close to Phoenicia and a 30 min drive from Woodstock or Kaaterskills and many other favorites :) Isaac was very responsive to any messages before and during our stay! Didn’t get the chance to make a fire in the fire pit but we hope to come back in the spring!

We headed here for a family ski trip get-a-way. We had a few hick-ups other first two nights but Isaac the owner was super responsive to our emails. The house is in a great location.

We had a great time! The property is very secluded and quiet and it has everything you need to relax and spend quality time with friends. I’d love to stay here again.

We came for a boarding trip to Belleayre and this house fit all of our needs. It’s about 15-20 minutes from Belleayre and had all the basic amenities needed for a home away from home (good Wi-Fi, washer/dryer, appliances, TV). We would definitely stay again!

Very clean, and the kitchen appliances were appreciated since my girlfriend and I love to cook. Four people could definitely sleep here comfortably. The TV downstairs is a flatscreen now, so the VHS-video collection is definitely worth watching. Wi-Fi was good.
Overall, it felt like a very peaceful getaway from the city. The host was very responsive and we would stay here again!

Had a great stay at Isaac’s place. Great location, tucked away in the mountains but close enough to the town of Phoenicia. The place itself is really nice, well appointed with everything you might need. Would definitely stay here again.

Our weekend was lovely. The house was well-equipped and very comfortable, and being able to hear the creek while sleeping was a bonus. Close to hiking and the town of Phoenicia (not much there, but easy to get amenities). We would definitely stay again!

The home is cozy and spacious. Every detail was as expected. The rooms are large and tastefully furnished. The property is wooded and quiet. The kitchen appliances were wonderful. We cooked at least 3/4 of our meals and had everything we needed to prepare our food.

If you’re looking for a place to stay close to some amazing hikes this house is wonderful. The upstairs is very cool, wonderful to sleep in, and the downstairs is cozy and a great place to watch a movie. Great fire pit, would definitely stay again.

Quiet and unique house in the quiet woods near a stream. We were happy to stay and sorry to leave.

We stayed here a week and didn't want to leave. It was everything we could hope for and more. The property is at the top of the mountain, far away from other properties that you feel completely isolated. The fairly large stream running in front of the house is the most noise you will hear (so peaceful.) For the movie buff, there are literally 100's of movies to choose from ; arty to commercial. Any and all questions are just a text or phone call away. We hope to come back again in the near future.

My husband, son and I had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was beautifully decorated and spacious yet cozy! Owner Isaac was very accessible and responsive. Gorgeous location, and with the cabin's great windows and views we could enjoy the mountains from inside as well as outside! Thanks for a fantastic stay!

The place is nice and 10 minutes away from Belleayre. The owners was easy to communicate with and quickly responded to questions. It has everything you need, and was easy to find. WiFi worked great and the place was clean. It exceeded our expectation considering what some of the places look like in the area. We needed a pet friendly place close to Belleayre and it worked out great. My 3 kids enjoyed sledding on the property and every night we found a VCR Tape to watch, cooked and had a fire going. I would stay here again, it’s the perfect place to stay for a family ski trip.

We so enjoyed a few days in this dog-friendly home. Such a lovely setting. I walked up the Fox Hollow trail every morning, so peaceful. The house has two floors, so we had plenty of room for privacy. A great kitchen, views. Thanks for accommodating us on short notice.

My family of four adults had a great stay at Isaac's - 3 nights four days over the July 4th weekend. The place is not big but as a family it was fine. It is off the main road so it is very quiet. The deck was great, we had two great meals there drinking wine and talking - and yes steak tastes so much better when grilled outside. The main living room is comfortable (I slept there one night) and the open kitchen with an island is good for hanging around. The tv is not exactly flat screen but we got to watch two old movies from Isaac's great collection of VHSs and DVDs. The upstairs is very nice - sort of mid-century meets country; but we ended up spending most our time downstairs playing monopoly and scrabble. We brought our own bluetooth Bose mini-speaker but Isaac already has one so you don't need one for music. From the house we visited the Kaaterskill Falls (a must) and Woodstock and ate at the Phoenicia Diner and the Peekamoose Restaurant both restaurants are highly recommended.

Just came back from 4 days at Isaac's house. Great house, in the middle of the mountains. Beautiful views of snowed slopes. Everything works well and the movie collection is a great plus!! We used it as a base for skiing and the drive to Belleayre was very easy and short. Highly recommend it. Isaac is extremely responsive.

Had a fantastic weekend on Panther Mountain. Isaac's home is comfortable and inviting and tucked away yet within walking distance of hiking trails. The upstairs loft with skylights is a special bonus.

Comfortable house with a light filled, loft-like upstairs suite - you really do wake up to a vertical horizon of trees reaching to the sky. Feels perfectly secluded from the rest of the world.

We spent the Labor Day holiday weekend there with another couple and couldn't have been happier. The house is located on a secluded private road away from any major roads. Every window had a view of trees and we felt completely alone. We spent our time sitting on the deck and then hanging around the fire pit at night. The house is in walking distance from the fox hollow trail and close driving distance to Phoenicia and other Catskill Mountain trails. The kitchen was in need of a little more pots and pans, but the house overall was very comfy and roomy for two couples. The owner was very responsive and also very helpful. Enjoy it!

We spent four nights here and really loved it. Coming from New York City, we were looking to spend quiet time in the country. Rooms are large...even larger than we expected from the photos. Everything we could possibly have wanted was provided, and more. We relaxed, barbecued, drove into Phoenicia and watched videos on the incredibly comfortable sofa. A perfect retreat in a lovely setting.
