The location and the view.
We booked this room due to it having air con. When we got there the air con did not work. The host tried to fix it but couldn't. Unfortunately nothing was offered in way of solving this. Just a shrug of the shoulders. I suggested a fan and all that was provided was a small fan that did nothing. There was no offer of a change of room - rooms were free, or to get it fixed. This made sleeping uncomfortable and we left early in the morning.

The room was comfortable and spacious with all the basics one could require. There was also plenty of comfortable outdoor seating to enjoy the incredible views of the island and surrounding Ocean. I would highly reccomend!

Although the location involved a long windy walk up narrow cobbled streets the views from the balcony were amazing. The view was the best part of our stay.
The studio 9 were we stayed was satisfactory but unfortunately we had suffered an ant invasion in our room which luckily Nick was on hand to bring a chemical spray to kill them. But then we couldn’t move back into room as I was with my daughter and the ants had crawled from the windows to the beds to die! Luckily we had the other two beds in the kitchen to move to for remaining 2 nights stay. But beds were incredibly hard. Kitchen toaster worked but not continuously but we made do. Shower was tiny and was difficult to enjoy a shower, but again we made do. Overall if I was to sum up the accomodation it’s great for those on a budget who don’t care about hard beds and the possibility of insects creeping through the big cracks in the window frames.

Our host was very watchful with us, gave us an extended installment with info about the beaches, the town and restaurants, which were quite useful. He can support very interesting conversations, especially about history and he is a friendly person with a libertine style.
The view from the room on the top was quite impressive and this is the main reason for going there.

Not related to the accommodation, I'm adding this info in case it might help other in deciding upon their travel.
Skopelos has only 1! super market in the center and the restaurants are tourist traps (undercooked food for 2 of us on the most crowded restaurant in old port, water and bread are given without asking and then charged. Looked like they were rolling tourists fast - asking for the money very fast after giving the check, to free up the table).
But the beaches are superb, with pine trees near the water, so I was able to swim in the shade, which is a dream for me in the awful sunny setup. But to get there it will be very useful to rent a car if you didn't came with one. Depending on the city buses in the afternoon for the return from the beach is a nightmare (there are only 3 buses which should return the people that came all day and some of them were cancelled on some stations or bus was full - had an incident with a bouncer that was dispatching tickets because he didn.t want to let us in, even if some people went down from the crowded bus). So, overall, the worst experience I had on a Greek island in 7 different trips. Felt like everything was done against the tourists, which were mostly Italians, lol. Even the ferry had 1.5hours delay at departure to Volos.
If you don't have a car. climbing to the top of the hill, near the Venetian castle, a couple of times per day, can be frustrating, especially with the awful humidity in July.
The rooms haven't seen major maintenance since they were built, I guess 30+ years ago. The only improvement I can mention is related to the sheets and hard mattress, which were ok.
The host can be a bit too careful on the time you check out (happened twice, because we changed rooms. even knocked on the door before 11 to free up the room).
Price per quality is very high, but this could be explained because we went in the peak of the season. There was no extra from the house (no shower gel, no tea or coffee).
WI-FI was very bad. We could only use it better on the balcony.
There was only 1 toilet paper which ran out at the end, lol. Never seen this very low cost approach before.

Very close to town and restaurants and beach also within easy walking distance. Host was friendly and very helpful. Did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. View was excellent.
Power on the island was a bit problematic. Could not use oven and aircon together, but we managed fine.

Great view; Gianni's was very friendly
Studio furniture was tired and dated:: sheets and blanket were poor quality and old fashioned and could be replaced with better quality:: plenty of hot water but bathroom old and tired:: expected higher standard for the price paid:

The view is AMAZING. Well worth the stairs up to find it. the Host Yannis is supernice and you could ask him anything and he would know it.
never felt uncomfortable with leaving windows or door open since it’s so high up from the more busy streets.

Giannis couldn’t have been better, we were very late arriving so it was really nice to see a friendly face when we did eventually get there.
Nothing it was perfect

The location was amazing! Room was very clean and well-equipped. The balcony was the best part. John was also super sweet. Would recommend!
The wifi was not very strong but that wasn’t too bad.

The location and view are nice.
The mattresses and pillows were too hard and our room was quite humid as it's quite old. The entire place needs a renovation; but the worst of all was the owner, Yannis. Yannis made us feel very bad with his toxic attitude and his passive aggressive responses to our basic questions about the room and surroundings. In the 4 nights we spent there the room was not cleaned once and the garbage bin was full by the time we left. I wish we hadn't stayed there.

We stayed here for 6 nights and it was great. Check-In was uncomplicated, the host was waiting for us and showed us everything. The room looked just as pictured in the photos and was really clean. The view is truly amazing and it was nice to sit on the terrace. It takes about 5-10 minutes by foot to reach the port and the promenade and there are also parking spaces right in front of the studios.
The Host is really nice and we recommend to ask him for advice on where to go if you have never been on the island! :)
Appliances could be updated but everything was working so it was not a problem.

Giannis is a wonderful host
as it is on the hill there were many steps to get to the property from the harbour or need to catch a taxi

Giannis is a very friendly and welcoming guy. The hotel is well located above the historic town, easy to reach if you have a scooter, be prepared to use you muscles for the luggages.
The structure is very old, our room was very humid, the pavement was losing a yellowish plastic coating. The hot water worked just one evening out of 4. Totally needs to be renovated to meet standards. Also the “luggage deposit” is in a dusty filled old warehouse.

lovely host, beautiful view, lovely simple room.

The view, easy going stuff, cousy room and the atmosphere of the old town, where the studios are located.
The music until 3 in the morning in the restorant nearby. It was impossible to sleep without air conditioning, because we needed to close the windows in order to sleep.

The host is very nice, friendly and helpful...
The apartment is well organised and has everything needed...
The outside terrace with seaview is definitely a plus....
9.0 / 10.0
Beautiful sea views from the terrace! Terrace is under shade so can enjoy even in the midday heat. The hike up from the port is tiring but pretty and worth it for the views. Giannis, the owner, is very helpful and accommodating.
The hot water is temperamental (doesn’t work well when other guests around) and the bathroom stays damp so need to use the extractor fan and dry your towel outside.
