This is not the Ritz-Carlton and that is one of the many reasons it is so amazing! This the oldest hotel in the Netherlands, located in a quaint village with historic charm. We enjoyed the gorgeous view during breakfast and shopping in the little shops in Veere. Parking is close and you receive a significant discount if you pay through the hotel. Pets are welcome. Seeing the sailboats & yachts coming and going throughout the day was really pleasant.
The staff were wonderful. We highly recommend!

The location is super and we love Veere as a town. We used to come there with our sailing boat.
Breakfast was limited and the Dame Blanche which used to be a highlight was changed into something horrible

Nothing. I will never go back there
They are in the hospitality business only for the money. Bad service, for a very expensive room. Manager has no heart. We had explained that we would arrive very late, after midnight. We had received a code, but that appeared to be the code for booking.com (and not a code for a night lock). A phone call about the key did not reach us that day. I am sure that the owner or the manager saw us struggling in the middle of the night, trying to find out how to get in the hotel. In a phone call she explained that she knew we tried to get help from the “jacht club Veere”. She also knew that we called several times. In a call later that week, she honestly said: I saw you calling, but it was too late, So, I did not pick up the phone. She also said: you have to learn a lot. We decided to drive home, as we could not enter the hotel. Bad bad night. The manager also explained (launching) that Erica Terpstra (famous Dutch elite swimmer, politician and tv personality) once had the same experience in Veere, and she slept in the car. She may have violated privacy rules here, if Erica Terpstra was her guest.

the location was amazing
the original room offered was up two flights if impossibly dangerous stairs
we had a small dog with us and there was no way assess was appropriate
no help with luggage and parking 50 mtrs from the door.
there were very few staff finding someone to check in was a fifteen minute task and the staff were quite sharp and rude with the exception of the guy who appeared to take some control the food was appalling! oysters fresh and lovely best we both nearly lost teeth to a huge piece of shell left inside the oyster.
starters were inedible. my husband had a portobello I have seared tuna… the other Ingres on out plates were identical… quinoa, yellow carrot, colrabi, the tuna needed wasabi and had a spoon of hollandaise sauce and the mushroom had no texture is was sift and mushy.. neither dishes had any flavours!
for mains we ordered what we though a safe option..asperge with salmon
five wet and over cooked stems of asperge arrived Ona scalding plate swimming in water and on top of these were four or five slices of raw salmon.. so seasoning! we had expected thins slices of smoked salmon ! again we attempted all but left most. we had a cheese plate to share.. bland! the bill came and they decided to remove the starters and the mains … but that’s didn’t leave us with a good feeling. the night had been spoilt by the whole experience.
we went back to our room, the heating didn’t seem to totally work, needed bleeding or something … and looked forward to going home ! breakfast the next day was dismal… but our expectations by that’s stage weren’t very high

Fantastic location with sea and harbour views, and close to restaurants and shops. A wonderful family run hotel with exceptionally comfortable beds!

Breakfast was rich.
Location is very nice.
Shower is good.
1. The room didn't look at all like the photos. Knowing this is how the room looks like, I wouldn't have paid 200eur per night.
2. It was extremely noisy in the morning. People shutting doors and talking loud on their way to checkout means an early wakeup on a Sunday morning. Why?
3. We were asked to pay for two nights of parking ticket, despite the fact we were told by the place that due to our late arrival, we'll pay o ly for one might of parking. (And we also paid ourselves in the parking tickets machine. Still was charged for 2 nights. When told them about it we did get a 10 euros back but also some attitude. Asking how our stay was.could.have so much nicer.
4. Finally, when a staff member comes in to breakfast area to make food for the staff, takes some cheese with bare hands then put it back and take something else, it is flat out disgusting. Why not use either a fork, like everyone else - or gloves, if you're staff?
Would not recommend.
