This was our second year staying at this wonderful property. It has everything our family needs/wants and our littles have the best time! We’ll be back next summer!

The cabin was small, as advertised, very clean, pretty well equipped kitchen, easy and adequate electric heat (no wood stove or gas to worry about, but finding the heat control on main room heater its a hands 'n knees affair), nice hot water and very quiet neighborhood. We used cabin as base to fish East Outlet for a few days and were happy to get back to it at day's end. We lost internet access for one day but it came back on the day we left. Only real negative was the funky condition of porch, messy with a grungy, disintegrating plastic cover on the table. Otherwise, a good find for the price. Would rent it again.

Description left us disappointed.
We were under the impression that the cottage was right on the shore of the lake. The cottage is set up a hill and back behind another cottage. A bit of the lake was visible through some trees that still had leaves on them. There is direct access to the lake down a short path. The owners were very understanding, and said they would rethink the cabin's description. Despite, being a little disappointed, we enjoyed the quietness and peace of the cabin and it's surroundings.

Sandy Bay Cabin
Second year in a row we've stayed at this cozy cabin. Very comfortable, well equipped, and in a great location!

Great base for fabulous hikes
The cabin was small – more than two would be crowded – but the accommodations served us very well. What a terrific location.

We always love Moosehead Lake
Plenty of outdoor activities; swimming, hiking, mountains, views, exploring, and wilderness.

Sandy Bay Cabin
Have stayed there twice in the past few weeks and found the camp comfortable and convenient. The owner installed a new kitchen range between our visits,. which was great!

Sandy Bay Cabin
Clean and comfortable. Perfect for two or three, any more would be a bit cramped. Well furnished and equipped. Electric range needs an upgrade, as burners are floppy and not level. Oven looks sketchy as well, though we didn't use it. A couple of faucet washers in the kitchen and bath would prevent drips, particularly with the dry weather. Overall a fine little cabin. I'd definitely stay there again.

Great Escape
It had been 33 years since I vacationed in Sandy Bay. Back in 87 I camped there with my brother and father. It was awesome to spend time in the bay with my father and my nine year old daughter. My wife will be joining us the next time for sure. The cabin was quiet, clean, and just what we needed for a quick getaway... Harry was great to communicate with!

Great spot. Cleaning fee expensive. Tried to use o en but it was so dirty it smoked out the camp. Not impressed with that

Good value
This place was a good value for the price. The pictures do a great job of showcasing the property - it is what you see. It isn't directly on the lake, like another reviewer said - you do have to walk down a trail to get to the lake and there are 2 other cottages to your left and right. But the cottage itself was in a great location to Greenville and local activities. And it was nice being able to walk down to the lake and have access. The owner was extremely responsive, accommodating, and friendly. There was a lot of nice little touches and for a small space, they did a good job.
We have a few suggestions for improvement for this property:
-It needs a really good deep clean, like the kind you do twice a year in the spring and fall. It's an older place and it was overall just dusty and "well-used." Not sure when the last time the oven was cleaned.
-Perhaps look into replacing the stove. The front right burner wouldn't sit properly so the pot wouldn't sit properly. It's seen better days.
-Invest in more comfortable living room furniture / upgrade.
-Consider putting a light in the porch area. It's one of the best features to the cabin but couldn't sit out there after 6:30 (in Sept) to read because it got too dark.

Quiet location, central to activities
We enjoyed our time at Moosehead lake! The cabin was very clean and well stocked with all the essentials, even some extra food which was a surprise! Communication with the owner was excellent. We were able to visit lots of local ponds to kayak and relaxing in the lake in the afternoons was wonderful. A point of clarification is that the property is not on the water (as we had hoped), there is a short walk on a trail down to the water's edge. This is mostly my fault for assuming based on the pictures posted with the listing and that it says "on" Moosehead lake. We ended up kayaking on local ponds as the lake is a bit rough for leisurely paddling, but we were looking to explore the region so this worked nicely for us. You can't beat this property for an economical, comfortable, clean, peaceful stay if in the Moosehead lake region.

We've stayed here in years past, but there were some nice little improvements since we were here last time.

Lovely, peaceful, wooded surroundings; cabin well appointed with everything we needed; screened in back porch with view; bedroom with French doors for fresh air sleeping; great gas grill on deck.

Cute place great location
Cute property. There were four of us (wife, 16 yo, 14 yo, me). Twin bunks were fine for the kids. Bedroom was fine for us. Screened in porch with rocking chairs was nice. Inside meals are a little cramped due to the small table, but deck table was just fine. Boat dock was convient and included. Overall would highly recommend.
