Great area. Close to Sacketts Harbor, which was nice.
Place is nice.

Cottage was fully stocked. The house was big enough for a large family. Several games to keep the family busy on a rainy day. The host was great with communication. There was an issue with one of the showers and the host communicated immediately before we arrived to try and fix the issue. He did have to come back to work on the shower but was very polite to ensure he was not bothering us during our stay. The issue was resolved. Beds were comfortable. Are family had a good time. Close restaurants, ice cream stand. Great location to the Thousand Islands.

Booked what we thought was going to be an amazing place to stay with friends & family for the weekend , first and foremost the ad says free cancellation, which is false because I was contemplating cancelling a month out but would lose my 1000 deposit , so we didn’t cancel, So after going back and forth with travel agent with questions we asked about central ac and then were told Ac units only in bedrooms , which was a big NO for me as it’s the first week in Aug and humid AF !!!!! So that was misleading in the ad . When we arrived at the cottage it was so stale and hot humid inside , instantly so I was so disappointed and mad ! I would have never rented a house for 3000 a week with no damn ac in the main areas , we were told there were fans , ha one little fan in the kitchen . The house was so damp and musty and then !!!!! The water at the doc was so filled with seaweed the kids couldn’t even move on the boogie boards and our boat struggled getting in and out of the bay and dock each time !!! Morning two I get a text from owner asking us to not have camp fires any longer because the Neihbor is apparently allergic to camp fire smell , “ we specifically asked about fires”because we like to have them !! The bathroom doors looked almost everyone in them and the upstairs shower doesn’t drain and isn’t suitable for a grown human , you had to duck to be under the shower head !! The rooms all had trip hazards at every entry and caused many trips and stubbed toes , I want to say the view was amazing but nope , over grown weeds blocking the view , we couldn’t even see our boat from the deck .. I could go on but those are the major things that I’m very disapointed about

We enjoyed the back deck immensely - lots of room and beautiful peaceful views. The house had most everything we needed but is unique in layout. There is an ensuite downstairs, with the other three bedrooms up a narrow stairway that may be difficult for some to navigate (it was interesting to get the luggage up).
Location is nice – just outside a small town, within easy reach of lots of sites and adventures.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay, and would stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in the downstairs bedroom so I can’t speak to the upstairs rooms but the downstairs bedroom has a super comfortable bed, super soft sheets, and a great AC unit! So we were cool and comfy.
As others have mentioned the house is older but the owners have definitely done a number of upgrades. Indeed the ceilings are low and there are steps up and down throughout. I would call the house ‘quirky’ — in a good way. I enjoyed trying to envision what the original structure looked like and how it has evolved.
It was a great location for our stay in Thousand Islands.

We found this property to be missing the mark for sure. Great location, beautiful water views, games, new bath towels, wonderful bikes and kayaks, spacious outdoor deck with gas grill and ample dining and relaxing space. Great neighbors and private backyard. BUT...overall rundown, outdated and dirty. Beware. Listing says central AC but common areas are not air conditioned. Bedrooms have individual units. There are thermostats on wall but I guess it does not work. If you are expecting hot weather please be warned. Mildewy and musting smell throughout. Flies throughout inside upon arrival. Our family struggled with a plumbing issue that we were told about prior to check-in. Out of commission shower the first night, plumber in and out the next day and subsequent leak in kitchen ceiling the day after that. It happens. Filthy box fan, moldy recycling containers inside house, grimy kitchen cabinet doors. Made me wonder! In general, needs a really good cleaning top to bottom. Largest areas are just "swiffer" clean. Bathrooms are very outdated and just cheap. Pillows and mattresses are cheap and need replacing. Problematic steps throughout house. Be careful in the middle of the night! Very, very quirky low ceilings. Watch your head! Especially in the upstairs shower. Most grown men have to bow head and I had to watch my elbows when shampooing. I get that this is a casual summer cottage on Chaumont Harbor. However, if this is going to be rented these things should be addressed and fixed. Some are pretty easy to take care of. More attention is needed before I would consider returning. Not what I expected from a VRBO property.

This property missed the mark for us.There was a plumbing issue that we were told about prior to arrival. Upstairs shower was inoperable for the first night. Plumber was in and out the next day. Subsequent leak in kitchen ceiling caused by repair leaving whole in ceiling and water all over floor. It happens. We cleaned it up. Owner was responsive. Plumber came directly. That said, the listing states central AC. Thermostats on the walls do not work. AC units in each bedroom tell me that is the way it is.Listing should be corrected. If you are staying during warm weather be warned common ares are extremely hot. Musty, mildew smell upon check-in along with lots of flies. Bathrooms are very outdated; fixtures and lighting are cheap. Pillows and mattresses are cheap and overused. Tricky steps throughout property. Watch out! Ceilings are very, very low throughout most of house. Watch your head. In upstairs shower most grown men could not shower without bowing head. I had to watch my elbows when shampooing. I realize it is an older home, so you decide if all of that is "part of the charm." Some red flags in terms of cleanliness made me uneasy. Box fan in living room was full of crud and dust, in-house recycling bins had black mold in bottom, kitchen cabinets were a bit sticky with grime. Needs a good scrub from top to bottom. Simple little things need attention.Overused items need to be replaced. Location, bikes, kayaks, large deck, private yard, were wonderful.

Excellant people and great place to stay 5 stars all the Way

A great weekend getaway for my young family visiting relatives in the north country. The house was clean, rooms were HUGE (especially considering the age of the house) and the location was fantastic. House well is equipped for children - pack & play, mini high chair, 2 roll-a-way beds, water playset and much more. The best part may have been the custom baby gate that can be attached to the balcony to keep kids from heading to the dock alone.
For adults who can appreciate a 150yr old house, there was a bunch of charm. Again, there was no shortage of square feet - the house was enormous. The owners seem to put a lot of thought into what visitors might need in the kitchen, bathroom, etc. the house was very nicely appropriated. Thanks for a great stay, we will be back!

This property was perfect for our family of 10. It had every thing we could have needed, was clean and spacious. Loved the little enclosed porch for morning coffee and the comfy Family Room for watching TV. We all fit comfortably around the dining table, including our family from Three Mile Bay. We would love to visit again.

Wonderful people to know.
Owner and housekeeper went out of their way to find and return a pair of expensive earrings left behind. Appreciate them for their caring prompt service and honesty.

Beautiful view on Chaumont Bay
We enjoyed our stay at this house in Chaumont Bay with such a beautiful view. Upstairs bedroom was delightful and bed comfortable. Loved the open great room to the dining room as well as the outside space. It was quite dated and kitchen could have been a bit cleaner, but overall adequate and a good amount of space for our group. There were wonderful neighbors next door that were quite helpful during our stay.

Family vacation
Excellent communication with property manager, easy check in. Great living room and dining room to accommodate all guests. Kitchen had all the basics for cooking. Fantastic lake views.. Enjoyed the Christmas tree in living room to plug in for a festive Christmas mood along with the electric fireplace. Several restaurants very close by. Got snow, driveway plowed in timely manner and steps shoveled. Would recommend this place for a lovely stay.

Great location in a picturesque small town. Good spot to set up base camp and explore. Property is clean but in need of small repairs and some updating. Host is friendly and helpful.

Beautiful Scenic view
This home was spacious enough for 3 separate couples + a teenager to gather for meals inside and out and sit and enjoy each other's company in the living room. The best part of each day was sitting on the back deck watching the sunset while drinking wine and winding down for a great night's sleep.

Great spacious house with nice location. Worked perfect for our ice fishing trip, nice back porch to get cold gear on and off. Washer and dryer a nice bonus also. Step down in tv room a little tricky but we managed.

Good vieww
Place is pretty much as described. Property owners were easy to communicate with and we experienced no issues regarding check in or check out. Minor quibbles that can easily be addressed
Almost all the sinks and showers have an issue with draining properly. 2nd floor shower also has some sort of blockage. These are easy fixes. Overall, all the members of our group were happy with the place and we will gladly stay there on our next visit to the area.

Relaxing Stay
We had a family get together for the long weekend in Chaumont - 5 Adults, 3 Children (3 separate families). There was lots of space for each family to spread out in the house or outside on the deck (which was our favorite spot). The house is exactly as pictured and described. Rooms were spacious, views of the lake were wonderful, including the daily sunset view. We enjoyed using the Kayaks everyday. We were not able to really swim off the new dock (which was really nice) due to the seaweed, but the overall bay is the same everywhere. Street very nice to be on, kids rode the bikes, and we walked to the White Caps Winery down the road. Kids also appreciated the card and board games that were provided.
Overall a great property where we would certainly consider staying again.
One think just to note: floors in house and deck are not even - I would not recommend for baby walkers.

Very Happy With Stay
We were an extended family of 7 adults in town for a wedding.
The house is spacious and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the furniture is updated and very functional.
The views are great. We spent a lot of time on the deck where there is plenty of seating .
The kayaks were easy to put into the water and use.
We were here during a heat wave. The temperature was in the high 90s, and although no central AC, each bedroom has a very efficient AC.
I had frequent communication with the owner prior to coming, and he was very helpful.
We had a very enjoyable stay.

Perfect waterfront stay
Comfortable spacious home right on the water.
Really enjoyed eating dinner on the deck while watching the sunset. Location was perfect for us- lots of hiking and biking trails within a short drive. Didn’t have time to use kayaks or entertainment system/tv provided. Would highly recommend this rental home!

Cottage in need of repair
One bedroom did not have a functioning thermostat and was very cold, electrical outlets were loose and intermittent, refrigerator did not cool below 45 degrees, microwave worked off and on, microwave vent fan is not functioning, floors and carpets appear clean at first glance but left our feet and socks filthy, bathroom showers were not clean and had hair in them, and there is a long standing leak with rotting wood under the kitchen sink with an extreme mold smell which permeates the entire cottage. We understand it is a 150 year old cottage, but it is lacking general maintenance and not in line with this price point.

Perfect Getaway
My husband, another couple and I rented this perfect property for a four day getaway to the 1000 Island. Our requirements were all met; On the water, deck for happy hour with a beautiful view, at least two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a short drive to Clayton and Alex Bay and finally a reasonable price. Our expectations were entirely met and more. The beds were extremely comfortable, the towels and linens were all provided, the living room was very comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We all would highly recommend this perfect getaway!

wonderful waterfront home
what a beautiful house in a perfectly convenient location. The booking process was effortless, the owner very considerate and helpful, the home was clean and bright and had all the amenities, all of the beds were incredibly comfortable. The best part was the outside deck and patio - we spent every moment we could out there. it was a perfect location and an easy drive to all the local towns - Sacketts Harbor, Cape Vincent, Clayton, Alexandria Bay. There was a beautiful little winery a short walk down the road. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful home.
