5 star treatment, beautiful hotel, awesome staff, comfy beds

good aircon, lovely staff (especially Carlos and Noldan who couldn’t do enough to help us, and the lady who taught us to ride our motorbike!)
all offered extra services had a significant mark up. restaurant missing a couple items. TV didn’t connect to wifi

The location of the property on the beach was amazing and the little property was perfect for a basically private experience. The service was excellent - Noltan and Norbert were great hosts. The breakfast and dinner offered by the restaurant was a nice bonus to our experience at the hotel.
No suggestions here. It was awesome!

Small exotic grounds on the Lake. Incredible sunsets. Perfectly placed to go to other venues on the island. Carlos and Louisa are the best people. Beautiful, tranquil, the service was friendly and professional. The rooms are comfortable, clean and very nice. You go there to get away.

Breakfast was great, the beach was super close and the property was very nice
Not really specific to this property but the showers seemed to be a struggle all around the country. Hot water is hit or miss and water pressure is non existent. Still loved the property but be prepared.

The host, Carlos, was phenomenal and so was the rest of the staff. World class service all around. Food was excellent and attention to details number 1. Concierge service was very personal and attentionate, transport was arranged throughout our stay, and the driver Miguel was more than excellent.

The property is very beautiful! It has an amazing view to the Cocibolca Lake. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was very clean and the staff so welcoming and nice!

I liked the size of the bed and the fact there was hot water. Two of the staff were great while one wasn’t.
No wifi in room! Booked this place because it said it had this. Lots of mold and deferred maintenance in first room. Got another but had to move! Food was all bread which I couldn’t eat.

Room was nice and clean. It looked newly renovated. Hearthy breakfast. Property is in front of the lake. Breakfast area, lobby, and playroom is conveniently protected with screen panels againts moskitos.
Electric energy goes out during the day or night. However, that is something that happens througout the country. Besides the front desk person and room cleaning crew, there are no other personel to service the bar.

Gorgeous property. Great little beach just down a few steps. Great breakfast. Most of all the manager and the night security were excellent and helpful.
I liked everything about this property.

It was all perfect

I originally booked the value room but ended up upgrading to the standard double room which had a much more comfortable bed and was much more spacious, the place has a lovely garden and direct access to the beach, staff was very helpful and arranged an atv rental for me
it is a bit secluded, if you don’t have a car/atv it’s a bit difficult to access restaurants, the nearest restaurant is 10 minutes away and I personally didn’t feel comfortable walking there at night.. so you need to consider that.. it’s too bad the in-house restaurant was closed during my stay, it could have upgraded the stay, especially since there isn’t even an option to buy any drinks there.. at least a bar would be nice :)

the staff were excellent and highly attentive, the breakfast was delicious, and it was located right on the beach
Wi-Fi didn’t reach the room

My intention was to rate only 1 point for Xalli Hotel but the staff works really very hard to make guests happy. Without the staff it deserves only 1 point
1) My room (no 8) was full of bugs, lizards, spiders and a special guest: frog. The floor, the walls, ceiling, the bed, were all full of bugs. It was really impossible to sleep in. Yes, i’ve been in nature before and i’m used to it, but this was really unbearable. The front desk is closed after 6 pm but fortunately there was a gate keeper, i called him and he saw how terrible my room was. He helped me to move to room no 3, which was very small, old and uncomfortable. The next day i asked for a refund because of the price difference between 2 rooms. They refused to pay me the price difference, instead, they offered me to move to room no 9, which is actually the twin room of no 8 (the room full of bugs etc). Of course i didnt accept it. So, i payed for the most expensive room of the hotel, but stayed in the worst room. This is not fair.
2) If you want to spend time at the hotel, there’s nothing other than water. No food, no coffe, no tea etc

Xalli exceeded our expectations, and I would highly recommend this hotel. Carlos, the owner, was especially wonderful. I stayed there with my 3 young children (including an infant), my husband and my teenage niece. Before we arrived Carlos sent me all the information I needed to plan our stay on the island. Once we arrived, he set up the futon for us instead of just handing us extra pillows and blankets, he found us a playpen for our infant to sleep in, and he ordered delivery for us for dinner as their dining room closes at 12pm (which I knew). Not only did he order us takeout, but he set a table in the dining room with care and asked his staff to clean everything up for us when we were done, so that we did not have to lift a finger. Our stay came with free breakfast, and it was delicious! I highly recommend the oatmeal! I thought it would just be simple and boring, but it was the best oatmeal I've had in my life :) My niece said Xalli would be a perfect place to seclude yourself and write a novel; I agreed.
The wifi was weak and basically only worked when we were in the main building. This was not really a problem for us because we were there just to sleep and had no work planned. It was easy to sit in the great room to check social media and messages and make plans for the next day.
